MARGARET MUHLE (nee Boyle) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at the age of 77 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernhardt (Bun), her parents Annie and Frank Boyle and brother Wray Boyle. Margaret is survived by her children Barbara (Donald) Martin, Meagan Grand, Frank (Cheryl), Teri, Cameron, Cody Muhle, Marlene (Mike), Annie and Amanda Bartel and sister-in-law, Mary Muhle. Margaret met Bun in Moose Jaw and later were married, settling on the family farm in the Crane Valley area. They enjoyed family life to the fullest. Mom and Dad moved to Moose Jaw in 1985. Margaret was active in bowling, quilting and many other activities at the Timothy Eaton Centre. She loved gardening and the outdoors. She also enjoyed the many friends she met and talked with on bus rides and had coffee with. She had many memorable days with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorials for the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 4P2 would be gratefully accepted. In living memory of Margaret, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley Parkland by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
Allen (Al) George Munshaw
On Friday, July 20, 2001, Allen (Al) George Munshaw passed away peacefully in the Union Hospital with family at his side at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by his parents William and Clarice and his brother Gordon. We will remember: Phyllis, his loving wife and partner of 53 years; son Ken (Maureen) and granddaughter Laurie; son Ron (Betty) and grandchildren Debra, Angela (Jim) and Ryan and great-grandson Preston; and special niece Wendy Paterson and her family Danny and Stacey of Victoria, B.C. Al served during World War II overseas and on his return worked at various farming and warehousing jobs. In 1983 he retired as foreman at Soo Security Motorways. After his retirement, Al and Phyllis enjoyed several trips to California to visit family and relax. Al was an avid bowler, loved attending Warrior hockey games and watching the Blue Jays. Grandpa cherished his time with his family and friends and looked forward to their “dropping by” and perhaps staying for a game of cards. He always had words of wisdom and advice for each of us.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening (July 23rd), 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. EDGAR ROSE
On Tuesday, January 1, 2002, EDGAR REGINALD ROSE, late of Swift Current, and formerly of Pennant, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years with his family at his side at the home of his daughter, Beverley, in Moose Jaw. Edgar is survived by Grace, his loving wife of 58 years; son Duane (Margaret) of Zehner, SK., daughter Beverley Katchmer (Tony) of Moose Jaw, and son Don of Mayne Island, BC; grandchildren RaeAnne (Kurt Friesen), Derek Birch, Jennifer, Allyson and Kathryn Rose of Vancouver, KariLynn Erickson (Trent), Brian Birch of Calgary, great-granddaughter Jessica Friesen of Vancouver, and daughter-in-law Linda Rose of Vancouver, brother George of Swift Current, sisters Dorothy Russell (Ray) of Ladysmith, and Gladys Evans (Bernard) of Calgary, brothers-in-law Erhart Nagel (Lola) of Moose Jaw, Jim Wallace (Eleanor) of Kelowna, Edwin Wallace (Caroll), Earl Wallace (Thelma) of Pennant and sister-in-law Jessie Hansen (Ken) of Kelowna, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant granddaughter Andrea Birch, his parents Herbert and Lucy Rose, sisters, Florence and Hilda and sister-in-law Ena Rose. Edgar was born on April 22, 1924 southwest of Success, on the SW quarter of 22-17-16W3 and grew up on the Rose farm north of Pennant. He attended Grampian School and in 1943 he joined the Army and served with the Lake Superior Regiment and was always proud of his war effort in Europe, including his service medals and Royal Canadian Legion Life Membership. After the war he worked at Croteau’s Store in Pennant until 1972 when he became Pennant’s Postmaster. He also farmed the home quarter with his brother George and tended his gardens both on the farm and in Pennant. Over the years he was involved in many community projects and activities including the skating and curling rinks, 4H, Pennant Cemetery, and the Pennant Branches of Mount Herman Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. He also served as the community Fire Chief for twenty years. In his retirement years he enjoyed his grandchildren, family and friends. His last Christmas was special as all his family came to visit with him in Moose Jaw. A Memorial Service will be conducted by Reverend John Barker on Saturday, January 12, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Church in Swift Current. Gifts in Edgar’s memory will be gratefully received by Moose Jaw Thunder Creek Palliative Home Care c/o co-ordinator, Dorothy Quirk, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 1H3 or to the charity of your choice. HAZEL ANDERSON
Another gentle heart stopped beating on Friday, November 1, 2002. It is with great sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Hazel May Anderson of Moose Jaw, Sask. at the age of 83 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Richard (Dick) Anderson; parents, Grace and Fred Jones; daughters, Shirley and Louise; brother, Howard Jones; and sister, Dorothy Lomas. Hazel will be sadly missed by her daughter, Janet Anderson; son, Don (Noreen); grandchildren: James (Tamara), Robert, Tricia, and Michael Anderson of Moose Jaw; sister, Irene Carmichael of London, Ont.; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hamilton and Dorothy Dow; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A Service of Remembrance for Hazel will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday, November 4, 2002 at 1:30 pm. Linda Owens will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery at a later time. Memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, S6H 4P2, or the Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw, S6H 7K7, would be appreciated. ANDREW METZGER
ANDREW (ANDY) E. METZGER, age 66 years, passed away suddenly in Moose Jaw on Tuesday, May 7, 2002. Andy was born and raised in the Spring Valley district. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew Metzger, brother, Rudy Metzger, and brother-in-law, Jim Brown. Andy is survived by his mother, Eda Metzger of Moose Jaw, sisters: Freda Brown of Regina, Eva (Wilfred) Montgomery of Vernon, B.C.; his five children: Paula (Rick) Fisher of Moose Jaw, Brad (Kim) Metzger of Victoria, B.C., Marlene (Mike) Gregus of Taber, Alberta, Kathy (Dan) Brailean of Texas, Chris (Blair) Payne of Port Alberni, B.C., twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and two very special friends, his horse, Star and dog, Tiny. Following cremation, A Memorial Service will take place at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate. Memorialization will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. JULIA CLARKE
JULIA CLARKE (nee St. Vrain), passed away peacefully on July 17, 2002, at the age of 97 years. Julia was predeceased by her husband Frederick, parents, Paul and Eliza St. Vrain, daughter, Winnie; sisters: Pauline and Ruth and her brother, Roy St. Vrain. She is survived by two sons: Roy (Audrey) and Stuart (Pauline); nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Julia was a long time resident of the Mossbank District and a member of the Mossbank 50+ Club. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 1:30 at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend Bryson Randall will officiate. Donations may be made to the Assiniboia Anglican Church or to the Mossbank 50+ Club.
