JOHN FRANCIS (JACK) THIBEAU, lifelong resident of Moose Jaw, passed away suddenly but peacefully on June 24, 2001 at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by his mother, Beatrice, father, Theophille, brothers, Dennis, Gordon and Leo, sister, Cecelia and a niece, Denise. Jack is survived by his sister, Agnes George of Victoria, two sisters-in-law, Francis of Victoria and Zelda of Vancouver and nieces, Gisele and Patsy, nephews, Alex, Gordon, Ian, Joey, and John Paul and their families. “Hank” worked in construction at SaskTel as a plowcat operator for over thirty-five years. This type of work solidified his love for the outdoors. As an avid photographer, his photography collection verifies his love for Moose Jaw. He had a keen interest in the ‘goings on’ in the city. Jack will be remembered by fellow Moose Javians by the ‘old guy flying his kite’ in Crescent Park or sitting at Zellers having his coffee. Even though Jack was a bachelor, he enjoyed spending time with family – especially visiting with his sister, Agnes at his niece’s home and cabin. It was here that Jack was able to enjoy another of his favourite pastimes, birdwatching. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, (Father Lawless Council No. 1534). Jack was a quiet and gentle man and will be sadly missed by his family and neighbours, especially Dora Davies and Willie Moser – thank you for the special care given to Jack and to all those who touched his life on a daily basis. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, July 6, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064-3rd Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw. Reverend Father David Cottingham C.Ss.R. will preside.
