February 3, 1950 – September 9, 2007
The family of Brian Mervin Pollon is saddened by the passing of our husband, dad, grandfather, and brother. Brian was born in Regina, and raised in Raymore, SK with his five sisters. Brian had a very active sports life, participating in baseball and his first love, hockey. It was through hockey that Brian met his wife Phyllis (Phaneuf) when he was 16 years old. They married in 1970 and raised two children, Todd and Kerri. Brian worked summers farming and doing road construction throughout high school. He then went to work for Mosaic (IMC Kalium) where he has been employed for the past 38 years. Brian coached minor hockey, baseball and ringette in Moose Jaw while his children were growing up and became known as “Mr. P.”. He was an avid hunter, loved camping, quading, fishing and golfing with his family during the summer, and ski-dooing in the winter. A highlight of Brian’s life this past year was a personal invitation by Stanley Cup Champion, Chris Kunitz of the Anaheim Ducks, to help celebrate in the victory of the cup visiting Regina, and spending the summer at the lake with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Mel and Margaret Pollon; his father and mother-in-law, Albert and Ella Phaneuf; and brothers-in-law, Bob Alm and James Jones. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Philly; son, Todd (Kambie Milnthorp); daughter Kerri (Troy Wareham) and very special grandson Travis Wareham, who was the light of grandpa’s life; five sisters: Elva Jones, Marj (Herm) Bassin, Betty Alm, Merle (Vern) Klein, and Beverly (Ross) Huckle; sisters-and brothers-in-law, Lorette and Peter Lown, Carol and Calvin Worth, Elaine and Duane Harding, and Sherry and James Munroe; also many nieces, nephews, and Aunt Edna Kraft and Uncle Cecil Worth. The Celebration of Brian’s life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday September 13, 2007 at 2:00 pm. Della Ferguson will be the celebrant. For those so wishing, memorials to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, S4T 1A5, would be appreciated. In living memory of Brian, a tree will be planted by W. J.
