GORDON BADGER

MR. GORDON BADGER of Providence Place, Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Nettie by his side on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Born August 29, 1915 on a farm North of Central Butte, he was the eldest child of the Badger family. He attended Littleville country school near Central Butte until grade ten when he went to work with threshing crews. Farming became Gordon’s full time occupation in 1939. Gordon married Nettie on November 21, 1950 in Moose Jaw and the couple kept busy with farming. The couple retired from farming in 1966 and moved to Moose Jaw where he became employed with Ramsay and Berg Construction. Gordon and Nettie enjoyed traveling including to destinations as the East Coast, Las Vegas, Anaheim and other areas throughout the United States . On May 27, 1995 Gordon moved to Providence Place where he resided until his passing. In keeping with Gordon’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation will take place with memorialization in the Central Butte Cemetery at a later time. In living memory of Gordon, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

LOUISE HAGAN

Louise Hagan passed away February 11, 2010 at the age of 99. She was born December 1, 1910 at Darmody, SK. She is predeceased by her first husband Jim Thomson, and her second husband Bert in 2002 (married in 1954), daughter Lillian Honeysett, and son Kenneth Thomson. Louise was one of 14 children born to Josephine and Olaf Bruvold. She is survived by brother Sam and sister Annie; daughters, Winnie (Jack) Markewich of Moose Jaw, and Evelyn (Ted) Cartlidge of Nelson, BC; sisters-in-law Anna Bruvold and Stella Bruvold; brothers-in-law Rueben Hagan, Sly Hagan, and Joe Hagan; very special cousins Karlene, Hugh, and Mickie Hagan; twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and also many nieces and nephews all over the country. Louise loved to dance even when she was in her 90's. She danced at Evelyn's and Ted's 50th anniversary. She treasured her children and was always proud to show off a new grand baby. Louise was an avid bowler, well into her 80’s and won many trophies up until Bert passed away. When Louise was young she was told by her Dad that she was the best hired man he ever had. She made the best bread and loved to pick berries, doing so until she no longer could. She was always one for a good story or joke. Louise will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Louise, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

VIOLA HOYES

Viola Isabel (Connelly) Hoyes was born at Chamberlain, SK on July 10, 1913 and attended Clarendon School. She was predeceased by her mother Helen September 9, 1949 and her father William Connelly April 10, 1967, a sister Stella in 1915, and stepmother Lurane September 7, 1966. Viola spent her earlier years in the Chamberlain and Tuxford areas, coming to Moose Jaw in January 1944 and was employed at the Harwood Hotel and Turner & Ellis Hardware Co. Ltd. from November 29, 1945 until January 10, 1953. She married James Hoyes, formerly of Eyebrow, SK, in 1952, who predeceased her January 6, 1972. Viola was employed at the Canadian Bible Society Store as a part time sales clerk from April 1973 until December 1979. She was a Red Cross Volunteer at the Blood Donor Clinics, and visited shut-ins at Pioneer’s Lodge and was a Hospice Volunteer. She was a member of Mizpah Chapter #1 O.E.S., the Federal Superannuates Association and Friends of the Library. She enjoyed gardening, reading, letter writing, making scrapbooks, and collecting recipes. Viola is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday February 4, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Pastor Ashley Taylor will officiate, assisted by Mr. Dale Harris. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends Sunday evening 7 – 9 pm at the Funeral Home. Viola was an adherent of Sunningdale Community Church. Contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. In living memory of Viola, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

BRADLEY ZIMMERMAN

It is with deep regret we announce that BRADLEY ZIMMERMAN, affectionately known as‘Junior', passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 26, 2003. Bradley was born December 17, 1982 in Moose Jaw, receiving his education at Palliser Heights School and Peacock Collegiate. Bradley was blessed with an extraordinary gift in music. He played several instruments and touched the lives of many with not only his music, but his genuine love for life. Predeceased by his grandfather, Jack Zimmerman, Bradley is survived by his parents, Dennis and Sheryl, and his brother, Jay; grandparents, Helen and Ray Ambler, and Mina Zimmerman, special friend, Lorianne New and his “special pal” – his dog, Kacia, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. A Service to Remember the Life of Bradley Zimmerman will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 3:00 pm at the Alliance Church, corner of 9th Ave. N.W. & Thatcher Dr., Moose Jaw. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials in Bradley’s memory may be made to the Saskatchewan Lung Association (Asthma Research), 1231 – 8th St. E., Saskatoon, Sask., S7H 0S5 would be gratefully appreciated. In living memory of Bradley, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ANNIE BAHR

Annie O. Bahr, of Moose Jaw passed away on Monday April 27, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Annie was born in the Broadview district on March 15, 1919. Predeceased by her parents Olie and Mary Rygh; first husband Burnt Halverson and second husband Frank Bahr; three sons, Herbert, Clifford and Ron; an infant daughter; five sisters and one brother, Annie is survived by her son, Gerry Halverson – Eyebrow; two sisters Joyce Lund, and Alice Grummet; one brother John (Margaret); and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Service of Remembrance will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday April 30, 2009 at 7:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Cremation will take place, with memorialization at Percival, SK at a later date. In living memory of Annie, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JIM "JIMMY 50" McKILLOP

Hueson James (Jim) “Jimmy 50” McKillop of Moose Jaw, passed away suddenly on January 22, 2003. Jim was born April 17, 1949. He leaves to mourn his wife, Twyla Gebauer of Moose Jaw; three sons: Robert McKillop and family of France; Joe McKillop and family of Surrey, B.C.; and Jody Braun of Moose Jaw; his father and step-mother, A.P. (Carol) McKillop and sister, Marilyn (Birdie) all of Surrey, B.C.; his grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The main thing that Jim did was worry about his 50 truck. He was a fun-loving person, but at times hard to get along with. He also worried about the children getting their schooling and always wanted them to succeed in life. Jim enjoyed watching army movies, models, crafts, and playing cards. A Service of Remembrance will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday, January 27, 2003 at 7:00 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. In living memory of Jim, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

THELMA STAPLES
Margaret Thelma Staples, age 82 years of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully at Providence Place on Saturday, January 11, 2003 . Thelma was born on April 29, 1920 in Moose Jaw . She attended King George Elementary School and worked at Joyner’s Department Store as a saleslady. Thelma was a woman of quiet character who had much insight into the actions of others and was not afraid to voice her opinion. She was kind in nature and complementary to those she felt needed her supportive words. She loved her family very much and her family loved her. Thelma also loved music and was an accomplished pianist in her younger years. She is predeceased by her father, Frank Joyner in 1983; her mother, Lillian ( McLean ) in 1980; and her husband, Robert Staples in 1996. She leaves to mourn one son, David Staples of Moose Jaw; two granddaughters: Jaclyn (Carol) Dupuis of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Shannon Staples of Stettler, AB.; one brother, Walter (Kathy) Joyner of Cochrane, AB.; and one sister, Patricia (Barry) Stevens of Moose Jaw. A special thank you to the caring staff of Ina Grafton Gage Home and Providence Place . A Service of Remembrance will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday, January 17, 2003 at 1:30 pm . Reverend Ian Payne will officiate. Memorialization will follow at Rosedale Cemetery . Memorials to Ina Grafton Gage Home, 200 Iroquois Street East, S6H 4T3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Thelma, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
