ANN BACHIU

PHYLLIS ANN BACHIU (nee Wilkening) passed away on July 29, 2003, surrounded by her family, following a brief stay at Regina General Hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Ann was born May 4, 1949 in Eastend, Saskatchewan, the third child of Phyllis (Price) and Rodney Wilkening. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob, her two sons, Michael (Moose Jaw) and Darren (Victoria, B.C.), her beloved grandchildren, Miranda, Justin, Kirsten, and Andrew and Cadence, her sisters and brothers, Pat Lorje (Saskatoon), John Wilkening (Calgary), Shari Mickleborough (Moose Jaw), Susan Richards (Moose Jaw) and Bob Price (Kamloops). Although Ann experienced many illnesses throughout her tragically short life, she always maintained her wonderful sense of humour, generosity and deep religious faith. Ann will be remembered for her distinctive laughter and her incredible love for her grandchildren. Ann’s family wishes to thank her many friends and caregivers for their love and support. They also extend their deepest respect to Dr. Suzanne Meiers, and the caring staff at the General Hospital . Ann, “Gammie” will be deeply missed and never forgotten. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel with Father Gerry Bauche and Stephanie Molloy officiating. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery . A trust fund for her grandchildren has been set up in Ann’s name at TD Canada Trust, Moose Jaw . In living memory of Ann, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home

William David (Bill) Finlayson

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father on January 28, 2005 at Providence Place, Moose Jaw. A Memorial Reception will be held at the Prairie Oasis Tourist Complex, Room 44, Wednesday February 2, 2005 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the W.D.Finlayson Mortlach High School/SIAST Scholarship Fund, c/o W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Ltd. In living memory of Bill, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

MARY ROSE HERPERGER (Molnar)

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Herperger announces her sudden passing at the age of 92 years on Saturday, September 6, 2008. Mary was born on May 16, 1916 in Stockholm, Sask. to parents Stephen Molnar and Rose Trohak. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Herperger, on December 9, 1973, daughter Vida, her brothers and sisters, Steve, Henry, Joe, John and Leslie Molnar, Anne Kalaman and Emma Hunchak, brothers-in-law Leslie and Ernest Herperger, Alex Kalaman, Frank Gal, sisters-in-law Helen Gal, Theresa Molnar, Lillian Molnar, and Delores Molnar. She is survived by her children: Rosemary (Al) Hajdu, Catherine (Wayne) Robinson, Cecilia (Denis) Brisebois, Lawrence (Sharon), Eileen (Nelson) Faubert, Gloria (fiancée Gary Smith), and Gabe, 17 grandchildren and 16 ¾ great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Theresa Herperger and brother Edward Molnar, sisters-in-law Adele and Ruth Molnar, Anne (Edwin) Rogalski and brothers-in-law Alfred Herperger (Loretta) and Nick Hunchak, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking. She especially enjoyed family get-togethers (which were many), going to the Casino, visiting with friends and family (she always presumed you needed lunch or a meal) and cheering for the Sask. Roughriders. Prayers and visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m. at Little Flower Church, 420 College Ave., Regina. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flower Church with Rev. Bill Mahoney officiating. All are welcome to join us as we lay Mom to rest with our dad, Joseph J., in the Stockholm Catholic Cemetery on Saturday, September 13th at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Dr. G. O’Byrne and the nurses and doctors at the Pasqua and General Hospitals and the paramedics of the Regina Ambulance Services for their excellent care and support during her stays. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Parish Cemetery Fund (Box 155, Stockholm, S0A 3Y0).
In living memory of Mary, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ALBERT SCHUETT

Albert Schuett passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2003 at the age of 77 years. Albert was born in Avonlea, Sask. on December 2, 1925. He lived and farmed in the Claybank area until his retirement. Albert married Hilda Kiefer in 1955 and raised seven daughters on the farm. The past eight years have been spent in Extendicare. The family extends their heartfelt thanks for the many years of dedicated care; and especially to Verla Uhrich, his best friend and caregiver for her endless hours of love and attention at his side. Albert is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Eva Schuett; sisters, Beth (Joe) Maier and Othelle Gartner; brother, s Bernard Schuett, and one in infancy; brother-in-law, Sabby Nestman; and granddaughter, Marlo Kelly. He will be sadly missed by his loving family: Karen McCann – Saskatoon; Laurel (Dave) Kelly – Saskatoon; Mary Hobbins (Victor Ford) - Edmonton; Julie (Mark) Ramsay – Calgary; Fay (Jim) Cockburn – Briercrest; Gail (Scott) Jorstad – Briercrest; Nola (Jerry) Hnatuik – Houston, Texas; nineteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters: Irene Nestman, Hilda (Johnny) Nestman, and Theresa (Martin) Dombowsky; brother-in-law, Frank Gartner; and many nieces and nephews. An Evening Prayer Service will be held at the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Claybank, Saskatchewan on Wednesday September 3, 2003 at 7:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church on Thursday September 4, 2003 at 1:00 pm, Father John-Ryan Prince officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph’s Church Memorial Fund, Claybank, would be appreciated by the family. In living memory of Albert, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

MANSELL CLIFTON BIDEN
December 28, 1910 – July 27, 2005

It is with sadness the family of Mansell announces his peaceful passing at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital surrounded by his loving children. Mansell was predeceased by his parents, Herb and Alma, his wife, Marjorie in 1979, his son, Gregory in 2001; brothers: Byron, Murray, Glenford, and a sister, Norah. He will be greatly missed by his children, Gwelda Hales (Ken) of Regina, Audrey Biden of Victoria, Grant Biden of Moose Jaw and grandchildren: Melissa, Brent, Brodie, Tanis, Whitney, Haylee and Rhiannon. He is also survived by two sisters: Beatrice and Norma, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mansell was born in Wolseley, Saskatchewan in 1910 where he lived until 1939 when he enlisted along with his brother Byron in the armed forces. He proudly served in England, France, Belgium and Holland - experiences that changed him forever. His dear brother Byron was shot down in 1943. After the War he met and married Marjorie Toder and together they raised their family in Moose Jaw. His work life saw him in various positions as a salesman, truck driver, factory worker and finally as the managing caretaker of the Armories. Mansell’s family would like to thank Home Care for the wonderful care they have provided him. A Celebration of Mansell’s Life will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Della Ferguson will officiate. Donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, c/o 268 High St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 1S8. In living memory of Mansell, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ANN LASBY

Ann (Myren) Lasby, passed away peacefully January 17, 2008, at Extendicare, Moose Jaw. Ann was born March 3, 1909, in Winger, Minnesota. She came to Shaunavon, with her parents Peder and Josephine Myren, along with her brothers Carl, and Joe, and sister Clara, in 1912. After attending rural school, she moved to Moose Jaw, where she was employed. It was there she met and married Ray Lasby, in 1940. They farmed and ranched in the Moose Jaw area until Ray's death in 1958. Ann continued farming on her own for a few years, then retired and moved to Moose Jaw, where she spent her remaining years. Ann was predeceased by her husband Ray, her parents Peder and Josephine Myren; her sister Clara Semenchuck in 1983; her brother Carl in 1988, brother Joe in 1976, and brother Alfred in 1997. She is survived by her sisters Mabel McIntyre, Saskatoon, and Myrtle Boyle, Regina. Also surviving are special niece Shirley (Ed) Begin, Moose Jaw; nephew Gary (Bunny) Semenchuck, Regina, niece Gail (Charlie) Daniels, Calgary, nephews Robert McIntyre, Saskatoon; Bob (Marilyn) Myren, Saskatoon; Richard (Maryann) Myren, Calgary; Bill Boyle, Los Angeles; Rick Boyle, Calgary; Dennis Myren, Houston, Texas, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Following Cremation, Private Family Services will be held, with interment at Rosedale Cemetery. Friends are invited to a time of Remembrance at W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw, on Tuesday January 22, 2008 from 2:30 – 4 pm. Special thanks to the staff at Extendicare for their care during Ann’s residency there. In living memory of Ann, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

RUSSELL McDONALD

Russell David McDonald passed away August 17, 2005 at the age of 77. A Graveside Service and memorialization of Cremated Remains will take place at Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw on Thursday August 25, 2005 at 1:30 pm. Russell will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Those wishing to join the cortege, may meet at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home at 1:15 pm. In living memory of Russell, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
