PAULINE DUNLOP

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, PAULINE (POLLY) DUNLOP. Polly passed away on January 17, 2004 at Moose Jaw Union Hospital with family by her side. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Paulette (Bob) Alexander of Edmonton, Jamie (Catharine) of Winnipeg and Carl (Nancy) of Saskatoon; nine grandchildren: Dean Neniska, Deanna (Katz) Olson, Cory (Debbie) Langley, Jeremy (Tammy) Langley, Jamie Dunlop, Joshua Dunlop, Patrick Dunlop, Luke Dunlop and Asia Alexander; and six great-grandchildren: Meghan Langley, Mathew Langley, Kale Olson, Jacob Olson, Izek Olson, Tyrell Dunlop, and a brother Paul (Lyall) Antymniuk of Saskatoon; four nieces and one nephew, many great nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends and neighbours. Predeceased by her husband Keith Dunlop, parents, Dan and Dora Antymniuk; two sisters: Anne Stevenson and Mary Antymniuk and a brother-in-law, Thomas Stevenson, a nephew, Daniel Stevenson. Pauline was a lifetime member of the Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans Auxilliary. The family would like to thank Dr.’s B. Takhar and F. Majid, and the physio and nursing staff at the Union Hospital for their professionalism, kindness and compassion during this time. A special thank you to close friends Greg and Dorothy Paddle and ladies of A&N Auxilliary. A Celebration of Polly’s Life will be held Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Reverend Peter J. Calhoun will of St. Andrew's United Church will officiate. Interment will be take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Army & Navy Vets, 112 - First Ave. N.E., S6H 0Y9 or to the Moose Jaw Little League Baseball and may be left with the Funeral Home. In living memory of Polly, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

BESSIE HICKS

Bessie Hicks of Moose Jaw and formerly of the Marquis district, passed away peacefully at Extendicare on June 15, 2004. Born in Moose Jaw in 1914, Bessie grew up in the Marquis district and attended Normal School in Moose Jaw. She then taught school in the Eyebrow and Chamberlain districts. Bessie married Dale Hicks in 1940 and they lived on the farm near Marquis until retiring to Moose Jaw in 1989. Predeceased by her parents, Carrie and Arthur Dignan; sister, Olive (Fred) Marshall; and brother, Perry Dignan. She is survived by her husband, Dale Hicks; brother, Allan (Deanie) Dignan; daughter, Carol (Wolf) Sawatzki; son, Clair (Flo) Hicks; grandchildren: Shannon (Ian) Bellinger and Dale Sawatzki; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Carman; sister-in-law, Kay Dignan; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care of the nurses and support staff at Extendicare who made her last days comfortable. A Private Family Memorial Services was held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel. Reverend Frank Mitchell officiated. Memorialization has taken place at Sunset Cemetery. In living memory of Bessie, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

GLADYS M. SAPERGIA

It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Gladys May Sapergia, May 4, 2007, at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital at the age of 87. Gladys was born to Gligor and Anna Sapergia on August 10, 1919 near Avonlea, Saskatchewan. She is predeceased by her parents, eldest brother George, elder brother John (Anne), and youngest brother Victor. She leaves behind younger brother, Paul (Violet), and sister-in-law (Irene), three nieces and three nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Gladys will be dearly missed but never forgotten. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Della Ferguson will be the Celebrant. Visitation for the family and friends will take place Monday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of choice would be appreciated. No Flowers Please. In living memory of Gladys, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

T. LESLIE BROWN

On November 3, 2007, T. LESLIE BROWN of Edmonton, formerly of Moose Jaw passed away at the age of 98 years in the Misericordia Hospital, Edmonton, AB. Les was predeceased by his wife Mildred, sister Irene (Roy) Pearson and brother Alex (Beulah) of Vancouver. He is survived by one son Bob (Maureen), grandchildren Jodi (Brad) Cowley and their children Jackson & Jordan, Bryson (Martina) all of Edmonton and grandson Rob (Tracy) and their daughter Jorja of Skowhegan, Maine. In keeping with Les’s wishes cremation has taken place and memorialization will be next to his mother, Elizabeth in Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. A special thanks is extended to the staff at the Meadowcroft Seniors residence, most particularly Caroline who took special interest in Les’s welfare, as well as the wonderful ladies of the homecare who saw to his daily needs. In living memory of Les, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

DENNIS MORRISON

Dennis Morrison, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2007. Dennis was born in Moose Jaw on March 18, 1947. He attended Victoria School, Peacock High School, and took a cabinet making course at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon. Dennis was in the Navy from 1964 to 1967 and worked for three years in BC before moving to Mortlach where he became the Custodian for the school. Dennis served on the Mortlach Recreation Board for a number of years and coached hockey. He moved to Moose Jaw in September 2006 due to illness. Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Betty; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Joyce Drullette; and brother-in-law, Brian Drullette, Dennis is survived by his wife, Darlene; children: Sandy (Frank) – Rocky Mountain House, AB, Leanne (Rick) – Abbey, SK, Dwayne (Lori-Anne) – Saskatoon, and Danaye (Scott) – Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Brooke; Joel, Bret and Evan; Kristina, Ryan and Riley; Ashley (Jamie), Landon and Kelsey; five brothers: John (Eileen), Jim, Bob, David (Sheila), and Glen (Gwen); sisters-in-law, Val (Wayne) and Sheila (Gene); and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday August 15, 2007 at 3:30 pm. Della Ferguson will be the Celebrant. Memorialization will take place at a later date. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2, would be appreciated. In living memory of Dennis, a tree will be planted by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

RUTH LIDDLE

The family of Ruth Liddle sadly announces her passing on September 25, 2007. A long term resident of Moose Jaw, Ruth was residing with her daughter and son-in-law at Thode, SK at the time of her death. She was 87. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Betty-Anne) Neudorf and her husband Dave, her much loved granddaughter Jennifer Neudorf and her husband Terry Wright, sister Eleanor Saal, sisters-in-law Ellen Ray, Edna MacLachlan and Marjorie (Norm) Swaney. Also left to mourn are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and their families. They all had a special place in her heart. She was honoured to have been included in the important events of their lives. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Ross Liddle in 1993, her parents Christian and Georgina Ray, sister Faye (Bob) McArthur, brothers Colin (Kitty) Ray, and Osbourne Ray; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Roy Saal, Mary Carter (Harvey Liddle), Marion (Ken Padget), Walter (Jean) Liddle, and Gordon MacLachlan. Mom was born in the Mossbank area on March 21, 1920 and spent her childhood on farms in the Ardill area. She moved to Moose Jaw in 1946 worked in the grocery business and for 30 years was a sales person for Scott National Company Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale. In her retirement she found a new community as a member of St. Andrew’s United Church in 1994. She valued her many friends made over the years. Mom learned at an early age that in order to survive the hardships of her generation, she had to persevere, work hard, count her blessings, and live one day at a time. She loved country drives, playing the violin, family gatherings, sitting in the sun, spring, practical jokes, knitting, crocheting, flowers, making sour cream raisin and pumpkin pies, entertaining and just being alive. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday September 29, 2007 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Nobuko Iwai will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

BILL BOSSENCE

WILLIAM HENRY BOSSENCE of Mortlach, passed away peacefully in Central Butte Regency Manor at approximately 10:30 p.m. September 13, 2004 at the age of 93 years. Leaving to mourn, his wife of 65 years, Rosalie; sons: George (Gail) and Bill (Brenda) and their families, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and two sisters, Gladys Kerr of Detroit and Fern Braden of Kamloops as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was a true Christian whose strong faith guided his life and his love for his family. In keeping with Bill’s wishes for simplicity, a private family interment will take place prior to the service. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Pastor Dennis Plett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mortlach Economic Development Committee, Mortlach, Sask., S0H 3E0. In living memory of Bill, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
