ELAINE P. MORGAN (nee: Westlake) of Moose Jaw, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2002. Born May 18, 1924 in Tugaske, Saskatchewan, Elaine came to Moose Jaw in 1927. She married Lloyd Morgan in August of 1946. She worked at Moose Jaw Printing for several years. Elaine enjoyed shopping, reading, T.V. and knitting many beautiful sweaters and baby outfits but especially looked forward to the Christmas season and her village houses. Elaine always looked forward to coffee with her “coffee gang”, three days a week. She was very strong willed which helped greatly during her long battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents, Bob and Pearl Westlake and her brother, Mitchell. Elaine is survived by her two daughters, Susan Morgan (Dale Manko) and her children, James and Dawn; Michelle (Gerald Dessert) and their children: Delisca, Tristin, Saralea and Braeden. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in the W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Pastor Dave Moore will officiate. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials for the Canadian Cancer Society, 223 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 0E1 would be appreciated. In living memory of Elaine, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
ROSE NELSON
Mrs. Rose Marie Nelson (Popowich), age 84, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2002, with her family by her side. She was born on a farm near Melville, Sask. September 30, 1918. Rose is predeceased by her husband, Daniel Nelson; her parents, John and Ann Popowich; and all her brother and sisters. She is survived by her son, Dennis; daughter, Barb (Dan) Belisle – all of Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Jeff Nelson, Jodine Johnstone, Lisa Loeppky, Brock Nelson, and Bronson Belisle; great-grandsons: Quinlan Gusnowsky and Seth Loeppky; as well as several nieces and nephews. A time of fellowship for friends and family will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca Street East, on Wednesday December 4, 2002 at 1:00 pm. Della Ferguson will facilitate. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 223 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 0E1, the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, S6H 4P2, or the charity of choice, would be appreciated. PAULINE EBERLE
PAULINE EBERLE of Providence Place and formerly of St. Peter’s Colony at Kronau, Saskatchewan, passed away June 4, 2002 at the age of 87 years. Born September 20, 1914 in Lajord, Saskatchewan, Pauline has been in the care of The Sisters of Providence for over 50 years, initially at St. Anthony’s Home and later at Providence Place on its opening. Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Annamaria; brothers: Christopher, Johann, Adam, Nicodemus, Robert, Peter, Joseph and Frank; sisters: Agnes, Genofivia and Eleanor; sisters-in-law: Helen, Pauline and Margaret. She is survived by sisters-in-law: Regarda Eberle and Margaret Eberle as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Following cremation, A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel of Providence Place, 100 Second Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw on Monday, June 10, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. Deacon Bob Williston will be the facilitator. Memorialization will take place at the family plot, St. Peter’s Cemetery at Kronau, Sask. at a later date. Memorials for Providence Place Foundation would be gratefully accepted. CLYDE HART
CLYDE HART passed away peacefully at Pioneer Lodge on Wednesday, July 11, 2001surrounded by his family and friends from the Lodge where he has been a resident for the past five years. Clyde was born on February 14, 1906 at Brinsmade, North Dakota. He came to the Brownlee District when he was six weeks old with his parents Elias and Cora Hart and four year old twin brothers. He married Maybel Peterson from Eyebrow on September 12, 1927 and they farmed and lived at the original homestead until he moved to Brownlee in 1955, retiring to Moose Jaw in 1962. Clyde was predeceased by his parents; three brothers: Carl, Everett and Estel, sister, Rosa, a son, Lyle in 1981, his wife of 56 years, Maybel in 1983, grandson, Danny Lowe in 1991, daughter, Evelyn in 1992 and a daughter-in-law, Patsy in 1993. Clyde is ever loved and sadly missed by two sons: Howard of Moose Jaw and Ray (Doreen) of Victoria, B.C.; three daughters: Muriel (Pat) Ryan of Calgary, Alberta, Doreen (Paul) Doyle of Regina, Deanna (Larry) Rode of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta; Twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Pastor John N. Duerksen will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening (July 16th, 8-9p.m. ) at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saskatchewan Lung Association, 1231-8th St. E., Saskatoon, Sk., S7H 0S5 or to Pioneer Lodge, 1000 Albert St. , Moose Jaw, Sk., S6H 2Y2. RONALD McKENZIE
Mr. Ronald McKenzie of Moose Jaw, passed away quietly at his home on Saturday May 18, 2002 at the age of 77 years. Ron was born in 1925 at the family homestead near Aneroid, Sask. He worked and married his wife of 48 years in the town of Imperial. They moved their family to Moose Jaw in 1966 where Ron worked for Trimac and then for Redi-Mix as a mechanic and shop foreman. Ron was predeceased by his wife Rena (Clarkson); father, John; mother, Maggie; step-mother, Annie; and sister, Jessie. He is survived by his five children; Melvin, Heather, Bonnie, Sharon (Todd) Marshall; and Ronalea; grandchildren: Daniel (Lindsey) Lewis; Jacqueline ( Chad ) Paton; Brian Lewis; Brandi and Stephanie Marshall; great-grandson: Logan Lewis; brothers: Jim, Rod, Bill, and Norman; sisters: Mary and Margaret; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friends, Harvey and Cathy Smith. Following Cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday, May, 22, 2002 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Memorialization will take place at the Aneroid Cemetery at a later date. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 223 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 0E1, would be appreciated. EDWARD GLASS
MR. EDWARD GLASS, age 82 years, of Chaplin, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at the Central Butte Union Hospital. Born in the Bluet district, Edward received his education at Knowlside School. He worked for various farms and at jobs before beginning to farm full time in 1943. Predeceased by his parents, a sister Martha and three brothers, William, Fred and John. Edward is survived by his wife, Freda of 59 years, children: Carol (Doug) Torrie of Chaplin, son, Gordon (Judy) of Watson, Sk., Cindy of Chaplin, Bonnie (Keith) Hampton of Central Butte and Donald (Angie) of Moose Jaw, one brother, Emil (Helen) of Chaplin, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, January 11, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chaplin Community Complex. Reverend Helen Reid will officiate. Interment will take place at the Sunset Cemetery in Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chaplin School Playground Fund.
