GRANT ANDERSON

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Grant Eugene Anderson on Sunday October 13, 2002 at the age of 78 years. He was born on July 27, 1924 in Hoquim, Washington, U.S.A. Grant served overseas in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII and returned to Winnipeg, then moving to Moose Jaw where he married his dear wife, Helen on February 2, 1949. Grant served with the Moose Jaw Fire Department, retiring as Deputy Chief in 1985. He was a well known business man until selling Freeman Agencies in 1978. Grant enjoyed fishing, golfing, curling, playing cards until the wee hours, and especially enjoyed his family and garden. Grant will be sadly missed by his wife, Helen; son, Del (Bev), Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Stacy (Mike), Cochrane, AB.; Derek (Carrie) and great- granddaughter, Kali, Moose Jaw; Ken (Deb), Granum, AB.; daughter, Penny (Don) McRobb, Regina; grandchildren: Tisha and great-granddaughter, Jade, Regina; Jock (Sherri) and great- grandson, JR, Brooks, AB.; and his many other relatives and friends. Grant always created a loving home for his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile and his love. In keeping with Grant’s wish, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Following cremation, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. Fire Fighters Burn Fund, Box 244, Regina, Sask. S4P 2Z6, or the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, would be appreciated. In living memory of Grant, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ROBERT KOBITZSCH

Mr. Robert Kobitzsch passed away peacefully at Extendicare Centre on Saturday May 19, 2001 at the age of 81 years. Robert served with the R.C.A.F. in England during World War II. He was an Engineer with C.P.R. until retiring in 1981. Robert is predeceased by his parents: Marie and Paul; brothers and sisters: Nels, Margaret, Bernie, Hiney, and Helen. He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Connie (Robert) Hunter – La Ronge; son, Roger (Karen) – Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Jennifer, Benjamin, and Chrystina – La Ronge; sister, Anne Bucklee – Red Deer; as well as many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Robert’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Following cremation, private family memorialization will take place at a later date. In living memory of Robert, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley Parkland by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ILENE DONEY

ILENE REBECCA ANNA DONEY of Moose Jaw, passed away suddenly Monday, May 28, 2001 at the age of 80 years. She was born June 12, 1920, the youngest of three girls to Hugh and Violet Flack. Ilene married Eric Doney on August 12, 1942 and together they shared 56 years and raised four children. Ilene had tremendous will and persevered through years of severe arthritis. After the war years, Eric and Ilene farmed south of Boharm for many years until health problems forced them both to reside in Providence Place. Their son Bill and grandson Jason still farm the original homestead. Ilene was predeceased by her parents, husband Eric, grandson Dean Sorsdahl, sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Allan Campbell; brothers-in-law Harold, Don & Vivian Doney, niece Brenda Doney; sisters-in-law Joyce (Clark) Owens and Marguerite Dodd. She is survived by her four children and eight grandchildren, daughter Lynn Sorsdahl, Chad and Kevin of Kelowna; twin daughters Marilyn (Harold) Litzenberger, Greg, Blair and Michael of Regina; Marlene (Lee) Ganyo of Moose Jaw; son Bill (Donna) Doney, Jason, Kurtis and Amber of Moose Jaw district. Also surviving are her sister Bernice Doney, brother-in-law Ralph (Alma) Doney, sister-in-law Allie Doney as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Following cremation, The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Private memorialization will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials for the Arthritis Society, 110-2550-12 Ave., Regina, Sask., S4P 3X1 would be appreciated. In living memory of Ilene, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

MARGARET McINTYRE

Margaret McIntyre of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully at Providence Place on May 5, 2002 at the age of 89 years. Margaret was born in Moose Jaw in 1912 and attended Alexander and Victoria Schools and Central Collegiate. She was employed as a bookkeeper for a number of years before becoming office manager of Dr.McIntyre’s practice for 17 years. She then returned to University, having completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree and completed her Education Degree. She was then employed with the Moose Jaw Public School Board as Librarian Supervisor until her retirement in 1977. Having the Resource Center at the Public School Board Office named for her was a great honor. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling and getting together with friends to play bridge. She especially loved family get-togethers. Predeceased by her parents, William and Mary McIntyre; one brother, Ronald; and sister-in-law, Mary. She is survived by one niece, Joan Whiteside – Montreal; nephews: John (Phyllis) – Salmon Arm, B.C.; and Jim (Cathy) - Sherwood Park, Ab.; nine great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews. Following Cremation, A Memorial Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 9, 2002 at 1:30 pm. Linda Owens will officiate. Memorialization will take place at the Family Plot, Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials to the Zion United Church Organ Fund, would be appreciated. In living memory of Margaret, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ELVERA CHELSBERG

ELVERA CHELSBERG (nee Wendt), of Providence Place, Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2002. Born February 5, 1915 in the Chaplin area, Elvera was one of seven children. She completed her grade eight at Bothwell School, north of Chaplin. Elvera married Leonard Chelsberg of the Darmody district on March 28, 1933 at the Lutheran Church in Moose Jaw. She stayed home helping on the farm and raising their two children, Lorne and Jeanette. In 1972, the Chelsberg’s retired and moved to Moose Jaw. She enjoyed playing the piano and played in an orchestra. Elvera had become a resident of Providence Place June 1, 1995. Predeceased by her husband, Leonard Henry in 1994, brothers, Armie, Raymond (Marge) and Arthur, and a great- grandson, Aaron Brandon. Elvera is survived by her children, Lorne (Ida) Chelsberg of Moose Jaw and Jeanette (Bernie) Brandon of Parkbeg; grandchildren: Todd (Marla) Brandon, Melodie, Jackie, Jeff (Lana), Dean (Laurel), Jo-Anne (Kelvin); great-grandchildren, Jade, Nicolle, Jordan, Raegan and Chad, Jacob, Brodie, Bryce, Brock, Brett, Trista, Tyson, Travis and Shayla; sisters, Elsie Olson, Lina Smith and Merle (Bob) Evans and her sisters-in-law, Laura Lewis and Betty Wendt. Following cremation, A Graveside Service will be held at the Family Plot, Rosedale Cemetery on Monday, July 29, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. Friends so wising may join the cortege at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m. Marvin Seaborg will officiate. Memorials for the Providence Place Foundation, 100, Second Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 1B8 would be appreciated. In living memory of Elvera, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JOSE APARICIO

It is with saddened hearts the family of Jose Luis Aparicio announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, May 26, 2001 at Regina General Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan, at the age of 47 years. Born on May 31, 1953 in Malaga, Spain, Jose came to Canada in August 1976. Upon his arrival Jose worked in construction, and later ran his own business. In 1987, Jose started working for C.P. Rail, where he was employed until his passing. He will be forever remembered by all who knew him. Predeceased by his parents, a brother and a nephew. Jose will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Allison, sons, Christobal and Marco, daughter, Cara and their mother, Diane Thul – all of Estevan, Saskatchewan; step-sons, Vance Setter of Moose Jaw, Troy (Jody) Setter of Moose Jaw and step-daughter, Darlene Setter of Lethbridge, Alberta; three brothers and four sisters and their spouses - all of Malaga, Spain; his grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and in Spain. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 31, 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 223 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 0E1 would be appreciated. In living memory of Jose, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

EDYTHE IRELAND

EDYTHE ROSEMARY IRELAND, longtime resident of the Mossbank community, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 26, 2001 at the age of 83. Predeceased by her father and mother, Fred and Rose Lee; husband, Harvey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Josiah and Evelyn Ireland; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Stella and Archie MacTavish; and brother-in-law Jack Ottley. Beloved mother of Nelson, Mossbank; and Bryan (Diana), Moose Jaw; and grandmother of James, UK; and Brenda (Alan) Wallace, Saskatoon; and great grandmother of Veronica and Eric Wallace. Survived also by her brother Gordon (Agnes) Lee, Kamloops; and sister Eva Ottley, Victoria; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Edythe enjoyed the Royal Purple, visiting with friends and relatives, traveling and reading. Donations in Edythe’s memory may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at the Mossbank United Church, Mossbank, Saskatchewan, on Saturday March 31, 2001 at 2:00 pm. Reverend Chuck Alton officiating. Interment in the Mossbank Cemetery will take place at a later date.
