PENNY LIVINGSTON

On July 17, 2007 at about 11p.m. our beloved Penny passed away, attended by her loving husband Bob who has been by her side constantly through the past six months of her illness. She was afflicted with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and had been awaiting a lung transplant at University of Alberta Hospital. She was alert and bright to the end – she beat Bob in a cribbage game just hours before she died. Penny was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan as the youngest of three children born to Hope and Al Hickson. She graduated from the Convent of Sion in 1957. In 1962 she married Bob after a seven year courtship. The couple made their home in many places over the years, but raised their children in Regina. They retired to the home they built on Buffalo Pound Lake, which Penny loved. The last eight years of her life, Bob and Penny spent their winters in Florida with their oldest son Terry and his family. Penny had a vibrant and active mind, and this was reflected in the scope of educational, volunteer, and vocational pursuits she undertook and excelled at. She was an advanced registered laboratory technologist, a school teacher, a real estate sales agent, and a specialist pharmaceutical sales representative. She served in numerous volunteer positions including the board of directors of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council and as team manager of the Regina Optimist Dolphins Swim Team. Her great vocational talent was singing. She sang with the world renowned Mendelssohn Choir in Toronto, and was in great demand as a soloist with jazz groups, at church, and at funerals and weddings. Predeceased by her parents, Hope and Al Hickson; her brother, Clive Hickson; and her sister, Faith Cowin, Penny is survived by Bob; son Terry (Chris) and their children: Michael, Sean and Matthew; son, Brian (Shandra) and their daughters: Cassidy and Alyssa. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations in Penny’s name be made to H.O.P.E (Human Organ Procurement and Exchange) program, University of Alberta Hospital, 8440 112th St., Edmonton, AB, T6G 2B7. They also request that friends consider becoming organ and tissue donors and making their loved ones aware of their wishes. In living memory of Penny, a tree will be planted by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

RICK MOORE
May 20, 1962 - March 31, 2008

Rick's mother Lois, brother-in-law Gilles and old buddy Kent are pleased to announce that Rick has come to join them for a visit. Followed by a round of golf and a few drinks with Gilles and a quick game of hockey with Kent, Rick will join his mom to tell her all about his life and the many successes he has enjoyed since they were last together. Rick enjoyed many memories with his father Bob, brother Mike and sisters Cary, Shannon and Wendy along with their partners and children. A highlight from childhood for Rick was of the times when he and his family spent part of their summer vacation at Baker's Inn at Waskesiu National Park. He also remembers, with affection, hanging out with the Henday Bay Bunch along with the Portage La Prairie crew. Rick also will tell his mother of the fine people that he came to know in his in-laws Rino and Louise, Chuck and his wife along with their children, grandson and other nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed a few rounds of golf with the crew from the Edmunston Golf Club. Rick was fortunate enough over the years to enjoy the love and support of his extended family Fred and Bev, Jim, as well as Earl and Gladys and all of his cousins. Rick would also want to make special mention of his grandmother Margarita as well as his God-parents Wayne and Lynn. In visiting with his mother, Rick would absolutely want to tell her about the fun times (but not all) that he had with his hockey team - The Bullets. Over the years they enjoyed many games together not to mention a bevy or two. Rick was fortunate enough to work in a field that he loved. Rick's work took him far and wide - including a trip to the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia to bring Canadians up-to-date news on their athletes. While Rick may have felt a sense of appreciation and of family in working with the staff from The Times Herald, the feeling was mutual as it was his peers who successfully nominated him for the Ovation Award which recognizes excellence in writing. In catching up with his mom after all of these years, Rick would be most proud of sharing with her his good fortune in having met Denise and of having married the love of his life on August 14, 1999. Since then, they created a wonderful life together full of love, laughter and challenges - some of which were character builders and some of which were life-altering. Rick is certain to have many stories to share with his mother of his time spent with Denise - enough stories to keep them visiting for some time to come. Please join Denise and all those who are proud to be part of Rick’s family and friends in celebrating his life on Saturday April 5, 2008 at 1:30 pm at the Ned Andreoni Gym at Vanier Collegiate, 324 MacDonald St. W. For those so wishing, memorials in Rick’s memory may be made to Homecare, c/o the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, or the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2. In living memory of Rick, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
