Carrie V. Smith, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully in the early evening of September 19, 2007 at the Pioneer Village where she had resided for a brief period of time. Prior to that the family allowed her to live out her wish to continue living in her house with her four cats for as long as she could.
Carrie Smith was an amazing woman who was very active until the age of 94 years. She loved spending time with family and being involved in the Regina Lions Band organizations. Carrie was a huge Roughrider fan and had season tickets since the team started playing games at Taylor Field until 2001. For many years she managed the Hotel Saskatchewan Gift Shop.
She will join her late husband William (Bill) Arthur Smith who passed away in December 1997.
Carrie is survived by her son Warren (Pamela); grandsons Kent (Samantha), Shawn (Tara), Mark and Adam; great grandson Liam; as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces.
A Graveside Service will be held in October.

Mr. Anthony "Tony" Joseph Blanchard
May 25, 1916 - September 18, 2007
Mr. Anthony Joseph “Tony” Blanchard passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 Tony in the Birchview Nursing Home, Birch Hills at the age of 91 years. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22 from Sacred Heart Cathedral -1401 – 4th Avenue West. The Reverend Father Matthew Nguyen will officiate. Tony is survived by his loving family: his beloved wife of 67 years Verna (nee Short); his daughter Carol; his sons Ervin (Frances), Barry, Kevin (Judy), Daryl, Roy (Wanda); his 16 grandchildren Mark Blanchard, Curtis (Vicky) Blanchard, Cheryl (Jeff) Simpso, Cynthia (Sameer) Kumar, Charlene Fitzpatrick, Ronalda (Chris) Bender, Barry Jackson (B.J.) Blanchard, Danielle & Brennen Blanchard, Aaron, Cole, Janice & Bailey Blanchard, Alyssa, Wade & Riley Blanchard; his 11 great-grandchildren Nicholas & Kaitlyn Blanchard, Molly, Abby & Reece Blanchard, Joshua, John, Jordan & Cierra Simpso, Aydan & Ethan Kumar; his brothers-in-law Glen and Clare “Sonny” Short; his sisters-in-law Eileen and June Short. He was predeceased by: His parents William & Gertrude (nee Karlsten) Blanchard; his brother Walter; his brothers-in-law James, Chester, Ray, Lyle Short; his sister-in-law Ida Byrne; his great-grandchild Cody Simpso. Tony was born May 25, 1916 to William and Gertrude Blanchard. He started school in the Winton District and finished in Prince Albert. He farmed in the Winton district until 1966. When he semi-retired he worked for Given Farms until he retired in 1982. Then he looked after Birch Hills Cemetery until 1995. The last two years were spent in Birchview Nursing Home. It is the family’s request that donations be made to the Birchview Nursing Home Auxiliary or to the Birch Hills Skating Arena. Interment will take place in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL.
Mr. Gino Scipioni
May 1, 1929 - September 19, 2007
Gino passed away peacefully surrounded by the prayers of his family in Regina on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the age of 78 years. He was born on May 1, 1929 in Torricella Sicura, Teramo, Italy.
He was predeceased by his mother Genoeffa; step-father Serafino Melchiorre; brother Umberto Melchiorre; mother and father-in-law Mafalda and Angelo Parisone; brothers in-law Gennaro Bocale, Guerino Di Salvo and Guiseppe Pompeli. Gino's devotion and love for his family was the guiding principal of his life.
He will be deeply missed and always remembered in the hearts of his loving wife Guiseppina of 50 years; daughters Ginetta (David) and Antonia; grandchildren Nathanial and Kiyan; sisters Almerinda of Italy, Linda of Australia, Rosina of Italy; his brother Dino of Regina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends in both Canada and Italy.
A FUNERAL MASS in celebration of Gino's life will be held at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Eugene Schaeffer, celebrant. ENTOMBMENT to follow at St. Anthony's Mausoleum, Regina Memorial Gardens, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK.
Many wonderful nurses, including home care providers took care of our Father/Nonno at Santa Maria, 4A at the Pasqua Hospital and Dr. Mbanza. We thank you for your support and tender care of Gino.

Mrs. Lois Joyce Stinson
October 1, 1918 - September 20, 2007
Lois Joyce Stinson, of Regina and formerly of McCord, SK passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2007, just 11 days before her 89th birthday.
She was predeceased by her husband Earl; daughter Gail Biffert and two sons-in-law Bud Clelland and Gerry Isbister.
Lois is survived by her children Joyce Isbister of Victoria, Helen Clelland, Norman (Arlene), Lorne (Doreen), Wendy (Stan) Adcock and Ken all of Regina and son-in-law Richard Biffert of Kindersley; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
The family extends a special thank you to all the staff at the Qu’Appelle House for the attention and compassion shown to mom.
A VISITATION will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Sunday, September 23, 2007 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. William "Ken" Kenneth Gray
September 6, 1928 - September 19, 2007
William Kenneth Gray was born on September 6, 1928 to Roy and Nellie Gray in Maymont and passed away peacefully on September 19, 2007 in Regina.
While Roy always had visions of Ken taking over the family farm, Ken had other dreams that he followed and began teaching school in Rutland, SK at the age of 20 years. There he met his life partner Valida Jean Miller. Ken and Valida were married December 31, 1948 and shared over 50 years of happiness together before Valida passed away August 11, 2003. Ken’s passion for teaching allowed him to have a positive impact for over thirty years on the lives of his many students. His passion has also been passed on to his grandchildren—four of whom are pursuing careers in education.
Ken leaves behind daughters Nina (Ed) Crumley, Linda (Rick) Dietrich and Sheila Leier; sons Scott (Yvonne) Gray and Kerry (Val) Gray; sister Delcie Fallis; grandchildren Robbie Goebel, Kris (Merianne) Dietrich, Aaron (Toby) Dietrich, Michael and Jody Lewchuk, Wendy (Craig) Weichel, Lindsay, Courtenay, Nathan and Issac Gray and great grandchildren Caelen, Grady and Edan Dietrich and Austin Weichel.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Serbian Club, 928 – 11th Avenue, Regina, SK on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Club International or a children’s charity that supports education or sport.
