Mrs. Edith Palmer
December 14, 1906 - February 19, 2008

On February 19, 2008, Edith passed away peacefully at the age of 101 years. To all who knew her, Grandma was a spunky lady with a positive outlook on life. She lived on her own until two months prior to her passing. Ede was born in Cumberland, MD, USA to Richard and Emma Wilkins. The family immigrated to Rabbit Lake, SK in 1911. In 1933 Ede married Raymond Page. They farmed in the Mullingar district until moving to the village in 1943. They welcomed their first daughter Joanne in 1937 and their second daughter Arlene in 1945. Sadly, in 1946 Raymond passed away. Ede raised her daughters by herself until 1951 when she married Ernest Schneider. Ede was very pleased to welcome Ernie’s son Roger as her own. For 29 years, Ede and Ernie lived in the Rabbit Lake area. After Ernie’s passing in 1980, Ede moved to Prince Albert where she could be closer to her daughters and their families. Edith married Albert Palmer in 1989. Edith is survived by her daughters Joanne Bassingthwaite, Arlene (Bill) Wyant; her son Roger (Betty) Schneider; her sister-in-law Phylis Wilkins; her 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and her numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 3 husbands, her son-in-law Albert Bassingthwaite, her 8 sisters and 3 brothers and her parents. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL. 764-2727 Don Moriarty – Funeral Director
