RAYMOND JOSEPH (JOE) MINER, husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, March 30th, 2001 at his home in Riverhurst at the age of 77 years. Joe was born October 12th, 1923 in Riverhurst and was raised by his grandparents Joseph and Mary Langer. He farmed in the Riverhurst district until his retirement when he moved to town. He married Hazel Swan October 14th, 1947 and the couple raised a family of six children. He was predeceased by his parents Reuben and Bertha Miner, his grandparents Joseph and Mary Langer and his sister Mary Denton. Joe is survived by his wife Hazel; his four sons, two daughters and their families: Raymond (Sharon) and their children Heather (Chris) Cwynar, Jared (Jolene) and Jaymie; Glen; Devone (Donna) and their children Ryan (Trisha) and Tanya (Avan Erickson); Veloy Emerson and her children Deidre and Scott; Randy (Celine); and Jill (Dave) Cressy and their children Brittney, Satara and Jake; one brother William Clayton Miner of California. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 4th, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Central Butte. Reverend Father Steve Ripplinger will preside. Interment will be made at the Riverhurst Cemetery. Joe will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many for his love of nature and baseball and for his outgoing personality. Charitable donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Central Butte Regency Manor, Box 430, Central Butte, Sask., S0H 0T0. RAYMOND F. JOHNSON of Moose Jaw, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, April 29, 2002 at the age of 62 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Wendy; sons: Carl and Mark, daughter, Debbie (Charles) and grandchildren, and one brother, Larry. Funeral Services will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E. on Monday, May 6, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor John McCubbing will officiate. Flowers gratefully declined. ANNETTE BOUCHER
It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of ANNETTE ROSANNE BOUCHER. Annette passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. She was born November 6, 1915 in Montreal, Quebec and married Gerry Boucher July 29, 1949. Annette had a grocery store in Montreal from 1950 to 1967. She came west in 1967 and worked at Joyners for ten years. Annette was a caregiver. When her mother came west in 1967 to live with Annette and Gerry, she cared for her until her passing in 1968. She was predeceased by her father in 1948. Annette leaves to mourn her husband of 51 years, Gerry, one half sister, Blanche Rivet of Montreal, one sister-in-law, Carmelle Roberge of Montreal and many cousins. The Funeral Services will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Saturday, March 3, 2001 at 3:30 p.m. Stephanie Molloy will officiate. A Prayer Service will be held at the Chapel Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Cremation will follow and private memorialization will be held at the Prairie Memorial Columbarium at a later date. MURIEL GRASDAL
MURIEL CATHLEEN GRASDAL passed away peacefully at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, Sask. on Sunday, April 28, 2002. Born in St. John, New Brunswick March 29, 1923, Muriel moved to Moose Jaw in 1948 and then married Conrad in 1951 where they resided on a farm north of Parkbeg. Due to a stroke in 1997, Muriel had since resided at Providence Place. Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband, Conrad John Grasdal, parents, Thomas James McCarthy and Bertha Ann (Kennedy) McCarthy, sister, Francis Rossiter and a brother, John McCarthy. She will forever be loved and missed by her children: Terry (Joan) of Moose Jaw, Doug (Shelly) of Lethbridge, Allan (IsMary) of Calgary, Shirley (Darrel Kinneberg) of Elk Point, Alta.; Helen (Wayne Kozakewich) of Calgary, Paul (Barb Newsham) of Parkbeg and Ken of Regina; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by seven sisters: Margaret Martin, Rita Short, Helen Macdonald, Connie (Ray) Grasdal, Catherine Cole, Joan Anderson, Christine Lavallie and one brother, Ronald McCarthy. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Memorialization will take place at a later time. April 11, 1919 – March 30, 2001
Victoria Mary Morgan passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2001 at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her husband, Arthur John Morgan, her parents, George and Anna Zazulak and her brothers: Steve and Nick. Victoria will be sadly missed by her children: Marilyn (Charlie) McNutt of Grande Cache, Alberta, Terry Morgan of Moose Jaw, her only and very special grandson, Michael Uhrich of Regina, her sister, Mary Hunter of Winnipeg, Manitoba as well as numerous nieces and nephews and sisters and brothers-in-law. Special gratitude to the nurses and caregivers at Pioneer’s Lodge for the love and care they gave to Mom during her short stay. Honoring Mom’s wishes, she will be cremated and a Graveside Service will take place at Rosedale Cemetery on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Della Ferguson will officiate. RAYMOND JONES
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of RAYMOND JONES, beloved husband of Maxine, on Monday, December 2, 2002. Surviving Ray are his wife of fifty-five years, Maxine, son, Rod (Joanne), daughter, Linda (George Miller) and three special granddaughters: Carla and Kristine Jones and Katherine Miller. Also surviving are his brother, Ron (Mona), sister, Ina Herrem; sisters-in-law, Elsie Jones, Simone Jones and Hazel Mohr as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother and father, Elizabeth and David; brothers: Art, Fred (Edna), Ken, and sister, Irene (Doug) Henderson. Ray was born in Moose Jaw on October 23, 1923 and attended Empire and Technical High Schools. He joined the Canadian Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945. Upon his return, Ray was employed with Richardson and Dracup, Husky Oil until their closing and with Public Works Canada until his retirement in 1987. Ray was a member of St. Michael’s and All Angels Church and was a Legion member for forty-six years. Ray was an avid ball player, playing 3rd base for the Purity 99 Baseball team and also 3rd base for the Classic and Arcade Softball teams. Following cremation, A Celebration of Ray’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend Betty Bradley will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted at the chapel by Roscoe Steele, Moose Jaw Branch #59. Memorialization will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be forwarded to St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, 303 Coteau St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 5C8.
