MR. WIEBE “BILL” DANTUMA of Central Butte, Saskatchewan, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2001. Born in Holland in 1932, Bill was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Grietja. He is survived by two sisters: Teresa and Loesa - both in Holland and one brother, Klaas (Tina) Dantuma in Tsawwassen, B.C. Following cremation, A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the Central Butte Regency Manor. Memorialization will take place at a later date. For those so wishing, donations can be made to Central Butte Fire and Rescue. In living memory of Bill, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by Prairie Memorial Funeral Home.
DOROTHY ENO
MRS. DOROTHY M. ENO (Sharpe), of Moose Jaw, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2001 at the age of 90 years. Dorothy was born in Moose Jaw on December 23, 1910. She attended King George Public School, Central Collegiate and the Moose Jaw Normal School. Upon completion of her teacher training, Dorothy taught in Vanguard, Rutherford, Davey and later on in Moose Jaw. In 1938 Dorothy married Everett Eno. They were blessed with two daughters, Gail and Linda. Dorothy’s family was always of utmost importance to her and she dearly loved her frequent trips to visit her daughters and their families in Edmonton and Coquitlam. Throughout her life Dorothy was a very active member of St. Andrew’s United Church. At different times she was Superintendent of the Kindergarten Sunday School, leader of various girls’ groups as well as being a member of Club XVI and the U.C.W. Dorothy was incredibly active and independent. Her zest for life never seemed to falter. She was always trying something new whether it be traveling, lawn bowling, golfing, oil painting, china painting or knitting. Right up to the end she maintained her membership in Canadian Club and the Superannuated Teachers’ Group. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Everett, her parents, Margaret and John Sharpe, her brother, Norm and her sisters, Betty and Lil. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Vi, of Toronto, her daughter, Gail Bartoshewski, her son-in-law, Syl of Edmonton, her daughter, Linda Wedel of Coquitlam, four grandchildren: Shannon and Shawn Bartoshewski, Kurt and Kelly Wedel and her two great-grandchildren, Christopher Goeres and Neo Gleason as well as by many nieces and nephews and her many dear friends from throughout the years. The Funeral Service will be held in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Peter J. Calhoun will officiate. Cremation will take place with memorialization in the Prairie Memorial Columbarium at a later time. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathy may donate to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 4P2. RUDOLPH (RUDY) WENDEL
Mr. Rudolph (Rudy) William Wendel of Moose Jaw passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2002 at Regency Manor, Central Butte, with his family at his side. Rudolph was born March 4, 1904 in Germany. In 1906 he immigrated to Canada with his family. Rudolph married Emma Ast on February 16, 1930. They farmed in the Central Butte district until 1954 when they moved to Moose Jaw. Rudolph enjoyed fishing, playing cards, working on his John Deere Model D tractor and spending time with his family and friends. Predeceased by his wife Emma (August 7, 2002) and six brothers and sisters, Rudolph is survived by his son, Reiny (Vionne) – Central Butte; granddaughter, Denise (Gordon) Poulton – Regina; and Charlene (Rick) Spanjer – Moose Jaw; and great-grandchildren: Michael and Krista Poulton; Amber, Daniel, and Candace Spanjer. Rudolph is also survived by his brother, Emil (Ida) Wendel and his sister, Ella Graham; as well as many special nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Central Lutheran Church, 27 Hochelaga St. W., Moose Jaw on Friday, October 11, 2002 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Regency Manor, Central Butte, S0H 0T0, would be appreciated by the family. EMMA J. WENDEL
EMMA JUSTINA WENDEL (nee Ast) of Moose Jaw, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital with her family by her side. Emma was born August 24, 1909 at Zehner, Saskatchewan. Emma and her husband Rudolf farmed in the Central Butte district until 1954 when they moved to Moose Jaw. Emma enjoyed crocheting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and never missed baking a birthday cake for her family. Predeceased by her parents and five brothers and sisters, Emma is survived by her husband of 72 years, Rudolf, her son, Reiny (Vionne) Wendel of Central Butte; granddaughters: Denise (Gordon) Poulton of Regina and Charlene (Rick) Spanjer of Moose Jaw; great-grandchildren: Michael and Krista Poulton; Amber, Daniel and Candace Spanjer. Emma is also survived by her brother-in-law, Emil (Ida) Wendel and sister-in-law, Ella Graham as well as many special nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 27 Hochelaga St. W., Moose Jaw. Reverend John Kreutzwieser will officiate. It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, grandfather and godfather, MR. RON INVERARITY of Keeler, Saskatchewan. To our dearest Ron, we will miss you deeply. You’ll always be a part of us. You were our inspiration, our courage and our faith. Your love embraces us all. Ron was a true friend to all that knew him. You were always the first to offer advice and friendship, no one could have given more in a lifetime and asked for so little in return. We Love You Ron. Ron was born August 1, 1946 in Moose Jaw and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 24th, 2001. Ron, you were a truly great person. You touched the lives of everyone you knew. Your greatest joy was in your family, you were always there for everyone and you had a great passion for life. Your zest for life and your drive to succeed was evident in everything you did. Your door and your heart were always open to everyone. You were our rock - our strength. You were always there when we needed advice or a sympathetic ear. You were a fundamental part of the Keeler community. Predeceased by Audrey - his loving wife of 25 years and his father, James Inverarity. Ron is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Maureen of Keeler, daughter, Tammy (Cory) Cozart of Moose Jaw, son, Les (Barb) Inverarity of Moose Jaw, his very special grandchildren: Andrea, Cody, Kyle, Chaydin, Christopher and Mathew; Maureen’s children: Cindy (Dave) Trevena, Randy From, Maureen’s grandchildren: Jennifer, Randi, Miranda, Amy and Allison, his mother, Grace Inverarity of Moose Jaw; sisters: Merle Inverarity of Moose Jaw and Linda MacDonald of Courtenay, B.C. as well as many other relatives and dear friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 30th, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church, 60 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening, (January 28th) from 7-9 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Mrs. Ruby Keens of Moose Jaw, passed away on August 17, 2001. Ruby is survived by her husband, Jack – Moose Jaw; four sons: Brett (Michelle) Fort McMurray, Alta.; Robert (Caron) – Moose Jaw; Curtis (Carla) – Calgary; Chad (Cindy) Moose Jaw; eight grandchildren; sisters: Shirley (George) Paulenko; Helena (Hugh) Kines; Edith Cheropita; Kay (Hector) Topham; and one brother, Bill (Mary) Truffyn. In keeping with the families wishes, following cremation there will be a private family Memorialization at a later date. MARY GILLESPIE
MARY GILLESPIE of Extendicare, Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2001 at the age of 91 years. She was born in Moose Jaw on December 3, 1909. Mary is survived by one daughter, Eva Koznuik (John) of Castlegar, B.C. and one son, Bill Gillespie (Eileen) of Winnipeg, Man., one sister, Dorothy Illingworth of Lethbridge and one brother, Jack (Jessie) McClelland of Saskatoon. She had four grandchildren: Brent (Barbara) Gillespie, Alan (Theresa) Gillespie of Winnipeg, Stephen ( Tracy ) McFadden of Genelle, B.C. and Colleen (Kelly) Taylor of Rossland. Mary is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred in 1987, three sisters and five brothers. A private family graveside service was held on Monday, September 10, 2001 at Sunset Cemetery. Reverend Dr. Bob Kimmerly officiated. The family wish to express their gratitude to all the staff at Extendicare Nursing Home, Moose Jaw. In living memory of Mary, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J.
