Andrew “Andy” Juba passed away on October 3, 2008 at the age of 82, at Grassland Nursing Home in Rockglen, SK. Andy was born September 5, 1926 on the family farm at Willowbrook. He is predeceased by his wife Jean, March 3, 1987, his daughter Lynda, October 26, 1999, his father William, November 19, 1965, and his mother Katie, February 2, 1977; his sister Annie in 1996, and brothers, Alex in 2000, Steve in 2001, Jim in 2006, and brother-in-law Alex Mirka. Andy is survived by one brother, Edward and his family – Swift Current; sister-in law Rose and her family - Saskatoon; and several nieces and nephews. Andy worked for the Department of Highways in Moose Jaw for many years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday October 8, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Father Yurij Lazurko will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorials to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Moose Jaw Chapter, would be appreciated. In living memory of Andy, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. BOB WELCH
ROBERT (BOB) JOHN WELCH passed away at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the age of 51 years. Bobby was born March 22, 1957 in Moose Jaw. At times Bob was his own worst enemy which caused him many struggles throughout his life. Even though life for Bob was very up and down, he never gave up. He was never forgotten, no matter what path he strayed down. Predeceased by his father Stan in 1976, his step-father, Les in 1997; grandparents and one uncle. Bobby will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving partner Geo Behm; daughters: Jessica of Texas, Laura (Cielito) Villanveua of Edmonton, and their mother, Carol. His children: Jessie, Melissa and Mitch and their mother, Kim Johnstone. His mother, Mildred Watson; brothers: Ken and Roy (Cathy); sisters: Marg Metereo (Jim Johnson), Maureen (Merv) Bruvold of Moose Jaw and Charlene of Prince Albert, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Bill Thomson will officiate. Private family memorialization will take place at a later date. Memorials for the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw, S6H 7K7 would be appreciated. ROBERT FOOTE
ROBERT HUGH FOOTE passed away on Monday, June 7, 2004 after a brief illness. Bob was born on January 19, 1920 at home in the Belbeck district. He attended Marlborough School and Central Collegiate. Following graduation he farmed in the Belbeck and Tuxford districts until his retirement to Moose Jaw. Bob was a member of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club, ANAVets and the BPO Elks. He is survived by his sister, Jean Getty of Moose Jaw, two nieces and a nephew and their children and grandchildren. In keeping with Bob's wish, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004 at 1:30 pm at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Bob’s memory to the Shrine Burn Unit, c/o Wa Wa Temple, 2065 Hamilton St., Regina, Sask., S4P 2E1 would be appreciated.
ROY BIRTWISTLE
Roy Birtwistle passed away peacefully March 11, 2003 at the age of 86 years. Roy was born June 20, 1916 in the Providence Hospital, Moose Jaw. He grew up on the family farm north of Ernfold and attended Rochdale School. Roy only left the farm to serve in the Air Force from 1943-45 and continued to farm until retiring to Moose Jaw in 1984. He married Florence Reid on March 1, 1945 and they raised three daughters. Roy was a member of the Calderbank Wheat Pool Committee, the Ernfold United Church Board, was a Director of the Morse Co-op, and an Aquadell 4-H Beef Leader. He was active in farm organizations, the Central Butte Fair Board, and the Ernfold Senior Citizens. Roy and Florence loved to dance, especially square dancing. Roy also enjoyed playing cards and games. Since moving to Moose Jaw he was a member of Minto United Church, Minto’s choir, the Sons and Daughters of the Pioneers Choir, Golden Voices Choir, both Seniors Clubs and the Waterlogs Swim Group. Roy loved to travel throughout Canada and the United States, also visiting Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Europe. He will be remembered for his smile, thoughtfulness, and always thinking of others before himself. Roy is predeceased by his parents, Alice and George Birtwistle; brother, Stan and his wife, Chris; and son-in-law, Ernie Wesolowski. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 58 years, Florence; three daughters, Linda (Doug) Hayner; Cheryl (Willis) Wingert; and Gail Wesolowski; five grandchildren: Jacqueline, Richard, Russell, Krista, and Kevin; sister, Mary (John) Green; many cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Grant and Julie Rourke. A Celebration of Roy’s life will be held at Minto United Church, 1036 Seventh Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw on Friday, March 14, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Gary Johnson will officiate. Memorials to Minto United Church Memorial Fund, the Union Hospital Foundation, 455 Fairford ST.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, or a charity of choice would be appreciated. JANET ADAM
Janet (Jean) Catherine Adamson Adam (nee: Hutton) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed into the presence of her Lord on March 31, 2007 at age 81 years. Janet was a long-time staff member at Briercrest Bible Institute at Caronport, Saskatchewan, residing there until 1989. Predeceased by: her parents, Peter and Jessie Hutton, sister, Jessie (Tom) Weaver. Janet is survived by: Robert Adam, her loving husband of almost 60 years; son - Allan Robert (Peggy) Adam of Coppell, Texas; daughter - Arlene Adam of Moose Jaw; sister - Olive Tighe of Peterborough, ON; brother - Douglas (Barbara) Hutton of Moose Jaw; five grandchildren: Kevin, Jeremy and Steven Adam; Eric (Bree) Adam and Melissa (Jeff) Andrew; two great-grandchildren: Zoe Adam and Joey Andrew and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Dautremont, Dr. Ramadan, Home Care workers, the nurses and other medical professionals for their excellent care of Janet especially in these past weeks. The Funeral Service will be held in the Edwards Chapel at Caronport, Saskatchewan at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2007. Interment will follow at Caronport Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be at W. J. Jones Funeral Home on April 4, 2007 from 3 to 4:30 pm and 7 to 8:30 pm. BETH STEEN
Beth Steen, of Moose Jaw, passed away surrounded by family on January 9, 2007. Beth was born in Saskatoon on October 9, 1926. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, an active member of Minto United Church, sang with the choir at Timothy Eaton Gardens, and was a former member of the Lynbrook Golf Club and the Hillcrest Curling Club. She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence and her brother, Jack Miller. Beth is survived by her children: Kathy, Ken (Margaret), and Tom (Liz); grandchildren, Mark, Michelle (Blaine), Kyle, Sheila, Amanda, and Rod, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. A Service of Remembrance will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday January 13, 2007 at 2:00 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. RONALD O. KRUSE
Ronald Owen Kruse, born in Montreal, Quebec November 18, 1931, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2005 at Providence Place. He was 74 years of age. Ron is predeceased by his wife Helen on January 18, 1989, (they were married on April 9, 1955 ), and step-mother Grace on March 11, 2005, his father, and brother John. He will now be reunited with his wife Helen in Heaven. Ron will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his two brothers and sister, as well as his three sons and their families: Ron and Rhonda Kruse, Karen and Jeremy Tyler, Victoria and Timothy Highton, Alicia and Brandon Kruse; Tim and Myrna Kruse, Morgan and Tristan Kruse and Amanda; Bill and Marj Kruse, Marc and Tamara, Shari Schultz, Christa and Al, Jessica, Braden, Michaela; and seven great-grandchildren. Ron was an air frame technician with the military for 35 years and has seen every corner of the world, working on many types of air craft. His place of retirement was here in Moose Jaw. He was a hobbyist with the Thunder Creek Model Railroad Club, and a Boy Scout Leader for many years. Upon Dad’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A visitation for family and close friends will be held on Monday March 14, 2005 from 7–9 pm at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. A Memorial Tea will be held on Tuesday March 15, from 2 – 4 pm at W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E., for those wishing to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 104 – 10335 172 St. N.W., Edmonton, AB, T5S 1K9, would be appreciated.
