MRS. MURIEL POAG (nee: Goodnough), age 84, of Moose Jaw, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2007. Muriel was born in the Ettington district. After graduating from high school she attended Normal School where she received her teaching certificate. She married Jerry Poag in 1944 and together they lived at Expanse, Abernathy then moved to Moose Jaw in 1944. Muriel was predeceased by her parents, husband, Jerry, sister, Vera and granddaughter, Kayla. She is survived by her son, Terry (Pat), grandchildren: Kevin (Joan), Karrie and Ken; great-grandchildren: Amanda and Kyle; son, Dennis (Maureen); grandchildren: Tina (Nathan), Jonathan and Jolene (John); great-grandchildren: Autumn and Taitum; special niece, Debbie Ireland (Dale Tolver); brothers: Ron (Rose), Dennis (Bettie), Ted (Helen), Richard (Lois), Gale (Noella) and Stan (Marie); sisters: Julia Ludke of Moose Jaw and Linda (David) in Portugal, special friend, Jo-Ann Sayers, as well as many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Ted Goodnough and Kent Goodnough will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cosmopolitan Learning Centre, 810 Edgar Street, Regina, S4N 3H9. DOREEN ERICKSON
April 30, 1940 – June 28, 2003
Doreen passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2003, with family by her side, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Doreen was predeceased by her father, Irvin and sister, Linda. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Merv; her children: Wendy (Dale) Duzan, Shelly (Randy) Logan and Bryan Erickson – all of Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Michelle (Jarett) Deitz, Dalton (Whitney) Duzan, Derek Duzan, Rick (Jodi) Erickson, Ryan Erickson, Danielle Erickson, Misty (Ryan) McLaren, Ashley Logan, Devin Logan, Colby Erickson, Taygan Erickson; great-grandchildren: Kaden Deitz, Colton McLaren, Connor Erickson, Drew Duzan, her mother, Mary Gomme, mother-in-law, Agnes Erickson; sisters: Jean (Norm) Matheis of Parksville, BC, Nancy (Les) Gould of Moose Jaw, Debbie (Bernie) Plantz of Nanaimo; brothers: Elgin (Donna) Gomme of Edmonton, Dick (Angie) Gomme of Saskatoon and sister-in-law, Dorothy McPherson, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance and Love will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw . Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery . Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening 7-9p.m. at the Funeral Home. LILY GRACE
On July 5, 2008, Lily Elizabeth Grace passed away peacefully at the age of 83. Lily leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Thomas Grace; daughters, Bev (Brian) Prior, and Pat (Frank) Pineau; sons, Brian (Helen) Grace, and Dean (Krista) Grace; as well as many beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lily was born and raised in Moose Jaw and was active in bowling and golf. She was very involved with speed skating, having taught pre-schoolers how to skate for more than 35 years. We would like to thank the staff of Providence Place for their special care of Lily. A Service of Remembrance will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday July 11, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Pastor John McCubbing will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. FRANCOIS CARL TREMBLAY
On January 30, 2007 Francois Carl Tremblay passed away at the age of fifty-three years in Prince George, British Columbia. Predeceased by father Roland, infant daughter Sabra and nephew Travais. Francois is survived by Charmaine (Tim) Raymond, Michelle (Ryan) Linda, Mother: Alice, Lucille (Byron) Lucie, Dan (Judi), Aileen (Edgar), Paul (Shirley), Rita (John), Guy (Jackie), Yvon, Lise (Jim).. His aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Our Lady Roman Catholic Church, Moose Jaw on Tuesday February 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Father Michael Conteh will officiate. HARTFORD GARNER
HARTFORD AUGUSTUS GARNER passed away July 24, 2005 in Moose Jaw at the age of 91 years. Hartford was born in Iowa, USA in 1914, coming to the Petrolia district with his family in 1919.He married Dorothy Brown in 1937, moving to farm in the Watrous district, returning to Moose Jaw in 1941. He served overseas in the Canadian Army from 1944 to 1946. In 1948 they moved to the farm in the Petrolia district. He was a member of the Petrolia United Church, served on the church and school boards and was a member of the Petrolia Orange Lodge. He served on the Moose Jaw R.M. Council and the Upper Qu’Appelle Valley Board. Retiring in 1980 they moved to Moose Jaw, joining the St. Andrew’s United Church. He was a member of St. Andrew’s A.O.T.S., the Royal Canadian Legion and took active part as a member of the Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club. Predeceased by his mother and father, Sarah and Charlie Garner, his loving wife, Dorothy, his son, Charlie; sisters: Cleo Kennedy, Pearl Lewis, Phylis McComb and Martha Reid; brothers: Othal, Wilbur and Seth. He is survived by sons: Fred (Lynne) of Weyburn and Gerald (Sharon) of Calgary, daughter-in-law, Marjorie of Carstairs, AB, sister, Marion Potter of Saskatoon; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Virginia Duncan and Bernice Smith of British Columbia, nieces and nephews as well as many long-life friends. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 1:30 pm. It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our long anticipated infant son, CHRISTOPHER ANDREW CAMERON whom God called to Him before his birth on March 6, 2003. MARY M FENSKE
Mrs. Mary Margaret Fenske of Moose Jaw passed away on Thursday March 6, 2008 at the age of 90 years. Mary was born in Mossbank on May 18, 1917. Mary is predeceased by her husband, Henry in 1976, two brothers and two sisters. Mary is survived by her son Dan (Vivian) of Calgary, their two daughters Belinda (Ray) and children Colleen, Daniel and Timothy, Mary-Jane and her daughter, Madison; son Ron of Mossbank and his children Jason (Kim) and Susanna; daughter Molly (Bruce) Gregory of Moose Jaw and their sons, Gerrad (Lora) Waughtal and their children Dayton and Dawson; Chad (Lori) Waughtal; one sister Arlene Howatt of Moose Jaw. In keeping with Mary’s wishes cremation will take place and a private memorialization will take place at the Mossbank Cemetery. In living memory of Mary, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.
