DOROTHY KEMP

Mrs. Dorothy Kemp (nee Cooper), age 86, of Moose Jaw, passed away on Saturday May 30, 2009 with her family by her side. Dorothy was born in the Keeler district. She married Lawrence Kemp in 1947 and they farmed and raised their family in Keeler. They later retired to Moose Jaw. Dorothy was active in many community groups including the UCW, and the “Grandmothers Club”. She enjoyed playing ball, square dancing, and in later years, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by son, Dr. Ray Kemp (Georgia), and daughters Janet Kawa and Joyce Kemp; five grandchildren, Steven and Cameron (Tobi) Kemp, Andrea (Rob) Lamont, Erin (Tyler) Delwisch, and Graeme Kawa; five great-grandchildren, Derek, Kennedy and Carson Delwisch, Carter and Blake Lamont; sister Betty Murray, twin brother Donald and brother Bud (Frances); numerous nieces and nephews; and will be especially missed by her puppy Daisy. She is predeceased by her loving husband Lawrence in 1988; sister Peggy (Neil) Forsyth, and brothers Clarence, Sidney (Dorothy), Roy, and George (Gren). The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday June 3, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Reverend David Moore will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Dorothy, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ALLAN SELMER NESVOLD

Allan Selmer Nesvold of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on October 21, 2010 at the Grasslands Nursing home in Rockglen, SK. Allan was born in Verwood, SK on March 7, 1934. He grew up on the family farm near Crane Valley where he and his wife Kathleen raised their three children, and continued farming until retiring in Moose Jaw, SK in 1996. He is predeceased by the love of his life Kathleen in 2009; his parents Mabel and Sven; brothers, Melvin and Sidney; sisters, Bernice and Belvera. Allan is survived by his children, Elaine (Ron), Terry (Rose), Gwen (Lenny), nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren (soon to be thirteen); one sister Ella; and many more loving family members and great friends. Allan was known for his thoughtful and generous gifts that he insisted on bringing home for everyone, socializing at auction or garage sales, baking his homemade fudge, and his unique appetite for wagon wheels, cookies and wieners mixed together. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw at 1:30 pm, with Todd Moroz of Wood Mountain officiating. Burial will take place at Wenaus Cemetery, near Ormiston, SK. Donations can be made to the Diabetes Association, 917 Albert St. , Regina, SK, S4R 2P or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. , Moose Jaw, Sk, S6H 2M2. In living memory of Allan, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ANN NIESMAN

Mrs. Ann Niesman, age 89, passed away at Pioneer Lodge on January 6, 2010. Ann is predeceased by her mother Mary Schoffer (Gross) and father George Schoffer; husband Art; brothers Chris, Carl, George, John, and Louie; sisters Lorraine Barnwell, Katy Duzan, and Mary Westgard. She is survived by her daughter, Clarice (Ron) Palsich - Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Darren (Cathy) Pecusik - Moose Jaw, Neoma Pecusik - Moose Jaw, Laura Palsich - Regina, Micheal Palsich - Esquimalt, BC, Kevin Palsich - St. Walburg, SK, and Judy Palsich - Calgary; great-grandchildren Kayla Pecusik - Vancouver, Dustin Pecusik - Moose Jaw, and Devin Walters - Regina. At Ann's request, there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery . Many thanks to the staff of Pioneer Lodge for the excellent care they gave Ann. In living memory of Ann, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JOSEPH TRESS

Joseph Tress of Moose Jaw, passed away October 5, 2003 at the age of 91 years. Joseph was born on October 27, 1911 and was raised in the Bayard district. In 1941 he married Anne and they have resided here since. Joseph worked at the Co-op Creamery until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Anne; son, John; daughter, Josephine; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters. Joseph is predeceased by a daughter, Carol. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of Our Lady, Wednesday October 8, 2003 at 11:00 am. Father Gerry Bauche and Stephanie Molloy officiating. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. An Evening Prayer Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday, October 7, at 7:30 pm. In living memory of Joseph, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ADA HARTELL

Ada Hartell passed away May 4, 2009 at her home in the Central Butte Regency Manor. Ada was born on December 8, 1913 to John and Agnes Bender of Avonmore, Ontario. She was the fourth child of a family of six. Ada was predeceased by her parents, infant son Donald, brother Roy (Laura), sisters May (Floyd) Fisher, Evelyn (James) Tinkess, niece Gail Eamer, husband Orlen in 2004; and sister and brother-in-law Jean (John) Baber of Kelowna BC. She is survived by her brother Jay (Gladys) Bender, sister Ina MacElheran of Avonmore, ON, niece Lois (Eric) McCartney of Cornwall, ON, and nephew Ronnie; special cousin George (Deanne) Hartell and their family Ryan (Ricki) and Lucas, Colton, Braeden and Cordell; Orlen’s nieces Deborah Baber (Glenn Harrison), Gail Gorbich of Kelowna, BC., and extended family and friends. Ada received her education in Avonmore, Ontario. For a number of years she worked in the Howard Smith Paper Mill in Cornwall. She later took up Hairdressing. Ada was a Member of the Anglican Church and sang in their choir, and was a member of the Women’s Institute in Avonmore. In 1957 she met Orlen Hartell of Tugaske and they were married in July 12, 1958 in Avonmore at the St. Marks Anglican Church. Ada and her sweetheart Orlen moved to Tugaske where she helped with the farming and was an active member of the Rebecca Lodge, UCW, the Birthday Club, the Coffee Break Gals and the Do Drop In (Senior’s Centre). She was also a Member of the Tugaske United Church. Ada and Orlen retired from farming in 1992. After leaving Tugaske they moved into the low rentals in Central Butte, later moving to Ina Grafton Gage Home in Moose Jaw. After Orlen’s passing, Ada remained at Ina Grafton until returning to Central Butte and taking up residence at the Regency Manor. The family wishes to thank the staff of Ina Grafton Gage Home, and the Regency Manor for the exceptional care she received while residing there. The Funeral Service will be held at the Tugaske Community Hall on Friday May 8th, 2009 at 4:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Tugaske Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Tugaske United Church Operating Fund, Box 94, Tugaske, SK S0H 4B0. In living memory of Ada, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

LORETTE KNIGHTS

Lorette Bertha Knights (nee Bessette), passed away on January 30, 2011. Lorette was 87 years old, born March 17, 1923 at Coderre, Saskatchewan. She moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where she met Robert (Bob) Knights. They were married in Moose Jaw on October 8, 1943. They lived in Moose Jaw, raising five children. Lorette is predeceased by her husband, Robert, who passed away in 1991. She leaves to mourn her passing, her family including: Doug (Barb) Knights, Marcel (Donna) Knights, Cecelia (Frank) Kirkpatrick, Arthur (Della) Knights, Ida (Ken) Chamberlain; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The Funeral will take place at Church of Our Lady on Saturday February 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery. Father Carlos Jimenez will officiate. Mom always had a very deep compassion for animals, for those wishing please send memorials to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, 1755 Stadacona St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 7K7. In living memory of Lorette, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ADAM CASARIN

Adam Casarin of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2010, surrounded by his family, at the age of 83 years. Adam was born in Trebaselghe, Sant-Ambrogio, Padova, Italy on October 18, 1926. He came to Canada in 1959. He worked for many years in construction for M&M Construction. He loved passing his time working with his hands, whether it was gardening, wine making, or doing little repair projects around the house. Family was very important to him and he will be sadly missed. Adam is survived by his two sisters in Italy, Onorina, and Clemenza; sister-in-law, Loretta - Moose Jaw; nephew Luigi (Carol)- Brooks, AB, niece Lucia - Moose Jaw; brother-in-law Giovanni Paiaro, nephews Lou (Donna) Paiaro, and Gianni (Kim) Paiaro and their families - all of Okotoks AB; and numerous other relatives in Italy. Adam was predeceased by his parents Luigi and Adele; his two sisters Teresina and Bruna, and his brother Giuseppe. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 10a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 - 3rd Avenue N.W., Moose Jaw. Reverend Father Neil Osiowy will preside. A Prayer Service will be held Monday evening at 7p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be directed to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3. In living memory of Adam, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
