DOROTHY MAY COOPER (WILSON), born October 23, 1923 in Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully in the Union Hospital on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at the age of 78 years. She married Sidney Cooper of Keeler. Dorothy enjoyed watching hockey and baseball with Sid. Predeceased by her parents, Innes and Minnie, a brother, Ralph and two sons: David and Calvin. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Sid, her daughter, Marilyn (Jerry) Cox; granddaughter, Nicole – all of Calgary and two sisters: Freda Swanson of Brownlee and Hazel Fowle of California. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Dr. Bob Kimmerly will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. In living memory of Dorothy, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. EDGAR DUNLOP
EDGAR RUSSELL DUNLOP of Extendicare Nursing Home, Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2001 at the age of 97 years. Born October 22, 1904 on a farm south of Baildon, North West Territories to Andrew and Alice Dunlop. He attended Cataraqui School and then farmed the home farm until 1965 when he retired and moved to Moose Jaw. Edgar married Rachel Christina Hoath on October 7, 1936 in Moose Jaw. He was secretary treasurer for the Moose Jaw Granton and Blue Hill Telephone Company for 35 years. Edgar attended Baildon United Church and Minto United Church, Moose Jaw. He was a faithful member of the Orange Lodge in Moose Jaw. Edgar was a Trustee of Cataraqui School; Secretary of Helping Hand Mutual Association; belonged to the Haunted Hills Grazing Co-op; Baildon Fodder Co-op; Farm Forum and was a long-time member of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew in 1920, mother, Alice in 1961, wife, Rachel in June 2001, daughter, Lois Buck in April 2001, brothers, John in 1913 and Kenneth in 1944, sisters, Marguerite in 1961 and Gertrude in 1978. Edgar leaves to mourn his son, Francis (Jean) of Saskatoon, daughters, Marian Dunlop of Moose Jaw, Shirley (Milton) Neill of Kelliher, SK., Donna (Jackson) Buch of Kelowna, B.C. and Wendy (Jerry) Exner of Calgary, AB, son-in-law, Frank Buck of Regina, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three nephews and one niece of B.C. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Interment will take place in the family plot, Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Extendicare Nursing Home, 1151 Coteau St. W., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 5G5 or to a charity of one’s choice. ELIZABETH (BETH) OTTLEY (ROBERTSON)
ELIZABETH (BETH) OTTLEY (ROBERTSON) of Moose Jaw, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2001 at the age of 90 years. Beth was predeceased by her husband, Jim, four brothers: Allan, Bill, Alex and Charlie Robertson; two sisters: Ruby Penna and Dorothy Carlson. She is survived by one sister, Reta Switzer of Mankota; sisters-in-law: Phylis Robertson of Kincaid, Evelyn Robertson of Mankota, Phyllis Robertson of Mankota and Eva Ottley of Victoria, B.C. and special nephew, Ken Robertson as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Beth grew up in Mankota, Saskatchewan. She married Jim Ottley of Assiniboia and moved to Moose Jaw. Jim and Beth later moved to Regina and then to Edmonton where they lived until they returned to Moose Jaw in 1977. Beth worked for many years at T.E. Eatons Company, first in Moose Jaw and later in Regina and Edmonton. During the past number of years, Beth had resided at Pioneer Lodge, Moose Jaw. Beth was a member of Zion United Church and special thanks are extended to the ladies of Zion United Church for the many visits over the years. Beth was also a life member of the Rebecca’s Lodge of Moose Jaw. Funeral Services will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 3, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Interment will take place at Regina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zion United Church, 423 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 0W5 or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. William (Bill) Palmer
WILLIAM (BILL) LORNE PALMER of Moose Jaw, passed away in hospital on Thursday, July 26, 2001 at the age of 87 years. Bill was born in Craik, Saskatchewan on June 22, 1914. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers: Ray, Bruce and Jim and three sisters: Thelma, Lulu and Ruth. Bill will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of Jean of sixty years (July 1, 2001), son Gerald (Eileen) and their children: Dave, Barb and Lori and son Blair (Pam) and their children: Scott and Stefanie. Bill was in sales for most of his working life and touched many lives in his travels. At the time of his passing, he was an active 45 year member of the Associated Canadian Travelers Club of Moose Jaw. Bill also was a lifetime member of the Saskatchewan Lung Association and an active member of the Hillcrest Sports Centre until the age of 85 years. In his spare time, Bill loved to travel, garden and golf. Following cremation, a Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Monday, July 30, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, (July 29th, 7-9 p.m.) at the Funeral Home. Memorialization will take place privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Saskatchewan Lung Association, 1231-8th St. E., Saskatoon, Sask., S7H 0S5 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, P.O. WILLIAM (BILL) PETRUICK
MR. WILLIAM (BILL) PETRUICK of Moose Jaw, passed away in Moose Jaw on Thursday, September 6, 2001 at the age of 72 years. Born November 4, 1928 at Spring Valley, Saskatchewan, Bill farmed and ranched in the Spring Valley (Crystal Hill) district and was an avid golfer. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family. Predeceased by his parents, Lazar and Eleanora, brother, Donald, brother-in-law, Alvin Kinch and a nephew Dayle Matthews. Bill is survived by his three sisters: Jennie Kinch of Calgary, Alta., Mary (Elie) Donison of Moose Jaw, Sask., Joyce (Wesley) Banilevic of Moose Jaw, Sask. and nine nieces and nephews: Alvin (Lynne) Kinch of Red Deer, Alta, Sharon Matthews of Saskatoon, Sask., Darlene (Doug) Lockinger of Saskatoon, Sask., Beverly (Grant) Babich of Moose Jaw, Sask., Brenda (George) Reynoldson of White City, Sask., Brian (Cindy) Donison of Moose Jaw, Sask., Murray (Shi) Banilevic of Moose Jaw, Sask., Shelly (Tim) Marcyniuk of Craven, Sask., Kim Pinel of Prince Albert, Sask., nineteen great-nieces and nephews, one great-great-niece, and a great-great-nephew. In keeping with Bill’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation will take place and a private family graveside service will be held at Sunset Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Ina Grafton Gage Home, Extendicare and Providence Place for the fine service and care they provided to Bill for the last 2 ½ years. STANLEY FRYKLUND
Stanley Fryklund of Moose Jaw, passed away following a short illness on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at the age of 89 years. Stanley was born June 6, 1913 in Moose Jaw, the oldest of five children. He worked for the CPR for twenty years in the warehouse, then spent twenty-one years as a bus driver for the City of Moose Jaw. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Olga Fryklund; brothers and sisters: Frederick, Doris, Fern and Verna and his wife, Jean. He is survived by two sons: Keith and Ron of Moose Jaw and granddaughter Kristina Lynn. Funeral Services will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at 3:30 pm. Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Funeral Rites will be conducted by Dave Eamon. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening, 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
