GILHOOLY, JOHN MICHAEL (MIKE) - Passed away at home peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at the age of 65 years. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Betty Gilhooly and sister Diane, Michael is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; son Gregory (Oakville, Ontario) and his wife Mary Anne Bueschkens and their son Nicholas; daughter Dawn (Hamilton, Ontario) and her husband Chris Pirsias; son Douglas (Oakville, Ontario) and his wife Louise Kelly and their children Michael, Meghan and Brendan; mother-in-law Evelyn McGillivray (Regina); sister-in-law Diane Ollmann (Toronto, Ontario), brother-in-law Morley McGillivray (Vancouver, British Columbia) and their families; and many close friends. Michael was born and raised in Regina where he attended Connaught Public and Balfour Technical Schools. He was an avid hockey player and fan; playing for a number of years within the Pat Organization. In 1956, he joined Northern Electric (Nedco) where he worked for the next 43 years. In 1962, Michael and Pat moved to Winnipeg where they raised their family and lived for over 32 years prior to moving back to Regina in 1994. Michael was a sports enthusiast and dedicated much of his life to volunteerism. He had a passion for hockey, golf and curling. While residing in Winnipeg, he was a member of the Assiniboine Curling Club and Bel Acres Golf and Country Club where he thoroughly enjoyed himself and developed many close friendships. He coached hockey for many years at the Heritage Community Club and later became manager of the Portage Terriers. He served on the executive of the St. James Canadians Junior Hockey Club, Manitoba Junior Hockey League and Manitoba Amateur Hockey Association. Michael was a wonderful husband, father and friend. His family and the many good friends he met throughout his life were very important to him. He was a gentle man with a heart of gold. His genuine consideration and thoughtfulness towards others continued throughout his courageous battle with cancer. The world has lost a fine spirit and brave man. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Casey, Dr. Gorman, Dr. Yaqoob and the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, Dr. Clein and all the compassionate caregivers at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Home Care Services... your kindness and support during this difficult time has been greatly appreciated. When you think of me, smile! I'll be smiling then too. And I'll smile All the while When I'm thinking of you. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, 2003 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue E., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory can be made to the Palliative Care Unit 3A, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina SK S4T 1A5.

HUNTER, Eleanor Helen (nee Wig),

HUNTER - Eleanor Helen (nee Wig) was born on December 12, 1924 in Shaunavon, Sk. She spent her growing up years on the farm near Eastend and as a young woman moved into Eastend to work as a nurses aid at the hospital. In the mid fifties she attended business college in Saskatoon and shortly after that moved to Grande Prairie, where she worked as bookkeeper for Horne and Pitfield. In 1960 she married Robert Hunter and in 1963 began raising a family on the farm at Bezanson, near Grande Prairie. Throughout the years her faith and her family were the centre of her life. She lost part of that family when Bob passed away in 1987, but much of her joy and life were restored when her grandchildren began arriving in 1989. In 1990 she moved to Regina and resided there until her passing on July 22, 2003. She was predeceased by her parents Helma and Edward Wig, her husband Robert, son Dale, brothers Orville and Don Wig, sister-in-law Janet Wig, brothers-in-law George Sebastian and Jim Tissington. Eleanor is lovingly remembered by daughter Glenda (Rod) Marquardt and their children Sydney and Aidan, son Doug (Charla) and their children Brandon, Blaine and Breanna, sister Gladys (Milton) Rude, sisters-in-law Shirley Wig, Mary Sebastian and Pam Tissington, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Hillsdale St, Regina on Monday, July 28, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Bryan Rosnau officiating. The interment will be held at Glen Leslie Cemetery, near Grande Prairie with a MEMORIAL SERVICE to follow in Grande Prairie. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Canadian Lutheran World Relief Fund or a charity of choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (789-8850)

MCNABB, LARAINE BRENDA (NEE JOHNS) - It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell to our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend, Laraine (Wawa). She went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2003 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Her passing was peaceful and filled with the grace and dignity that were markers of the way Laraine lived her life. Laraine was born July 5, 1948 in Fort Qu'Appelle. She was a Registered Nurse in Fort Qu'Appelle and surrounding areas where she was known to have a compassionate heart, a gentle way and was one who touched those who were blessed to know her. She served her people in the medical field for the last 32 years. She is predeceased by her sister Janet, first husband William Isnana Jr., and daughter Heather. Laraine leaves to cherish her memory four children, Melanie, Greg (Tera), Colleen (Stephen), and Natalie (Brad), her parents, Thomas and Josephine Johns and her brothers and sisters, Carol, Maureen (George), Thomas (Janice), Dwayne (Michelle) Allen (Tina) and Cathie (Wes). She will be sadly missed by her 9 grandchildren, Kyle, Kory, Jared, Lauren, Alexandra, Calem, Andrew, Nolan and Tori, along with numerous nieces and nephews, colleagues and friends. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Pasqua Hospital on Ward 3B, 3D and ICU and Laurein Johnson of the Liver Foundation. Thanks to Dr. McHattie, Dr. Ukabam and Dr. LaRoux for their loving attention and patience with mom over the last few months. Prayer service will be Sunday, July 27th, 2003 at 7:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Victoria Funeral Home, 2080 E. Victoria Ave., Regina, SK. A celebration of Laraine's life will be held at the Standing Buffalo School Gym on Monday, July 28, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Edmond Gordon officiating. ANGUS - Robert (Scotty) Angus, passed away suddenly on April 4, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Scotty was born in Scotland on June 2, 1920 and immigrated to Canada in 1927. He was raised on a farm two miles north of Kincaid. In 1943, Scotty married Helene Douville of Ponteix. In 1952 they purchased the Case Agency on Main Street in Kincaid, known as "Scotty's Service". In 1959, Scotty and Helene moved to Hazenmore and established a new business, Scotty's Esso Service and Helene's Cafe. In 1972, they moved to Moose Jaw to enjoy their retirement years. Scotty is predeceased by brothers and sisters: Margaret, Ed, Charlie, Jean, Alex, John, and Chrissie. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 59 years, Helene; two sons: Ron (Diana) of Regina; Bob (Noella) of Lethbridge; four grandchildren: Colin, Chad, Cheldon, and Cami; and two great-grandsons, Brayden and Blake. Funeral Services will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday April 8, 2003 at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends Monday evening 7-8:30 pm at the Funeral Home. Memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, S6H 4P2, would be appreciated. ARMSTRONG, HARVEY - With great sadness the family announces the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather on Friday, April 04, 2003 at the age of 79. Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Jeanette; lovingly remembered by his daughters Beverley Brecht and husband Philip of Bellevue, AB; Carol Farrar and husband Wayne of Moose Jaw, SK; sons Douglas Armstrong and his wife Dianne of Whitby, ON; and Edwin Armstrong and his wife Val of Swift Current, SK. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, relative and friends. Predeceased by his father and mother John and Bessie Armstrong; brother, Brian Armstrong and sister Rita Sureau. Survived by sisters Irene and Art Kinchen of Nepean; ON; Betty and Lawrence McRorie of Avonlea, SK; and brothers John Armstrong and Sal Halladay of Calgary, AB; Bruce and Margaret Armstrong of Calgary, AB. Harvey was born in 1923 in Mazenod SK. He served with the 101st Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment during WWII where he was wounded in France. Harvey worked at Saskatchewan Brewers in Regina until his heart attack in 1970, when he was forced to retire. During his retirement Harvey and Jean moved to Moose Jaw. The service of Remembrance will be held at the Regina Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (789-8850).

ENTWISTLE - On Thursday, April 3, 2003 Mary Entwistle (nee Free) passed away peacefully. We were fortunate to have just all seen her and celebrate her 89th birthday on March 31st. Predeceased by her parents Martha and John; her husband, Henry; brothers: Harold (Norma), Warren and Jim (Kaye); sister, Ruth; great granddaughter, Shaulette, great grandson, Taylor; and sons-in-law, Konrad and Maurice. Mom will forever be missed by her children: Patricia, Beverly, John (Ardelle), Corrinne (Kevin); her grandchildren: Mariann (Wayne), Jeff (Amanda), Tom (Danna), Sonya (Patrick), Trevor (Brenda), Cathleen, Melissa (Aaron), Christine, Lacey and Parker; her great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Maddison, Roslyn, Konner, Braxton, Tyler, Hope and Foster and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom's thirst for knowledge led her into various endeavours in her life. She was an avid reader, dedicated to the political scene and very active in women's organizations. She was also a true Christian, always putting others ahead of herself. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2003 from the Chapel of Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Avenue with Rev. David Hoffman officiating. HAMEL - Roland Louis Hamel, of Alexander, MB, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre surrounded by his family. Roly was born in 1918 on a farm near Wauchope, SK, and attended Middleburg School. While working as a farm hand in the Beresford district, MB, he met teacher Eileen Chapman, whom he married in 1945. Roly served in the Canadian Army and then the Air Force, and was posted to Prince Rupert and Sidney, BC, and London, UK. He farmed south of Alexander from 1947 until shortly before his death. He was a rink caretaker, school bus driver, district school board member, active church member tireless community volunteer and supporter, and good neighbour. Predeceased by his parents Wilfrid and Angeline (Cloutier), brothers Francois, Alberic, Maurice, Roger; wife Eileen (Chapman) and daughter Judith Mary in infancy, Roly is survived by sisters Cecile Lavigne and Marie Bula of Vancouver, and Julie (John) Marchak of Edmonton; sisters-in-law Alice (D'Autremont) of Redvers, SK, and Zoe (Beavis) of Vancouver: Brother-in-law Wilbert (Ann) Chapman of Brandon; wife Julia of Brandon; children Barb (Stan) Saylor of Regina, Bob (Susan) of Ottawa, Sandra (Grant) Kirkup of Souris, MB, and Don (Diane) of Vancouver; step-children Nick (Leslie) Paulet of Winnipeg, Marie-Louise (Gilles) St. Jacques of Thompson, MB, and Katie Paulet of Brandon; 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral took place at St. Augustine's R.C. Church, Brandon, on Monday, March 31, 2003, with interment at Brandon Cemetery. Arrangements were in care of Brockie Donovan, (204) 727-0694. Dad rested cancer with fortitude and dignity, and without complaint. Those who so wish may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Soliety (in Regina, 1910 McIntyre St., S4P 2R3).
