FLAVIA WARREN (nee Skelton) of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully January 1, 2004. Born March 10, 1917, she was predeceased by her husband Harry, parents George and Mary Skelton, her brother Gordon, brothers-in-law Harvey and Russ Warren and nephew Garth Warren. She is survived by her son Darrel (Doreen) of Regina, grandson Devin (Joyce) and their children Heidi and Derris of Regina, granddaughter Danean (Trevor) Millard and their daughter Brittany of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, sisters-in-law Maurine Fulmore of Calgary and Eileen Skelton of Moose Jaw as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Flay was a great mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her independence. She loved gardening, knitting, music and watching sports on T.V. and being with family and friends. A Celebration of Flavia’s Life will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Captain Stephen Kennedy will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Flowers most gratefully declined. Donations in her memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). In living memory of Flavia, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
B. JUNE WOODLEY
Mrs. June Woodley of Moose Jaw passed away September 12, 2003, at the age of 73 years. June was born in Moose Jaw and grew up in the Drinkwater district, where she attended school. She attended the U.of S. and graduated with a B.A. June was a Lab Tech at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital until her retirement. Predeceased by her parents, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Don; daughters: Lee (Peter) Lunde - Calgary, Linda (Jim) DeLong – Airdrie; son, Grant (Denise) – Drinkwater; grandchildren: Matthew, Clinton and Allison Lunde; Jaylein and Kyle DeLong; Corey, Kirk (LeeAnne) and Amanda Woodley; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Woodley; brother, Bill (Greta) Smith; sister, Norma (Bob) Watson; sister-in-law, Margie Woodley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at Minto United Church, 1036 Seventh Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 1:30 pm. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, 455 Fairford ST.E., S6H 1H3, or the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, S4T 1A5, would be appreciated. FRED TCHOZEWSKI
FRED TCHOZEWSKI of Moose Jaw passed away April 1, 2009. Born February 14, 1922 in Clair, Saskatchewan, Fred was raised on a farm in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He married Edna M. Rolfe on May 21, 1950 becoming a step-father to Kelly and then they had one daughter, Lorraine. They moved to Rouleau where Fred and Edna managed the Rouleau Hotel. The family then moved to Moose Jaw where Fred worked at the Grant Hall until its closing. He then finished his work career with Dominion Floors until retirement. Fred enjoyed gardening, camping and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, Edna in 1992, Fred is survived by his daughter, Lorraine (Larry) Hall of Moose Jaw and their children: Jasen (Cherise) Hall of Moose Jaw and their son Jayden; and Lori (Dennis) Bennett of Langdon, AB and their children: Jacie, Travis, Kael and Danika; one stepson, Kelvin (Beth) Sorrell and families of Winnipeg. A private family graveside service at Rosedale Cemetery will be held at a later date. Della Ferguson will officiate. HAROLD LEWRY
With great sadness we announce the death of Harold Alexander Lewry in Calgary, AB on January 3, 2005. Harold was born in Moose Jaw, SK on March 13, 1956. Predeceased by his parents Jean and Louis (Scoop) Lewry, he is survived by his son Scott Lewry and Scott’s mother Connie. He will be missed and remembered with love by Scott; Harold’s companion and friend, Freda Starr; brother-in-law Bob Koochicum; brother Phillip (Doreen) Lewry, Pam (Baron) Nimegeers, Paula (Mike) Andrews, and Christopher; sisters: Catherine (Bob) Patterson, Ken, Doug, Stephen (Robin); Janet Lewry, Karen, Travis, Nicole, and Tyler Legare; Mary (Roger) Rothwell, Jordan, Micheil, Graham and Tess; Aunt Hazel Lewry; Aunt Grace Hill (England); many cousins, friends and co-workers. Harold worked at his life-long passion, painting and repairing cars. He enjoyed fishing, boating and time at Grandview Beach; caring for and loving animals, especially the family dog “Canna” and cat “Som Tong”. A Celebration of Harold’s life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday January 14, 2005 at 1:30 pm. Pastor Wayne Lewry will officiate. Following cremation, a Family Graveside Service and Interment at Rosedale Cemetery will be held at a later date. JOHN BABICH
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of John Babich of Chateau St. Michael, Moose Jaw. John died peacefully August 26, 2005 at the age of 87 years, after a short battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Alex Babich, son Brent, and brother Steve Babich. John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret – Pioneer Lodge; children: Sandra (Jim) Russell – Saskatoon, Randy (Brenda) – Moose Jaw, Marla (Tom) – Moose Jaw, Bette Jayne (Stephen) Pope – Regina; grandchildren: Shauna, Laurie, Natasha (Chad), Nathan, Jayson, Laura, Stephanie; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kendall; sisters: Mary (George) Johnson – Toronto, and Olga Chomiak – Winnipeg; Margaret's numerous nieces, sisters, brothers, nephews and cousins. John was a long time employee of the CPR, retiring in 1979 after 44 years. He was a member of the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans #252. John enjoyed carpentry, model railroading, fishing, boating, bowling, gardening, helping with harvest, dancing; was a daily walker, and an avid record collector and music lover. He will be missed by all his relatives and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday August 30, 2005 at 3:30 pm. Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. GLADYS (CHICK) KLEIN
GLADYS (CHICK) EUNICE KLEIN, slipped away peacefully at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born in Moose Jaw on June 21, 1926 Chick was the youngest of five children. As a young woman, Chick belonged to the High Park Riding Club where she shared her love for horses and enjoyed Sunday afternoon rides. She was a member of the WaWa Ladies Shrine Auxiliary and was a long standing member with Daughters of the Nile Anget Temple 123 in Regina since 1961, as well as other special interest groups within the community. A self-named group of life time friends fondly referred to as “The Dirty Dozen” were a very important part of Chick’s life right up to the very end. The family would like to express a special thanks to the remaining members, Dr. Hugh McIntyre, Nellie Thompson and Russ and Aileen McGhie for all their support. Chick Klein lived her life with grace and dignity, “Always and Forever a Lady”. She is predeceased by her parents, sister Amy and brother Jack and just recently her beloved husband Sammy of 35 years. She will be sadly missed by her step-children: Barb (Alvin), Rick (Stella), Sherrie (Don), and her eight grandchildren: Ryan (Gina), Jordan, Tanya (Kevin), Terry, Andrea, Allison, Kada, and Keian; and her furry “granddog” Murphy; and one great-granddaughter, Bryll; two brothers, Bill (Marjorie) and Joe (Pat); special mention of nieces and nephews, Fred, Marina, Grace, Rick, and great-niece and nephews, Scott (Julie), Lynda, Jeff (Rhonda), and numerous others. Chick was a very private person so it is fitting that she requested to have an intimate graveside eulogy officiated by Della Ferguson, with those that she held near and dear. Family friends and acquaintances are welcome to join the family at St. Andrew’s United Church on Friday October 8, 2004 at 3:00 pm, for an afternoon tea in the Lounge & Court. FRAN BENNETT
MRS. FRANCES ANN “FRAN” BENNETT passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at the age of 74 years. She was born at Admiral, Saskatchewan January 20, 1932. On November 16, 1953 Fran married Budd Bennett and they continued to reside in the city. For many years Fran worked at both Hospitals in Moose Jaw, for a Doctor’s office and also at Ina Grafton Gage Home as a Registered Nurse. Predeceased by her parents, Ivan and Ann Bangle, two sisters and five brothers, Fran is survived by her husband, Budd; two daughters: Kerri (Perry) Bell – Medicine Hat and Yvonne Bennett – Moose Jaw; six grandchildren: Karyn, Jodi, Melissa, Falon, Steven and Adam; two great-grandchildren, one sister, Lorraine Dixon – Saskatoon, and one brother, Stuart (Lois) Bangle – Warren, Manitoba. A Memorial Service will be held in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Nobuko Iwai will officiate. Memorialization will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials for the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, 358 Langdon Cresent. Moose Jaw, Sk. S6H 0x4, would be appreciated.
