It is with profound grief that the family of Carol Elaine Merle (nee Adams) announces her passing of Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the age of a far too young 61 years.
She was predeceased by her parents Martha (nee Mehrer) and Phillip Adams and one nephew Gregory.
Elaine will be forever missed by her only daughter Lise and her partner Jason Gasmo; cherished and adored grandchildren Austin and Merah; siblings Malcolm (Adeline) Adams, Dal (Betty) Adams, Elnore Schultz and her closest sister and lifelong source of entertainment Connie (Erwin) Rathgeber; special sister-in-law Karen Adams; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews and all of their precious children. Elaine also leaves to cherish her memory a very close circle of friends, Jae Sherris, Lorna Vickers, Sandi Ullman, Vallerina Blum, Arlene Lloyd and Marilyn Lorence.
Her family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the family, friends, co-workers and wonderful neighbours who provided her with such a phenomenal support during her illness.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Ella Jane Sparkes
April 23, 1922 - October 11, 2007
On October 11, 2007, Ella Jane Sparkes went to be with her Lord at the age of 85 years. Born on April 23, 1922, in Pense, SK to parents William Clark Moffatt and Winnifred Georgina (Finke), they both predeceased her in 1952.
Ella is survived by her brother Clarence "Red" (Rowena) Moffatt; niece Carol Bailes and nephew Doug Moffatt all of Ontario.
She was also predeceased by her sisters Irene Tyler and Doreen Moffatt and nephew Ronald Moffatt.
A CELEBRATION OF ELLA'S LIFE will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Celebration Lutheran Church, 3130 Renfrew Crescent East, Regina, SK with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Interment will take place at Regina City Cemetery on 4th Avenue and Broad Street following the lunch.
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Celebration Lutheran Church.

Tunia Perehudoff
February 22, 1917 - October 7, 2007
PEREHUDOFF, Tunia (Tunie) passed away on October 7, 2007. She was born in the Langham district to George and Dora Popoff on Feb. 22, 1917. She grew up with her siblings, Helen, Mike and George and John (deceased in infancy). She married William J. (Bill) Perehudoff in 1935 and they resided in the River Hill District of Blaine Lake SK. She lived on the farm where her two wonderful daughters Geraldine and Valerie were born and raised. She lived the typical farm wife and mother life style sharing in the farm duties and growing a huge garden every year. In 1967, Tunie and Bill embarked on a new “city” life and she began her career in the dietary department of Saskatoon City Hospital. She enjoyed her eleven years at “City Hospital” and retired in 1978. She resided through out Saskatoon and lived her retirement years at Cosmopolitan Court, Eamer and the last few years at Stensrud Lodge. Tunie was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was hard working and had a high level of morals and a strong belief in the Doukhobor religion and way of life. She was proud of her heritage and displayed it by singing in the choir and for many years baking bread at the “Ex”. Tunie joins in eternal life her husband Bill, daughters Geraldine and Valerie and granddaughter Lorie as well as her parents, siblings and other family. She leaves many ever lasting and wonderful memories to her grandsons Bryon Marion, his daughter Moniquea, Darren Ooms; wife Colleen and their sons Joel and Ryan, granddaughters Connie Camponi; husband Marty and their children Chris and Danielle and Shanon Langenfurth and husband Darrin. As well, her sons-in-law Art Marion and Rienus Ooms and numerous nieces and nephews. A remembrance service of Tunie’s life will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8Th Street, right turn before railway crossing) on Thursday October 11, 2007 at 10 A M with viewing commencing at 9:00 A M. Mr. Bill Kalmakoff will lead the service with the Saskatoon Doukhobor Society Choir providing the singing. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Our family would like to express our gratitude to all of the health care givers who looked after her. In lieu of floral gifts, Tunie has requested that donations be made to The Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation We love you Grandma and will miss you. We won’t cry for you. Instead we’ll watch the setting sun as a backdrop to the golden wheat sheaves and always remember you. Arrangements are entrusted to Dawn Engel, HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME.
Jureen Nordness
May 25, 1916 - October 8, 2007
NORDNESS - The passing of Jureen Nordness occurred on Monday, October 8, 2007 at the age of 91 years. He is predeceased by his wife Julia. He is survived by their five children Mervin (Judy) Nordness, Marlene Pressacco (Ted Sten), Evelyn (Ernest) Boyko, Robert Nordness (Tim Taylor), Shari Johnston; lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother-in-law Odell Hillstead; sister-in-law Mary (Keith) Bright, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jureen was born in Binford, North Dakota May 25, 1916 and as a very small child immigrated to Canada with his father. They settled in the community of Nora, SK and worked hard to build a family farm. Dad had an affinity for animals and loved his early farming with horses. After moving to Saskatoon in 1969 Dad was able to continue his love of animals by working at the Forestry Farm. While a quiet man, Dad loved time spent with family. He was immensely proud of his ability to provide for his family and he was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A private family Memorial Service will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home with burial of the cremated remains at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Ken Scheirich at HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME, Saskatoon.
James Veitch
February 15, 1901 - October 8, 2007
VEITCH, James passed away peacefully at Parkridge Centre on October 8th, 2007 at the age of 106. He is survived by sons Terry (Adelyne) and Donald (Margaret); grandchildren Kevin (Tracy), Darren (Jaqueline), Mike, Chris (Renee), Candace (Darryl), Landry (Jenn), TerriLynn (Ryan); 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his wife, Lillian. A special thank you to all the staff at Parkridge Centre for their love and care. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 12th, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway crossing). Helen Wagman (nee Diewold) passed away with her family at her side on Monday, October 15, 2007 at the age of 87 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank; parents Albinus and Barbara Diewold; brothers Tony, Phil, Henry, Adam, John and Albert and sisters Katherine, Lucy and Florence.
Helen will be lovingly remembered by her children Ernie (Pat) of Regina and their daughters Sherri and Shelly; Roy (Doreen) of Odessa and their children Tom, Raylene (Mouse) and Nelson; Reg (Elaine) of Balgonie and their daughter Tracey; Jim (Linda) of Regina and their children Kara and Rob; and Irene (Renie) Forster of Regina and her sons Jeff and Brent; numerous great grandchildren; three sisters Mary (Emil) Leibel of Balgonie, Elizabeth Wilks of Regina and Clara (Pete) Grzyb of Regina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A FUNERAL MASS will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Balgonie, SK on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 7:30 p.m.

McBride, Roy McBride, beloved husband of Alice McBride, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 14th, 2007 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, October 16th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right just before the railway crossing). Roy’s remains will be returned to Spokane, WA. for a service and interment later in the week. Arrangements are entrusted to Neysa Gee, HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME.

TURNBULL – The passing of Ira Turnbull occurred on Sunday, October 14th, 2007 at his residence. He is survived by his wife Marion and children Joanne (Peter White) and Ruth. He was predeceased by brothers Allan 1992, William 1997, Kenneth 2003; sister Helen Lloyd 2000; sister-in-law “Billie” Turnbull 2007; father Allan 1927; mother Mary Turnbull 1987. Ira was a retired UIC Auditor and a Member of the Kinsmen, as well as an active member of the P.A. Outing Club. Ira served in the RCAF during WWII and after was enlisted in the Reserve Army for many years. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 19th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church (Broadway Avenue & 7th Street). Donations in Ira’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (104 – 2301 Avenue C. North, Saskatoon, SK) or the charity of choice. Special thanks to the physicians and nursing staff at St. Paul’s Hospital, Palliative Care Unit and home care support team for their excellent care that enabled Ira to pass away at home.
