On September 14, 2007, Mrs. Hazel Otterdahl of Regina passed away at the age of 89 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three children Allan, Bruce (Betty) both of Edmonton and Carol (David) Walsh of Regina; six grandchildren Lynn (Ray) Doering, Kristine (Roeland) Baans, Curtis Otterdahl, Shannon, Paul (Amy) and Timothy Walsh; six great grandchildren Kelsey, Kaitlyn, Eric and their mother Shannon (John) Van Soest, Sydney and Rylan Doering and Claire Walsh; sister Muriel (John) Neff; brother Dean (Beatrice) Bateson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Roy; grandson David, daughter-in-law Karen Otterdahl; her parents and two older brothers.
Hazel and her late husband Roy were founding members of both St. Andrew's and Lakeview United Churches. She was also a charter member of the Lakeside Lioness Club and was subsequently awarded a life membership. Hazel’s active community life in Regina spanned over forty years, interrupted only by the death of her husband Roy in 1982. However, it was her lifetime commitment, sacrifice and love of family that defined her being and for which she will be dearly remembered.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Sunset Extendicare for their compassionate care of our mother.
A CELEBRATION OF HAZEL'S LIFE will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK. A private family interment will precede the celebration in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Mr. Waylan Romansky
October 28, 1969 - September 19, 2007
Waylan Scott Romansky passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 37 years of age. He is survived by his daughter Angelique; Father Martin (Theresa); Sister Belinda (Dave) and their children Kristina, Kayla, Hannah and Lane; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; Waylan was pre-deceased by his mother Florence. Waylan was born and raised on a farm near Glentworth, SK. During his youth he loved playing hockey and baseball. After High School he made numerous friends working and residing in Regina, Penticton, Calgary and finally settling home here in Saskatoon. Waylan was employed in a number of aspects of the construction trade including framing, drywalling, concrete and heavy duty equipment operation. Being the “Jack of all Trades” he was also an avid gardener and an exceptional cook. All of his friends and family benefited from his many talents as he was always the first to lend a helping hand. Waylan will be sorely missed by all those who had the opportunity to benefit from his friendship and his generosity. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 24th, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. from Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway crossing) with Clark Puckett Officiating. Carol Ann Edmonds
August 7, 1946 - September 20, 2007
Edmonds – The passing of Carol Ann Edmonds, age 61 years, occurred at St. Paul’s Hospital, Palliative Care on Thursday, September 20th, 2007. Carol Ann is survived by one daughter Tracie (Richard) Janzen, Saskatoon, SK, and their children Quinn, Keaton and Carter; son Kevin Edmonds, Dalmeny, SK., and his children Cole and Hunter; parents Leslie and Irene Wetter, Saskatoon, SK., and many special friends. Carol Ann worked for 40 years at McDougall & Gauley. She enjoyed and had a keen interest in photography. She also cherished the time spent with her five grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 24th, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th street, turn right before the railway crossing) with Clark Puckett officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Donations in Carol Ann’s memory may be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre (20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK. S7N 4H4). Mrs. Helen Joyce Doucette
December 7, 1930 - September 14, 2007
Helen Joyce Doucette, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2007 at the age of 76 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Marcel; her daughter Susan Hood and her grandson Christopher Hood.
Helen is survived by her daughter Jeanne (Doug) Elphick; two sons John and Rob (Shelley); grandchildren Shawn Elphick (Naomi), Ryan Elphick (Sunny), Michael Vogel, Nicholas Hood and Danielle Hood; great grandchildren Jaece Elphick and Emma Vogel.
A GATHERING for family and friends will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 2:30 p.m.

Mrs. Jeanie Appleyard
May 12, 1918 - September 20, 2007
Jeanie Appleyard (nee Goodwillie) was born on May 12, 1918 in Langford Municipality near Neepawa, Manitoba to Charles and Magdelina Goodwillie and passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Pioneer Village in Regina.
Jeanie served in the Naval Department in Halifax during World War II and on returning to Winnipeg became a valuable employee of the CPR Telegraphs. In 1953, Jeanie married William “Bill” Appleyard and was a homemaker and mother to Wayne and Elaine.
She was predeceased by her parents and brothers John (Mary) and George.
Jeanie is survived by her husband Bill; children Wayne (Rebeca) and Elaine (Bob) Ainslie; granddaughters Laura-Lynn, Shannon and Jennifer and sister-in-law Charlotte; as well as nieces, nephews and their families.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3720 Hill Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Doreen Velma Parker
October 3, 1918 - September 21, 2007
Doreen Velma Parker, dearly loved mother of Linda Leader, Carole Blewett and Allan Parker, passed away in Regina on Friday, September 21, 2007 with her family present.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2003 and an infant daughter Mary in 1942.
Doreen was born October 3, 1918 to Frank and Lottie Argue from Midland, ON who had settled in Fyfe Lake in southern Saskatchewan. Doreen was one of five siblings all of whom survive her: Hazel Lander, Vancouver, BC; Jean Leake, Regina, SK; twin brother Dorland Argue, Calgary, AB; and Roma Paterson, Comox, BC. Besides Linda, Carole and Allan, she is survived by Rob Leader and Valerie Parker to whom she was a well loved and respected mother-in-law. She was a cherished grandmother to three grandsons: Dane and Shelley Graburn and Sara; Steven and Chris Leader, Kayla, James and Jordan; Craig Leader and fiancée Gina Sawchin and one granddaughter Kelly and Jim Parker Cates, Zoe and Connor.
Although Doreen was born in Moose Jaw, she was raised in Regina where she met Jim at the Trianon Ballroom. In 1938 they were married and moved to the family farm at Simpson, SK where they raised their three children.
In 1972 they retired and moved to Regina where they enjoyed closer contact with their children. They joined the Regina Lawn Bowling Club and became very involved with the club and the sport. Together Jim and Doreen travelled to almost every province attending National Competitions, often as competitors. During her competitive years, Doreen won Silver and Bronze medals in National competitions. Doreen served as President of the Regina Lawn Bowling Club and as President of the Saskatchewan Ladies Lawn Bowling Association. She also served as the Saskatchewan Provincial Director for a full term. She became an international judge officiating at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, BC. In recognition of her devotion to the sport, she was awarded the 2001 Award of Merit by Bowls Canada.
Doreen was a skillful homemaker and crafter; over the years she knit everything from mittens to curling sweaters for her family. She created especially fine petit point needlework, which quickly became treasured family heirlooms.
Jim and Doreen had moved to Marian Chateau in 2000. Since May, failing health had determined her relocation to Sunset Extendicare.
The family extends its sincere appreciation to the staff at Marian Chateau and Sunset Extendicare for their kindness to their mother.
A SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE AND CELEBRATION will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
