CARNALL - Nellie (nee Pennock), born at 1428 Wascana Street on December 25, 1918, passed away November 6, 2003, the last surviving sibling of the late James and Ethel Pennock and predeceased by her husband Clem (1986). Survived by her loving family, daughters Florence (John) Cattell of Regina and Carolyne Edwardson of Duncan, BC; son Clem of Kronau; her seven grandchildren: Morley (Cheryl) Cattell, Stacey (Patti) Cattell, Jamieson, Tyler and Riley Carnall of Regina, Chris (Jack) Martens of Duncan, BC, Patti (Doug) Johnston of Surrey, BC; great grandchildren: Jessica and James Martens, Hayley Cattell, Cameron and Heather Cattell, Taylor and Keenan Johnston. The family wish to thank the staff at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the kind and compassionate care they provided Nellie during her stay over the last 11 months. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Rev. Craig Moeller officiating. Cremation. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nellie's name could be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of SK., 2360 2nd Avenue, Regina S4R 1A6 or the Alzheimer Society of SK., #301 2550 12th Avenue, Regina S4P 3X1. COCKERTON - Irene Mary, late of Regina, SK, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2003 at the age of 82 years. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur; parents William and Sara Turner; and brother-in-law Joseph Payne. Irene is survived by her sister Audrey Payne; nephews Murray and Brian Payne; grandnephews Nathaniel and Thomas Payne; special family member Marjorie Osborne; and relatives in England. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. Interment will follow at Wolseley Cemetery. DESJARLAIS/PELLETIER - On Sunday, November 16, 2003, Arnold Daniel (Kujo) ("Kenew" Eagle), passed away peacefully, at the age of 70 years, surrounded by his loving family, and a very special friend by his side, Catherine. Arnold was born on November 14, 1933 on the Muskowekwan Reserve. He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence Desjarlais and Josephine Pelletier. He is survived by his brothers: Joe, John and Peter, also his sisters: Evelyn, Dorothy and Celina; he is also survived by his children Clayton (Carol), Arnold (Pam), Sylvia (Dereck), Joseph, Annie (Mel), Maureen (Ryan); grandchildren Mariah, Angelo, Geno, Royce, Nina, Sarah, and Morgan, also numerous nieces and nephews and many other grandchildren. Arnold was well known and had a great inspiration for his horses. He also was a great inspiration to his friends during the time of ""training and racing"" his pony chuckwagon and chariots. He had also touched the hearts of many friends around him and those who knew him. Arnold was well known and proudly respected for his native and traditional ways of life. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends and also his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We would also like to give special thanks to a very special nephew, Calvin Pelletier, for all the help and prayers he has given him and the support and strength he has given to us. We would also like to give a special thanks to St. Joseph's Hospital, to the nurses, doctors and staff during his stay in the hospital. A two day wake will be held at Evelyn Pelletier's residence on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 commencing at 5:00 PM through to Friday, November 21, 2003 at Noon. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 21, 2003 at 2:00 PM in Mary Queen of all Hearts R.C. Church, Lestock, SK with Rev. W. Wojtkowiak omi, celebrant with burial to follow at the Muskowekwan First Nation Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645

"TOGETHER AGAIN." HANSEN, EVA EMILY - Funeral service for Eva Emily Hansen will be at 1:30pm, Friday, November 21, 2003, her birthday, in Finley Sunset Hills Chapel, 6801 SW Sunset Hwy, Portland, Oregon. Reception will follow at Finley's Mortuary. Private burial will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park. Mrs. Hansen died November 16. She was 90 years of age. Mrs. Hansen was born at Mossbank, Saskatchewan, Canada, November 21, 1912. She was married to Walter C. Hansen in 1934. They were married 58 years. Mrs. Hansen went to Business College in Brandon, Manitoba. She was trained as a Registered Nurse at Moose Jaw General Hospital in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. After moving to Portland in 1935, she worked mainly as a Private Duty Nurse and was active in The Oregon Nurses Association where she served as Chairman of The Private Nurse Section on the Board of Directors. She was an active member of The American Nurses Association from 1954 to 1970, serving on many committees, 8 years as Chairman of the A.N.A., Private Duty Nurse Section and 10 years as member of the Board of Directors. She was employed by Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center in 1970 at The Rehabilitation Institute of Oregon. She was Head Nurse at R.I.O. for 9 years and retired from R.I.O. in 1981 after 50 years of nursing. In 1969 she was chosen by District I. of The Oregon Nurses Association and her name was presented to the Portland Federation of Women's Organizations and was added to the Roster of  Women of Dedication,  in recognition of unselfish and public spirited service to her organization and to her community. She was nominated for the Jefferson Award in 1981. She was preceded in death by sisters Christina Sandbeck, Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Dorothy Ireland, Mossbank, Saskatchewan, and Hazel Miller, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, as well as her husband who passed away in 1992 in Portland. Survivors include Arlene Hensley, daughter, of Portland, as well as many nieces and nephews. Family suggests remembrances be contributed to the charity of your choice.

HOFFERT - On Sunday, November 16, 2003, Elizabeth, late of Avonlea, SK and formerly of Regina passed away at the age of 93 years. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Frank and Frances Muhr; her husband Luke; daughter Joanne in infancy; son Ronald; brothers Walter, Henry and Eddy; brothers-in-law Charlie Runge and John Baumgartner. She is survived by her sons Eugene (Louise), Vern (Rita); grandchildren Joanne (Mark), Allan (Carolyn), Andrew (Jennifer) and Jason; great grandchildren Christopher, Brittaney, Michael and Alyssa; brothers John (Eva), Max (Katie), Mike (Lillian); sisters Hilda Runge and Frances Baumgartner; sister-in-law Agnes Muhr, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 21, 2003 at 1:00 PM in St. Agnes R.C. Church, Pilot Butte, SK with Rev. Danilo Rafael, celebrant. Interment to follow in Regina Memorial Gardens. A Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2003 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. Elizabeth was a very gentle, kind and caring person and dedicated her retirement years to helping others at the church. Special thanks to Al and Gloria Boehme and also to all the staff at Coteau Range Manor in Avonlea. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645

RIEGER - Debra Elizabeth (nee Elliott) lost her courageous battle with cancer on November 15 at the age of 49. Debbie will be remembered for her love of life. She was a dedicated mother, wife, friend and coworker. Predeceased by her father-in-law John, Debbie is survived by her husband Dave of 30 years, sons Cory, Scott (fiance Jackie Wagner) and Matthew, parents Jim and Shirley Elliott, mother-in-law Katie Rieger, four brothers Terry (Chris) (Seattle), Larry (Sandy) (Saskatoon), Garry (Brenda) (Saskatoon) and Randy (Yvonne), one sister Lynn; brothers and sisters-in-law John (Toronto), Mandy (Art) (Calgary), Jerry (Susan), Carol (Terry) and numerous nephews and nieces. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 11am at Bread of Life Church, 3018 Doan Drive. Luncheon served. Flowers gratefully declined. Those so wishing may make donations to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre or Children's Wish Foundation. Arrangements in care of Paragon Funeral Servies. A family interment will be held at a later date.
