FOSTER, EVA - On Saturday, November 15, 2003 the Lord called Eva from Regina Pioneer Village into his warm embrace at the age of 93. Predeceased by her brothers John and Frank Ludwar and sisters Annie and Freda, Eva is survived by her loving husband Arnold; sons Keith and Stephen (Sharon); granddaughters Christa and Michelle; brother Henry and sister Lena. Besides being a caring homemaker, Eva worked as a seamstress at the R. H. Williams Department Store and later at Simpson's. She was a long-time member and past president of the Catholic Women's League. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Cecilia's R.C. Church, 5020 7th Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. Pedro Aldea, celebrant. The Interment will follow in Regina Memorial Gardens. A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make a donation to a charity of their choice. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645

HAWKESFORD - Grace Elizabeth ( nee CALDER) of Regina passed away in Ottawa, Ontario on Thursday, November 13. She was the daughter of the late Grace Elizabeth Calder and Wallace L. Calder of Surrey, B.C. and was predeceased by her dearly beloved husband Horace Hawkesford; by her sister Mary Edna DeDecker (Harry) of Kamloops, B.C.; by her brother Spencer Calder (Anne) of Indian Head, Sask. and by a sister-in-law, Noreen Calder of Kentville, Nova Scotia. She was a dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by one son, Calder Donald Hawkesford (Mona) of Fillmore, Sask; one daughter, Nikki Lynn Hawkesford (Deryck) of Ottawa, Ontario; one sister, Winnifred Margaret Manz (Adam) of Thamesville, Ontario; two brothers: Robert M. Calder of Kentville, Nova Scotia and Wallace L. Calder (Greta) of Abbotsford, B.C. She is also mourned by five grandchildren: Carol Albrecht (Bruce) of Kitchener, Ontario, Kelly Harlton of Montreal, Quebec, Riley Harlton (Tana) of Montreal, Colleen Hawkesford (Shawn) of Regina, Sask. and Melodi Hawkesford also of Regina, Sask; one great-grandchild, Tyler Bowman of Kitchener, Ontario. Plus numerous neices and nephews. By request, there will be no service. Interment will be done by the immediate family on Friday, November 21, 2003 at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends and family so wishing may make donations to The Arthritis Society, 110-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 3X1.

HETLAND - Doris Edvena (nee Proctor) Oh Doris, how we loved you. On November 12, 2003, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg. Doris was born in Newmarket, Ontario and went to Poplar Bank School on Yonge Street until Grade 8. As a teenager, she walked 3 miles into Newmarket High School. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Hamilton General Hospital where she met some life long friends. She immediately joined TransCanada Airlines. She trained in Winnipeg, was posted in Moncton and then Toronto where she flew the  milk route . She moved to Montreal where she flew on one of the first TCA routes overseas& "The TransAtlantic". It was in Montreal where she met Forrest. They were married in June 1952 and moved to Saskatoon, where their 3 children were born. They raised their family in the city and on the farm, east of Naicam. She and Forrest accepted the Saskatchewan Master Farm Family Award in 1970. In 1971, the family moved to Winnipeg, where she resided until her death. Doris had a real love for life. She cherished her many friends. Playing bridge, curling, Canadian Club, Canadian Maple Wings Association, Meals-on-Wheels were all interests in her life. Among her volunteer activities at Westminster United Church, she was known as the "cookie lady". She enjoyed summer life at the cottage. Predeceased by her parents, Fred and Mabel Proctor, her brother, Ted and sisters, Marion, Doreen and Pauline, she leaves her loving husband, Forrest, children BettyJane (Ken) Thomas, Bill (Lori) and Barb (Bob) Lefsrud, grandchildren, Brenna Thomas, Carli, Gina, Brett, and Scott Hetland, Erik, Jana, and Kara Lefsrud, her brothers, Bill and Harrison and sister Margaret Buchanan. She was a devoted, caring wife, mother and grandma. We are so thankful for her. A private family service was held to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westminster Foundation, 745 Westminster Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3G 1A5

BISCHOFF MARGARET (HEPPLE) - On Friday, November 21, 2003, Margaret passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Margaret was predeceased by her mother Maude, her father Robert, and her brothers Thomas, Robert and Gerald. Left to cherish her memory are: her children Judy Zawacki, Robert (Louise), Paul, Alan, Wayne (Colette); fifteen grandchildren Carla (Martin), Marisa, Alia (Mike), Jason, Erin (Trevor), Terri, Joey, Sarah, Julia, Melanie, Laila (Trevor), Michael, Laura, Adam and Anthony and three great grandchildren Melanie, Kaiden and Olivia. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24th at St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church, 4720 Castle Road, with Rev. Paul Dungan presiding. Special thanks to the staff on ward 4C and the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital. Arrangement in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services. CUMING (MURRAY) - Macil Elaine (nee: Johnstone) went home to be with her Lord on November 19, 2003. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Macil Johnstone, brother Ron Johnstone, first husband William (Bill) Murray, second husband Charles Cuming, and brother-in-law Gordon Coleman. Left to mourn her passing are her sister Verna (Jack) Baumber, brother Lorne (Ruth) Johnstone, son Bob (Lynda) Murray all of Regina, and daughter Diane (Jim) Mayer of Winnipeg. Elaine also leaves her grandchildren Stephen (Elizabeth), Heather and Holly Murray of Regina, and Laura (Kevin) McArthur and their children Kennedy and Cooper, and Colin (Tammy) Mayer and their children Dakota and Ryan of Winnipeg, sister-in-law Vi Coleman of Saskatoon. Elaine's family was rounded out by her step-family including Dale (Marlene) Cuming, Ron (Elizabeth) Cuming, Doug (Barbara) Cuming, Zelda (Lance) Nelson, Blanche (Henry) Hopp and their children and grandchildren. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine was born in Weyburn on April 26, 1916 and raised on the family farm in Yellow Grass. Elaine was married to her first husband, Bill, for 26 years until his death in 1962 and her second husband, Charles, for 30 years until his death in 1995. Elaine was a long-time resident of Regina and spent the last years of her life in Santa Maria Nursing Home. Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a teacher by profession and carried this penchant for teaching through to the hours spent with her grandchildren reading, playing games, and making wonderful creations. In Elaine's own words, one of her greatest joys was following the progress and achievements of her many grandchildren and watching them grow up as persons who were very dear to her. She will be eternally missed by all of us. At her request, the service and interment will be a private, family affair to be held on Monday, November 24, 2003 at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Regina Humane Society. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (Phone 789-8850)
