Robert “Bob” G. Winkler of Parkbeg, Sask., passed away Friday, August 23, 2002 at the Central Butte Hospital. Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his son, Wayne (Deb) – Parkbeg; daughter, Chantell (Jason) Robertson and grandchildren, Devin and Brittany of Sudbury; brothers: George (Muriel) - Belleville; Don (Rosalyn) – Edmonton; Ralph (Audrey) – Calgary; Randy (Kris) – Winnipeg; sisters; Gladys (Tom) Altman - Moose Jaw; Pat (Robert) Stevenson – Regina; as well as many nieces and nephews. Following Cremation, a Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. CONRAD GRASDAL
CONRAD JOHN GRASDAL of Parkbeg, Saskatchewan – With our deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Conrad, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 30, 2001 at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Christine Grasdal. He will be forever loved and missed by survivors; wife, Muriel, children: Terry (Joan) of Moose Jaw, Doug (Shelly) of Lethbridge, Allen (IsMary) of Calgary, Shirley (Darrel Kinneberg) of Elk Point, Alta., Helen (Wayne Kozakewich) of Calgary, Paul (Barb Newsham) of Parkbeg, and Ken (Heather Schaffer) of Regina; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers and sisters: Martin (June) of Vancouver, Alvin (Margaret) of Sherwood Park, Ina (Jack Duckworth) of Moose Jaw, Ray (Connie) of Calgary, Mabel (Jim Crozier) of Mission, B.C., Elmer (Terry) of Biggar, Carl (June) of Calgary, Ernie (Gerda) of Langley, B.C., Lloyd (Georgia) of Parkbeg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Conrad served in the RCAF, in the Second World War in 1942 where he met wife Muriel. Following the War they moved to farm north of Parkbeg where they raised their family. In 1997 Conrad and wife moved to Moose Jaw. Conrad was a kind, gentle, soft spoken individual who cared about a lot of things and people. He loved sports and was an avid baseball player and curler in his younger years. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 27 Hochelaga St. W., Moose Jaw. Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted by Moose Jaw Branch #59. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550-12th Ave., Regina, Sask., S4P 3X1. DAVID ALEXANDER
MR. DAVID ALEXANDER of Avonlea, Saskatchewan, passed away on Thursday, March 8th, 2001 at the age of 78 years. David was born April 15th, 1922 on the family farm at Crystal Hill, Saskatchewan. After his return from the Army following the Second World War, he farmed in the Crystal Hill area until his retirement to Avonlea in 1985. He was a member of the Avonlea United Church, Avonlea-Rouleau Masonic Lodge, Avonlea Branch #236 Royal Canadian Legion and the Friendly Neighbour Drop-In Centre. Predeceased by his parents, Sam and Velma Alexander, wife, Elsie in 1978, daughter, Velma in 1949, two brothers, Robert and Wes, David is survived by children, Mary (Richard) Thomas of Weyburn, Neil (Ann) of Avonlea, Christine Ruth Alexander (Colin Anderson) of New Zealand and George of Avonlea, two sisters, Esther Alexander of Regina and Shirley (Gordon) Engstrom of Assiniboia, two brothers, Morley (Betty) of Regina Beach and John (Judy) of Saskatoon, grandchildren, David, Mike and Andy Thomas, Laura and Kirsty Anderson, sister-in-law, Phyllis Alexander of Pense as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 13th, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Avonlea United Church. Reverend Don Bater will officiate. Interment will take place Tuesday morning (10:00 a.m.) in Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw and those wishing to attend may meet at the main cemetery gates. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 12th, 7-9 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Avonlea United Church, Avonlea Branch Palliser Regional Library, Avonlea and District First Responders or to a charity of your choice.
MABEL NASH
MABEL E. NASH, age 66 years, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2001 with her family by her side. Mabel was born April 1, 1935 at Frobisher, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Agatha Luedtke, a sister, Margaret Rose and brothers, Edgar and Arthur Luedtke. Mabel is survived by her husband, Don of 44 years, her son, Rodney (Geri Lynn) of Mortlach, and daughter Janice in Moose Jaw. Granddaughters, Megan and Jenna of Mortlach were her great pride and joy. Mabel is also survived by a sister, Nina of Vancouver and sisters, Frances and Marlene of Saskatoon, her brother, Larry of Saskatoon, sister-in-law, Dorothy Luedtke of Regina, sisters-in-law, Lillian of Delta, B.C. and Patricia Ward of Moose Jaw, brothers-in-law, Alfred of Regina and Arthur of Eyebrow as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Mabel was a very compassionate person and a wonderful homemaker.

Following cremation, A Memorial Service will be held at the Salvation Army Church, 2 Wintergreen Drive, Moose Jaw at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2001. Reverend Gerard Corby will officiate. MARJORIE EDWARDS
MRS. MARJORIE EVA EDWARDS of Capilano Court passed away in the Moose Jaw Union Hospital on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at the age of 83 years. She was born in Winnipeg, June 9, 1918 to parents Charles and Eva Winemark. Throughout her younger years she lived with her parents in Calgary and Toronto before settling in Moose Jaw. There she met and married Bill Edwards on November 22, 1941. She worked at Peacock High School and later at the ABC Day Care. She was a longtime active member of St. Andrew’s United Church and had a Life Membership in the U.C.W. being in the Phoenix Group. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Bill in 1993; her parents, Charles and Eva; her sister, Hazel and her brother, Edward (Buster). She will be greatly missed by her three children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Son, Bill (Gloria): Chad and Mark of Regina and Jason of Calgary; daughter, Marjorie Anne (Pleun) Notenboom of Penticton, B.C.: Coby (Dave) Tschanz and Julia of Victoria; Len (Cheryl) of Calgary and Dave in Grande Prairie; daughter, Barbara (Les) Rogers of St. Albert, Penny (Guy) VanBeukenhout and Dawson and Cassandra of Regina, Vicky of Saskatoon and Tim from Edmonton. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Monday, December 3, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Peter J. Calhoun and C. Lind Barbour will officiate. Memorialization of cremated remains will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium, Rosedale Cemetery. LILA HILLING
LILA EVELYN HILLING (nee Patterson) was born near Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on February 28, 1918. Lila passed away quietly on Sunday, October 7, 2001. She was raised at Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and married Rupert Hilling on December 28, 1946 and the couple later moved to a farm near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Lila was predeceased by her husband, Rupert, she is survived by two sons: Dennis (Julie) Hilling, (former daughter-in-law, Carol Ann and their children Jennifer (Al) Schuett and Michael) and Glen (Bonnie) Hilling and their children, Scott and Andrea. In keeping with Lila’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation will take place with private family memorialization in the family plot at Sunset Cemetery. Della Ferguson will officiate. Family and friends are invited to share in a time of remembrance on Saturday, October 13, 2001 from 2-4 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw.
