It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Howard Hart on the morning of July 4, 2003. Howard was born in Central Butte on September 24, 1927. He was raised at Brownlee where he farmed the family farm from the age of 14. Howard retired from farming in 1983 due to health reasons. Howard greatly enjoyed his life as a farmer. He is predeceased by his wife, Patsy in 1993; his favourite sister, Evelyn in 1992; and his favourite brother, Lyle in 1981 and his parents, Clyde and Mabel. Howard will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children: Rachel (Mark) – Moose Jaw; Rhonda (Jim) – Moose Jaw; Randy (Karen) – Red Deer; Rodney (Louise) Leduc; twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 11:00 am. Pastor John Duerksen will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation Monday evening 7 – 9 pm at the Funeral Home. Memorials to the Sask. Lung Association, 1231 8th Street East, Saskatoon, S7H 0S5, would be appreciated. BEULAH HURRION
Beulah Circe Hurrion, of Moose Jaw passed away August 14, 2007. Beulah was born November 11, 1924 in Central Butte, Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm near Eskbank. She moved to Moose Jaw when she was a young adult and at this time met her husband of 64 years. Beulah is predeceased by her parents; Olive and Leslie Carter, brothers; Ronald and Cecil, sister; Edith, nephew; Keith and three infant grandchildren; David, Randy and Darren. She leaves to celebrate her life; husband; Ron Hurrion, daughters; Valerie (Harry) Trew, Pamela (Garnet) Peterson, grandchildren; Todd (Sherri), Sheila of Los Angeles, Melissa (John), and Graham, great-grandchildren; Ashleigh, Teanika, Heather, Miranda and Jayden, sisters, Myrtle and Alice, brothers; Lovell (Francis) and Jim, long time friends and her best friend, Betty Gardner. The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Sanderson and the staff at Moose Jaw Union Hospital who took special interest in caring for her in her time of passing. A Service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Major Don Law will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening, 7-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. JUNE MORHART
June Morhart (Newson) lost her battle with cancer on December 6, 2004. Born June 20, 1937 in Moose Jaw, she was raised in the Buttress district and attended Red Lake School. June is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Violet Newson. She is survived by her eight children: Carol (D’Arcy) Dighans, Dan (Debbie) Morhart, Edwina Milne (Béla), Freda (George) Hubert, Glenda (Brad) Eldstrom, Holden (Janit) Morhart, Adrian (Cindy) Morhart, and Owen (Laurinda) Morhart; her children’s father, Siegmund Morhart; twenty-eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Thelma Freeman, Pearl (Al) Patzack and Shirley Renaud. Mom’s best friends were her children. Her favorite pastime was watching her many grandchildren participate in various sport and community activities. She enjoyed family time playing games and cards. She also enjoyed playing various instruments and singing “the good old songs”. A Celebration of June’s life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday December 10, 2004 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Memorialization will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to the Allan Blair Clinic 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, S4T 1A5, would be appreciated. JOHN HOVDE
MR. JOHN HOVDE, age 93, passed away peacefully at Central Butte Regency Manor on Saturday, April 3, 2004. John was born at Tuddal, Norway in 1910. He came to Canada in 1930 and met his wife Leona at Tompkins, Saskatchewan. They began farming in the Grainland community and farmed there until the early 1970’s. John helped build the school in Central Butte, was janitor there for several years and also worked for the Central Butte Co-op. Predeceased by his parents, his wife, Leona in 2002, three brothers and two sisters, John is survived by his sons: Annon (Shirley) of Linden, AB, Stan (Terri) of Prince George, BC, Tom (Gail) of Kerrobert, SK, and daughter, Carol (Bob); thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as family in Norway. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in the Central Butte United Church. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate. Interment will take place in Central Butte Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorials to the Central Butte and District Health Care Foundation, Box 582, Central Butte, SK, S0H 0T0 would be appreciated. ORLEN HARTELL
JOSEPH “ORLEN” HARTELL of Tugaske, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2004. Orlen was born, raised and farmed all his life in Tugaske, retiring in 1993. Predeceased by his mother in 1946 and his father in 1970, Orlen is survived by his wife, Ada, sister, Jean (John) Babar of Kelowna and nieces, Gail, Deborah and Dawn. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 26, 2004 at 2:00 pm in the Tugaske Community Hall. Reverend Rick McCorrister will officiate. Interment will take place in the Tugaske Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations to the Tugaske United Church Operating Fund, c/o Box 62, Tugaske, Sask., S0H 4B0 in memory of Orlen. KATHLEEN (KAY) COX
KATHLEEN (KAY) COX, long time resident of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully May 3, 2006 at the age of 86 years. Kay led an active life working for English Whittaker lawyers, the Court House and until she retired as executive secretary to the Moose Jaw Health District. She was actively involved with the Minto United Church teaching Sunday School, CGIT and the U.C.W. She loved to travel but family always came first and she took an active interest in all their activities. In her spare time, what little she had, was spent knitting and crocheting for grandchildren and friends and tending to her flowers. Predeceased by her husband, Melvin Cox, her mother and father Catherine and Edward (Ted) Cudmore; sisters: Mary May Moffat and Betty Cudmore and sister-in-law Lindy Cudmore. Kay is survived by her two sons: Ronald (Arlene) - Strathmore, Alberta and their children: Dale (Terry) - Acme, Alberta, Denise (Graham) - Toronto and Lynn - Calgary; and Raymond (Wendy) - Dawson Creek, B.C., and their children: Curtis (Holly), Clinton, Trevor (Tracy) and Jeff (Amber) - all of Dawson Creek, and nine great-grandchildren, her sister, Alice Small of Moose Jaw, brother, Richard Cudmore - Selkirk, MB, brother and sister-in-law, Roy (Pearl) Cox - Saskatoon and Uola (Bunny) Cox - Saskatoon. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend John Carley will officiate. LETITIA "Tish" COATES
LETITIA “TISH” RUTH COATES (nee: Gibson) of Pioneer Lodge passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the age of 92 years. Born in Wilburforce, Ontario December 22, 1914, she came west with her parents in 1917 to Eskbank, Saskatchewan where they operated a store. Tish grew up in Eskbank and received most of her education there. She spent a year in Toronto, Ontario to further her education. In 1934 she returned to Saskatchewan and attended Normal School. After receiving her teacher’s certificate, Tish taught school at Mankota, Brandview and Keelerville. She married Herbert D. Coates of Keeler in 1937 where they farmed and raised their family. Tish took an active part in the Keeler community and was a member of Keeler United Church UCW. Tish retired to Moose Jaw in 1980 where she became involved with Minto United Church, curling, golf and bridge. Many winters were spent in Arizona, USA.. Predeceased by her parents, Lemuel and Harriet Gibson, her husband, Herbert Coates and son-in-law, Joe Templeton, Tish is survived by her son, Garry (Carol), daughter, Valerie Templeton; grandsons: Corey and Jeremy Coates, sister, Eileen (Arnold) Torgerson, special companion, Gerald Tilley, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Lodge for the care and compassion Tish received while residing there. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the W. J.
