GEDAK - Maternis Richard Gedak, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, Estevan, on Friday, November 7, 2003 at the age of 83 years. Mat was born in Estevan, the son of Anton and Marianna Gedak, on March 25, 1920. He was employed at his Father's place of business, Gedak's Shop, until 1963 when he started Gedak's Farm Equipment, with a franchise for J.I. Case Farm Machinery. He operated this business for 35 years until he retired and his son and daughter-in-law, Ric and JoAnn took over the business in 1980. Mat spent his retirement enjoying his family and hobbies. He leaves behind his wife, Lil after 61 years of marriage, Estevan; six sons, Vince (Darlene), Fort Saskatchewan, AB; Ric (JoAnn), Estevan; Ken, Yorkton; Dan (Dianne), Estevan; Greg (Kathy), Estevan; Dave (Kathy), Estevan; sister, Mary Peter, Estevan; sister-in-law, Anne Gedak, Estevan; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Anton and Marianna Gedak; daughter-in-law, Norma Gedak; brothers, John, Zack, Norman, Joe; sisters, Bernice Hoffart and Flora Just. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, from St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Estevan with Father Lorne D. Crozon officiating. Interment will follow at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. Prayers will be said 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, from the Chapel of the Orsted Funeral Home, Estevan. Allan Styre Bob Moyse

BIGELOW - Hilda Ethel Mary Bigelow, late of Regina, SK, passed away on, Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon (1911 1967); son Bruce Collin (1947 1976); daughter Melodie Mae Brockway (1945 1998); parents John and Ethel Brown; and brother Jack Brown. Hilda is survived by her daughter Barbara-Ann Bigelow Ellingson (Randy Ellingson); sons Douglas Allen Bigelow (Lynn Halgren) and Glenn Gordon (Kelly) Bigelow; grandson Jared Bigelow; granddaughters Christine (Sheldon Gunn) Brockway and Karen Brockway, Nicole (Kurt) Baumgartner, Lisa, Sara, Marla and Christin Bigelow; step-granddaughter Brie-Ann Ellingson; great grandchildren Madeleine Mae Gunn (Brockway) and Haidyn Quinn Baumgartner; and many friends. The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK, with Pamela Thomas officiating. Buck, Robert,

BUCK - The late Robert Buck departed this life at the Regina General Hospital early Wednesday evening, November 5, 2003. He was born on May 21, 1924 in Kharkov in the Ukraine Soviet Union. Mr. Buck came to Canada with his parents and sister Mary in March of 1930. Robert settled in Mazenod, Sask. In 1940 they moved to the Mortlach area where he farmed. He served in the Army during World War II with the Tank Regiment, where he remained in Canada. He enlisted in the Army again from 1956 to 1959 with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, where he received his Airborne Wings. From 1962 to 1964 Robert was a barber in Bengough, SK and in Regina from 1964 to 1966. He was then a Steam Engineer in Pioneer Village from 1967 to 1975. He then worked with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires from 1977 to 1983. Robert had numerous hobbies which included hunting and fishing. He was also an Honorary Life Member in the Saskatchewan Gun Collectors Association. He was also a member of the Regina Wildlife Federation. On August 1, 1964 Robert married Renate Yauck at Grace Lutheran Church. He leaves to mourn his death his wife Renate; son Curtis; brother Fred (Doreen) Buck of Mortlach, SK and his sisters: Mary Tabler of Barrie, ON, Irene (Gene) Rudeen of Mortlach, SK, Bertha (Walter) Reisdorf of Delta, BC, Elfrieda Reisdorf of Langley, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Robert was predeceased by his parents Otto and Anna Buck; brother Gustav of Ukraine; two brothers-in-law Gustav Tabler and Rev. Ronald Reisdorf. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 7, 2003 from 7:00 9:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue with Rev. Glen Stever officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lutheran Laymen's League of Canada, 270 Lawrence Avenue, Kitchener, ON N2M 1Y4 or to the Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. 1037 Victoria Avenue, Regina S4P 0N6. A special thank you to all the CCU Staff at the Regina General Hospital for their care and support they gave Robert during his final days. CARNALL - Nellie (nee Pennock), born at 1428 Wascana Street on December 25, 1918, passed away November 6, 2003, the last surviving sibling of the late James and Ethel Pennock and predeceased by her husband Clem (1986). Survived by her loving family, daughters Florence (John) Cattell of Regina and Carolyne Edwardson of Duncan, BC; son Clem of Kronau; her seven grandchildren: Morley (Cheryl) Cattell, Stacey (Patti) Cattell, Jamieson, Tyler and Riley Carnall of Regina, Chris (Jack) Martens of Duncan, BC, Patti (Doug) Johnston of Surrey, BC; great grandchildren: Jessica and James Martens, Hayley Cattell, Cameron and Heather Cattell, Taylor and Keenan Johnston. The family wish to thank the staff at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the kind and compassionate care they provided Nellie during her stay over the last 11 months. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Rev. Craig Moeller officiating. Cremation. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Jane is survived by her husband Allan Gelowitz, children Dwayne (Donna) Gelowitz from Regina and their children Bryn, Alyssa, and Brianna, Norbert (Glenys) Gelowitz from Kelowna and their children Devin, Tyler, and Rylan, Darcy (Dawn) Gelowitz from Regina and their children Dustin and Deanna, and Neil Gelowitz from Regina. Prayers will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Grayson, SK., on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Grayson, SK., on Wednesday, November 12 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Mary's Cemetery Fund. GERAN - RON passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the age of 51. Ron is predeceased by his father Nick, brother Gordon, and stepfather Walter Hill. Left to cherish his memory is his mother Helen Hill, sisters: Louise Fraser, Wendy (Rodney) Palaniuk, and Brenda (Tony) Knoll, brothers: Jerry, and Doug (Diane), stepbrother Doug (Ruby) Hill, stepsisters: Doreen (Tim) Forsythe, Diane (Doug) Hale, Dawn (Al) Zurloff, and Darlene (Paul) Hondul as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends. Ron was employed at IPSCO for 15 years and was a back yard mechanic for many relatives and friends. Ron's love of sports included golfing, hockey, and watching his favorite football team. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 E. on November 13. 2003 at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will follow at Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Ron's memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, Sk, S4P 2R3. The family would like to express special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Pasqua Hospital for all the care they gave Ron. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (789-8850)
