MAKSYMETZ - Wednesday, February 26, 2003, Mr. Alexander Maksymetz, age 79 years, late of Regina. Predeceased by his parents Nellie and Peter; six brothers and three sisters, Alex is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a very close friend Diane DeCuyper. Alex was a long time member of St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, and served in the Armed Forces during W.W.II, after which he farmed for many years. He had a great love of music and was an excellent violinist. Prayers will be held Sunday, March 2, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be held Monday, March 3, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1757 Toronto Street, with Rev. Leonard Romanow presiding. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services.

MOHR - ALVIN passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at the age of 68 years. Alvin is predeceased by both of his parents Ludwig and Pauline, sisters Erna in infancy and Wilma Demchuk and brother Arthur. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years Carolyn; six children: daughter Debbie (Smiley) Mundy and sons Tim, Chris (Connie), Rod (Dena), Kelly, Roger (Desiree); four grandchildren: Aaron, Jackie, Devon and Johnathon; two brothers Arnold (Loretta) and Robert (Sharon), three sisters: Alma Moore, Edna (Stan) Hubick and Ann Weisbrod as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East on Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery, St. Anthony's Mausoleum. MORGAN, Colina P. - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Colina Pearl Morgan on February 27, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. Colina was born June 1, 1928 in Wapella to Roy and Ada Campbell. She is predeceased by her first husband, Arnold Ashton in 1971, three brothers, Neil, George, Andy and two sisters Katherine and Elvis. She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-five years, Robert (Bob) Morgan, two step-sons, Dick (Georgia), Stu (Janet); two step-daughters Jacie (Brent) and Gail; sister Jesse and brother, Malcolm; sister-in-law Shirley (Bob) Templeton; and many nieces and nephews. Colina is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Amy, Jon, Terri, Bobby, Brad, Cam, Jennifer, Morgan and little Chase. Colina was employed at the Pasqua (Grey Nuns) hospital for 40 years. Most of those years were spent in the lab, mainly in Histology. She loved her lab co-workers like a second family. We thank them for their kind support and frequent visits during Colina's illness. In recent years, Colina loved to spend time with Bob at their winter home in Mesa. Her friends there will miss her a great deal. There will be no formal service, at Colina's request. There will be a private interment at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. Moola and the nursing staff of Palliative Care, Pasqua Hospital for their compassionate care over the past three months. Colina was our family's guardian angel and came into our family at a time when we most needed her love and guidance. We are grateful for every thing she did for us. Rest in peace, Grandma.

BABEY - William J. (Bill) passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2003. Bill leaves to mourn his wife Mildred: daughter Brenda; son Bill (Susan); and grandsons Preston and Ryan; sisters Irene, Amelia (John), Katherine; many nephews; and a very special person, Dorothy, who was like another daughter to him. Bill's life was filled with sports. He was an avid Rider fan, watched all the major sporting events broadcasted, and was noted as the #1 fan at his grandsons hockey games. He always looked forward to Saturday outings with his daughters and especially enjoyed their shopping trips to Minot and Bismarck. Bill also loved to go for coffee and lunch with his grandsons and many friends. Over the years, Bill had many health issues to deal with, and most recently was his battle with lung cancer. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. FLAMAN - On Sunday, February 16, 2003, Shirley Ann Flaman of Regina passed away peacefully in the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 61 years. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Daniel, Teresa (Trent) Shipley, Barbara (Grant) Hawman and Laura (Randy) Wyatt; grandchildren, Sonya Graham, Daniel James Sawatzky-Flaman, Alysha and Ryan Shipley, Joshua and Nicole Hawman and Crystal, Cody and Samantha Wyatt; great grandson, Austin Wyatt-Shields; mother-in-law, Teckla Flaman; sisters, Audrey Bodnarek and Brenda (Dick) King and numerous other family. FRIZZELL - STANLEY CHARLES of Strasbourg passed away February 15, 2003 at the age of 91 years. GEORGOULIS - Nikolaos, long-time popular restaurant operator in Regina, died on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 12:45 p.m. in the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 48 years. Nick is survived by his beloved wife Stauvroula (Roula) (nee: Papadakos) and his children Konstantinos and Varvara. Nick was born on November 30, 1954 in Kastri, Arcadia, Greece, the third child of the late Konstantinos Georgoulis and the late Athamandia Greanias Georgoulis. He immigrated to western Canada in 1972, joining numerous relatives and friends, settling in Regina where he met and married Roula in June of 1982. In recent years Nick owned and operated several successful restaurants in Regina. His failing health caused him to retire from the restaurant business late last year. Nick's life and character were marked by tremendous energy, optimism, generosity and get-up-and-go. In later years he devoted the same loving attention that he had long given to his family and business, to his beloved village of Kastri in Greece, spending vacations there, working on civic improvements. He was also a long-time stalwart supporter of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church in Regina. His courage and optimism over the past year, in the face of his fatal illness, were an inspiration to all who knew him. Besides his wife and children, Nick is survived by his brother Haralambos (Panayiota) of Athens, Greece; his sister Christina Papageorgiou (Rev. Fr. Nikolaos Papageorgiou); his mother's brothers John Greanias of the United States and Konstantinos Greanias of Greece; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States and Greece; and a host of loving friends, especially in Regina and Kastri. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to a special charitable fund that is being set up in his name at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church in Regina. HOWE - RHODA RACHEL HOWE. Passed away February 15, 2003 at the age of 95. Rhoda was born in Forward, Saskatchewan, September 6th, 1907. Her best friend and husband of 66 years, Leslie Howe; her parents, Minnie and Charlie Jarrett; and her brother Emerson Jarrett predecease her. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn and her husband Ivan Jorgensen; her son Dallas and his wife Sandy; grandchildren: Leslie (Steve), Tricia (Trevor), Chandler (Corrine), and Gaylene; as well as four great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law, Cecile Jarrett and Eileen Crawford and several nieces and nephews also survive her. Rhoda attended school in Weyburn and graduated from Regina Normal School. In 1924 at the age of 17 she began a teaching career in rural Saskatchewan and returned to this career in Regina in the late 1950's. She and Les married in 1933 and were lifelong partners on their family farming operation near Adams, Saskatchewan. She continued to be the driving force on the farm after his death in 2000 and the farm was recognized as a Saskatchewan Century Farm in 2001. Rhoda cherished the farm way of life and enjoyed an independent life style on the farm right up until her passing. Rhoda was a remarkable woman in every facet of her life. She was a loving daughter, a devoted wife, a dedicated mother, a caring grandmother, a respected schoolteacher, an active farmer, an avid gardener, a ferocious reader, a student of the Bible, a trusted friend and loving care giver to Leslie. Rhoda was a wise, unique woman whose strength, values and beliefs continue to provide a profound example to those who had the good fortune to know her. Rhoda will be sorely missed by her loving family and friends. The family wishes to thank the ambulance attendents and Cariac Care Clinical Team at Pasqua Hospital for their professional and compassionate care. Donations in her memory can be made to the Salvation Army, Box 51, Regina, S4P 2Z5, in lieu of flowers.
