Mr. Lloyd Rolfe Ringstad
February 10, 1906 - October 5, 2007
Lloyd was born to Mathet and Manuel Ringstad on February 10, 1906 on the family farm near Lajord, SK and passed away peacefully on October 5, 2007 at 101 years of age.
Lloyd farmed with his father, older brother Leonard and younger brother Ole until 1935 when he moved to Kronau and married Olga Hesla. They remained there farming together for 31 years. They were very active in the community that they loved so much and maintained strong friendships with other pioneers and their families. Lloyd was a dedicated Co-op member and Sask Wheat Pool member, he sat on the local school board, he worked part time for the local telephone company and kept himself busy in the garden and shop when he wasn’t in the field. He and Olga retired in 1966 and settled into their last home together on Hill Avenue. They were dedicated members of the Hillsdale Alliance Church and enjoyed a new crop of friendships. With more time in retirement they were able to travel often and so enjoyed their time in both Alberta and BC visiting with Lloyd’s brothers and their families. After 15 wonderful years together in retirement, Olga passed in 1981. He remained in their home until 2000 then spent the remainder of his life at Parkview Lodge, where he continued to enjoy new friendships.
Of the generations of family who will miss him dearly, he leaves his three nieces Opal (Alberta), Rayleen (BC), and Ann (BC) to lovingly reflect on memories of the three Ringstad brothers. Although he outlived most of his oldest, closest friends, and much of his family, the family looks forward to greeting friends and neighbours to share generations of stories and memories.
A special thank you to Pressy Lopez and her wonderful staff at Parkview Lodge for lovingly caring for Lloyd. A special thank you as well to Nurse Lee of Pasqua 3D.

GONOR, David Marcus - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Gonor on Thursday, October 4, 2007, following a tragic car accident. Dave will always live on in the hearts of his devoted wife Sue; mother Ruth Gonor, Vancouver, BC; sister Lisa Gonor, Israel; brother Saul Gonor, Saskatoon, SK; mother-in-law Leona “Fuzz” Hamm, Saskatoon, SK; brother-in-law Mike Hamm,Vernon, BC; nephews Brett and Kyle Hamm and niece Nicole Hamm, all of North Battleford, SK. He will also be greatly missed by his four legged kids Zoe and Thunder. Dave was predeceased by his father Allan Gonor; father-in-law Kevin Hamm and brother-in-law Dave Hamm. Dave grew up in North Battleford where he was actively involved in all he did. He loved time spent at the family cabin on Jackfish Lake and later at Sue’s cabin at Murray Lake. His later years were spent in Saskatoon, where he was in the car business for 30 years. He made wonderful friends and relationships in that business. He had a mutual respect with those he worked. Dave loved life and lived it to the fullest with no regrets. He spent many hours at his hobby of building, flying and crashing R.C. planes. He loved life with his wife on their acreage, their “little piece of heaven” where they hoped to spend many more years. Dave had a sense of humor that was undeniable and equally unpredictable. Not a day went by that he didn’t make someone laugh. Just being around him put a smile on your face. Dave was very close to and very much loved by all his extended family. Dave and Sue shared a love that was so special and cherished. Remember him and smile. A Memorial Service in celebration of Dave’s life will be held at Prairieland Park Trade Centre, Hall C (503 Ruth Street West, Saskatoon, SK) on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Laura Fouhse officiating. A private family interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David’s memory may be made to the SPCA and Hadassah Wizo.
