ELIZABETH RUTH (BESSIE) STEWARD (nee McGrath) born on May 15, 1911, passed away on October 3, 2008 at the age of 97. Born in Moose Jaw, Bessie married Raymond on October 12, 1942 and lived in the Crane Valley District for sixty-five years. They retired back to Moose Jaw in 1982. Bessie and Raymond met in 1937 as she was teaching at Bliss Lake and boarded with Raymond’s uncle Seth Steward. She later moved to Crane Valley to teach and board at Raymond’s parents. They raised their four daughters here. Bessie was a loving wife and mother - cooking for her husband and family gave her the greatest joy and she was so good at it. She also enjoyed traveling to over 30 countries with Raymond. Bessie was very active in the Community, especially the United Church and the United Church Ladies Aid. She was active in the Rebekah Lodge and became a lifetime member. She was also a lifetime member of Timothy Eaton Gardens. They attended Zion United Church which had been Bessie’s church as a young girl. Bessie and Raymond lived in their own home until the last three months of her life. Bessie’s remaining days were lived comfortably thanks to the caring staff at Pioneer Lodge. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and James McGrath, brother, Jack McGrath; sisters: Helen Dunn, Mary Francis McKenna, Dorothy McCormick; brothers-in-law: William Dunn, James McKenna, Gillis McCormick and her niece, Brenda McCormick. Bessie is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Raymond; daughters: Marilyne – Calgary, Nancy – Edmonton, Shirley (Lorne) Ozipko – Emerald Park, Pat (Larry) Hesterman – Regina; grandchildren: Chris (Lori), Kent (Heather), Kevin (Rhonda), Ryan and Tracey; great-grandchildren: Alex, Andrew, Kate and Mya; and nieces: Sandra Dunn and Janis Jones. A Celebration of Bessie’s Life will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will follow at the family plot, Rosedale Cemetery. GORDON GILLIS
James Gordon Gillis of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, born October 13, 1929 in North Battleford, passed away on September 29, 2007 in Moose Jaw. He is predeceased by his mother, Marion Esther Gillis of Moose Jaw, and his wife, Ilene (Boyd) Gillis of Mortlach. Gordon is survived by his "Special" Friend, Eileen Miller of Moose Jaw; daughter, Susan Getzlaf and grandsons Christopher and Ryan Getzlaf of Regina; son, Glen Gillis, his wife Doreen and granddaughters, Nicole and Ashley of Prince Albert; daughter, Colleen Richardson, her husband Leslie, and grandsons Morgan and Logan of Saskatoon; and daughter, Marlene Gillis of Saskatoon. James "Gordon" Gillis married Ilene Boyd on January 31, 1953. Gordon and Ilene, moved to Mortlach, Saskatchewan in 1954 and raised their family there. He was the administrator for the Rural Municipality of Wheatlands #163 for 37 years from May 1, 1954 to May 31, 1991 and for the Village of Mortlach from 1959 to 1979. A highlight of his tenure in Mortlach was the building of the first water and sewer system for the village. His town office was a favourite meeting place for local farmers and village residents. He always had the coffee on and a story to tell as he dealt with the business of the day. Upon retirement, he moved to Moose Jaw. Gordon was active in the Mortlach community. In his early years, Gordon enjoyed curling and bowling. As his children got involved in sports and other activities, so did he. Gordon was the softball coach for his daughters for many years. He coached his son in hockey from Mites to Pee Wee. He was there to watch the figure skating, the volleyball, the basketball, the drama nights and the many other activities his children were involved in. His love of sports in general and particularly hockey and football has been passed down through to his grandchildren. There will be a private family graveside service for Gordon. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorials to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, S4T 1A5, would be appreciated. In living memory of Gordon, a tree will be planted by W. J. CHARLOTTE KLYNE
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend, CHARLOTTE LOUISE KLYNE of Mortlach, Saskatchewan on Sunday, April 27, 2003. Born August 8, 1943, Charlotte was predeceased by her mother, Ina Taylor, her sister, Dorothy Moore, and her step-mother, Myrtle. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Eddie; three children: Tim (Tammy) of Calgary, Ina Marie (Ron) of Two Hills, Alberta and Rod (Nicole) of Edmonton, brother, Earl (Marilyn), sister, Marg (Ed) Penner, her father, Stan Taylor; grandchildren: Danielle, Alyssia, Kelli, Candace, Douglas, Caitlyn, Andrea, Tim and Candi; two great-grandchildren: Sierra, Savannah, Colton and Austin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

YVONNE MISUGA
Our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandma, aunt, and dear friend, Yvonne Fay Misuga passed away suddenly January 31, 2008 at the age of 60 years. Mom was born in Moose Jaw on January 3, 1948. She is predeceased by her father, Ernie (1997); mother Marion (2004); brother Marvin (2004); and husband Ed (2006). She will always be loved and remembered by her son, Edward – Parkbeg, daughter Ora-Lee (Jason) and grandson Cache – Tisdale, nephew Marlon (Jeanine) Smith – Regina; niece Wendy Smith – Regina; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mom loved and operated the restaurant and gas station at Parkbeg for 30 years with Dad, was a nanny and then was the cook at Heartland Livestock in Moose Jaw until her passing. Mom loved family, friends, animals, flowers, crafts, embroidering, and visiting. She was the rock in our family and will be cherished in our hearts for eternity. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday February 5, 2008 at 3:30 pm. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Dillan Ross Kaduhr, infant son of Kelly & Leslie and brother to Taylor & Jordan and Kayleigh & Jayda Lynn passed away suddenly at home on Monday, August 2, 2004 at the age of 2 months. Dillan is also survived by his grandparents, Ross and Sharon McKenzie, Sandra Hanson and Dorin Lascau, his great-grandparents and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends. OWEN MATTHEW CHOW
Born February 19, 2002, on March 2, 2004, OWEN MATTHEW CHOW left this earth to receive his wings. He had to deal with various struggles in his short life and for those who knew Owen, they knew that these obstacles never bothered him. He always had smiles and giggles. He will be lovingly remembered by his Mom and Dad, Cara and Allan, his big brother, Payton; grandparents: Wayne and Val Short, Al and Linda Rivers as well as all his aunties and uncles: Uncle Corey, Auntie Tricia and cousin, Montana, Uncle Cory and Auntie Nadine, Uncle Jason and Auntie Mona, and Uncle Garth. A Celebration of Owen’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. It is with sadness that the family of CHARLES “KEITH” FORSYTH announce his passing on August 23, 2004. Keith was predeceased by his wife “Jimmie” and is survived by his children: Sandra Waldie (Norm Doucette) and Sandy and Dorothy Forsyth. Keith will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Colin and Stacey Waldie, Daniélle and Jeremy Broughton, Allison Forsyth and Tyler Forsyth. Keith enjoyed his great-grandchildren: Thalia and Ethan Waldie and Emma Broughton. Keith will also be missed by special friend, Hazel Blades.
