ISAAC (ED) PRESLEY

ISAAC EDMOND (ED) PRESLEY of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Saturday, March 24th, 2001 at the age of 77 years. Ed was born in Spokane, Washington on August 22, 1923. He moved to the Mortlach area in 1928. His working years started with farming cattle and horses, later moving to Moose Jaw where he took up employment with Western Oil. Ed retired in 1986 from Clorox Canada as a Foreman. Predeceased by his father, Elmer Presley and daughter, Dianna. Ed is survived by his wife, Sophie, his mother, Luella, brothers, John (Betty) of B.C., Glen (Doreen) of Regina, son, Earl (Wendy) of Saskatoon, daughter, Marg of Calgary, step-son, Jerry (Glenna) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, step-daughter, Ethel (Bob) of Campbell River, B.C.; three Grandchildren: Don, Drew and Kristy, and four great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28th, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend Dr. Donald Laing will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, c/o Dorothy Quirk, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 1H3.

ROBERT FRASER

ROBERT STANLEY FRASER – age 68 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, formerly of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2001. Robert was born on the family farm in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan to Charles and Ellen (Humm) Fraser. Robert was the youngest of six children. He spent his life truck driving all across North America. He married Nora Jorgensen in 1963 and together they had two sons Danny and Terry. He resided at Extendicare in Moose Jaw until his passing. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Ellen Fraser, his sister, Margaret Baskins, his brothers: Arthur, Ken, Herb and Albert, and Nora Fraser and a son, Terry. He is survived by his son, Danny (Jessica and Rebecca) his daughter-in-law, Sandi (Tanner and Sydney), his sisters-in-law: Doris and Shirley and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Revered Ian Payne will officiate. A Graveside Interment Service will be held in Calgary at a later date.

WILLIAM (Bill) FOLGIZAN

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of WILLIAM STEVE (BILL) FOLGIZAN on Sunday, February 18th, 2001. Bill was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on May 3rd, 1932. Bill’s greatest passions were his family and his work. At his 65th birthday party, the joke was that he would never retire because he was having too much fun and where would he go between coffee breaks? His newly found passion was buying and selling cattle and trips to the ranch. Bill was very involved with his work and the insurance business for which he received numerous awards. He was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Katherine Folgizan, wife, Theresa, son, Gregory, brother-in-law, Walter Stadnyk and mother-in-law, Anne Michaels. Beloved husband of Anita, father of Teresa-Marie (Doug) Mintenko and their children, Derek, Jered and Carlie of Moose Jaw, Vincent (Ruth) Folgizan and their son, Aemil of Vancouver, Christopher (Lee Anne) Folgizan of Regina, Scott (Jana) Wilcox of Saskatoon and Glen Wilcox (Wendy Malanchen) of Edmonton. Bill is also survived by his sister, Francis Stadnyk of Carberry, Manitoba, parents-in-law, Aemil Michaels of Portage la Prairie and Marge King of Moose Jaw, Leo (Eva) King of Paddockwood, Sask., sisters-in-law, Alvera (Ray) Marsh of Saskatoon and Leona King of Moose Jaw as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his “family” at Folgizan Agencies. The Funeral Service will be held at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main Street North, Moose Jaw on Thursday, February 22nd, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Della Ferguson will officiate. Burial will follow at the Sunset Cemetery, Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Dad’s “Pet” Charity, The Moose Jaw Humane Society, 1755 Stadacona St. W., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 7K7

JEAN McCAW

MRS. JEAN McCAW of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2001. Jean was born in 1915 in Gray, Saskatchewan and grew up in various communities across Saskatchewan. She married Arthur Moerike in 1928 where they lived and worked in the Truax/Dummer area, later moving to Moose Jaw. Jean was then remarried twice: to Stanley King and later to Dr. Charles McCaw. Jean enjoyed curling, traveling, was an excellent sewer and loved cooking for family gatherings. In her later years, the optical business was the focus of her life and her grandchildren were the love of her life. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Estella Bedford; husbands, Arthur Moerike, Stanley King and Dr. Charles McCaw, daughter, Delores Biden, sister, Thelma Day, brother-in-law, Aubrey Majarison. Jean is survived by sons, Donald (Carol) Moerike, Bryan (Lynne) Moerike, her sister Lois Majarison, stepchildren, Gordon McCaw, Judy McCaw, Don McCaw and Doug McCaw, extended brothers and sisters: Lawrence (Alice) Bedford, Victor (Colleen) Bedford, Eldon (Shirley) Bedford, Jerry Bedford, Delores (Pete) Drescher, Elaine (Fred) Jadischke and Yvonne (Alex) Fauth as well as eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society, 223 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 0E1 or to a charity of one’s choice. In living memory of Jean, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home

WILLIAM KENNETH HAMILTON

Mr. William Kenneth Hamilton passed away suddenly at home in Eyebrow on Friday, February 16, 2001 at the age of 85 years. Ken was born October 29, 1915 to Robert and Minnie Hamilton at Chaplin, Sask. He grew up on the family farm at Uren. It was there that he met Ethel Nelson who came to work at Bowden’s General Store. They were married on November 5, 1935. Ken was a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather (“papa”). He farmed for many years before moving to Moose Jaw in 1955, becoming a car salesman and sales manager for Elliot Motors and Western Dodge until retiring. Ken is predeceased by his loving wife, Ethel in 1996; his parents; brother, Bob; sister, Violet Donnelly; father and mother-in-law, Mannie and Lydia Nelson; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; and a special nephew, Lloyd Nelson. Ken leaves to mourn his passing, son Earl and special friends Shirley and Robbie; daughter, Ferne (Mel) Bradford; six grandchildren: Denise (Lonnie) Smith; Kelvin (Lori) Bradford; Lynne (Jim) Kozma; Adele (Jerry) Kulyk; Ken (Deanna) Hamilton; Maria (Herb) Vanderzwaag; and sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Lorne) Lindquist; brother-in-law, Rolland Donnelly; sister-in-law, Vivian Vanloosen; many nieces and nephews; special paper girl, Danielle Andres; and many friends. Funeral Services will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at 1:30 pm. Merlin Affleck and Lloyd Kneesch will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation Monday evening 8 – 9 pm at the Funeral Home. Memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, would be appreciated

CHESTER PRIOR

With deep sadness, the family of Chester Prior announce his passing on Saturday, February 10th, 2001. Dad was born on May 4th, 1917 at Riverhurst, Saskatchewan. He spent his 83 years living and working in Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by a brother, Happy Springett in 1993 and a sister, Toody Beattie in 1981. Chester is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie and two sons, Bob and his wife, Pat of Edson, Alberta and grandson, Jeff and his wife, Crystal and great-granddaughter, Jennifer – all of Hinton, Alberta, granddaughter, Michelle of Edmonton, and Brian and his wife, Bev, - Moose Jaw, granddaughters, Deanna (Mike) McCubbing of Moose Jaw and Crystal (Jeremy) of Regina and grandson, Ryan of Calgary, Alberta, one brother, Dick (Marg) Springett of Moose Jaw, three sisters, Hazel (Doug) Walker of Woodburn, Oregon, Pearl (Merv) Barr of Courtenay, B.C. and Kay Parker of Moose Jaw and sister-in-law, Margaret Springett of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 14th, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend Betty Bradley will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church, 809-10th Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 4K6 or to the Shriners Children Fund, c/o Wa Wa Temple, 2065 Hamilton St. , Regina, Sask., S4P 2E1.
