THELMA GREGORASH

Thelma I. Gregorash, of the Bentley, Moose Jaw, and formerly of Weyburn, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2007 at the age of 85. Thelma was born in Moose Jaw on July 9, 1921. She married Theodore Gregorash on February 28, 1944. Predeceased by her husband, brothers Sidney, Arthur, and Gordon Wait; and sisters Maggie, Daisy, Gladys, Rose and Dorothy. She is survived by her sons: Bruce (Elizabeth) – New Zealand, David (Janus) – Prince George, BC, and Paul (Shirley) – Vernon, BC; grandchildren: Ryan (Debra) and Curtis (Anita) Gregorash; Phillip (Cheryl) Gregorash and Jennifer (Rob) Pellegrino, Kevin and Paula Gregorash; nine great-grandchildren. In keeping with Thelma’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, would be appreciated. In living memory of Thelma, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JIM ARNOTT

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Erle Arnott, beloved husband, father, grandfather and best friend on Sunday, April 1, 2007, with family by his side. Jim was born March 18, 1948, in Lethbridge, Alberta to Tom and Marion Arnott. Jim taught in the education system for 32 years, and was very dedicated to his students and his profession. He taught in Glenavon, Mortlach, Rouleau and retired from Peacock Collegiate in 2005. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Tom and Marian Arnott, and his mother and father-in-law, James and Elsie Paton, He leaves to mourn his wife, Fran; his children, Marcy (Mike) Gensburg; Kimberly Arnott and her special friend, Brent Lister, grandchildren Lexie and Sydnie Arnott; Cory Arnott and his special friend, Tana Statham; sister, Sherron (Dwight) Bearchell, brother, Tim (Glenda) Arnott; brothers-in-law, Dean (Val) Paton and Jim (Carol) Paton; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Jim was happiest when he was working with his hands, whether it be remodeling or creating beautiful pieces of wood working. He also loved spending time with his family and granddaughters, as well as spending a day at the golf course. He had just started to travel and see different parts of the world and was looking forward to a cruise in November. The family would like to thank the First Responders, nurses in the emergency and I.C.U. for their hard work, dedication, and compassion that was given to Jim and his family during his stay in the Union Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Tarhuni, Dr. Ramadan, and Dr. Geyer for their care. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St. N., Moose Jaw on Thursday April 5, 2007 at 4:00 pm. Della Ferguson will be the Celebrant. Memorialization will take place at a later date. Memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 2320 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, would be appreciated. In living memory of Jim, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

EDITH NASH

Edith Ethel Nash (Hobbs), passed away at Pioneer Lodge on January 20, 2004 at the age of 102 years. Edith was born in Ottawa, Ontario April 14, 1901 and moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, then to Regina with her parents in 1911. They then moved to a homestead in the Kelstern area, then to Moose Jaw in 1939. Edith was predeceased by her husband, Philip in 1963; daughters, Mary in 1924 and Lenore in 1935; two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by daughters, Grace (Bud) Jackson; Wanda Corlett; and Norma (Rusty) Restoule; sons: Alfred (Olive); Harvey (Helen); Gordon (Mary); twenty-two grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to express our profound thanks and gratitude to all of the staff at Pioneer Lodge for the wonderful, loving care mother received over the last 20 years. A Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Cemetery on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 2:00 pm. (Family and Friends may meet at the Cemetery.) Pastor Bill Thomson will officiate. A reception will follow at Trinity United Church. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials to a charity of choice, would be appreciated. In living memory of Edith, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JUNE FJAAGESUND

June Judith Fjaagesund was born to Ben and Margaret Le Grand on November 22, 1931in Chaplin at Mrs. Heieie’s Hospital, the second of three girls. June passed away on November 25, 2006 at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw with her family by her side. She attended Victoria School in the Droxford district. June completed her high school and post secondary schooling in Moose Jaw, graduating from Normal school in 1952. She went on to teach at Jordan, Tuxedo, and Mount Rumble schools. June and Marvin were married on October 26, 1954 at the Le Grand farm. They first lived and farmed at the Chris Fjaagesund farm south of Valjean, later making the Le Grand farm south of Uren their permanent home. In July of 2006 they moved to Bentley Estates in Moose Jaw. June’s first love was horses. She began riding at the tender age of 5 and was still breaking horses at the age of 67. Many people remember her as the flag bearer riding her white horse Chico in numerous Chaplin parades. June was an avid gardener. She took great pride in her yard and flowers. Every year she grew a terrific crop of potatoes and other vegetables, supplying the district with fresh asparagus. Marvin was appreciative of her contribution to the operation of the farm, both with the animals and field work. June is predeceased by her parents, Ben and Margaret and sister Shirley. She is survived by husband, Marvin; three sons: Barry (Terri) of Sechelt, BC; Lorne of Edson, AB; and Lee of Medicine Hat, AB; sister, Phyllis (Walter) Heiydt of Ernfold; two grandchildren: Mark (Marvalyn) Fjaagesund and family of Jamaica; and Lisa (Gary) Dawson and family of Maple Creek; also sisters-in-law and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In keeping with June’s wishes, there will be no public funeral service. In living memory of June, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by Prairie Memorial Funeral Home.

EUGENE (GENE) CANEVARO

EUGENE VICTOR CANEVARO, passed away peacefully in Moose Jaw on Monday, November 17, 2003. Gene was born at Old Wives, Saskatchewan on June 8, 1919. He was predeceased by his mother, Theresa, father, Dominic; brothers: Johnny and Victor, and by his wife, Leona (Lizee). Gene is survived by daughters: Judy (Gary) Kempf, Donna (Curtis) New and Carol (Bryan) Spence; grandchildren: Jodie Kempf, Shannon (Clint) Robinson and Mindy New and two sisters: Rose (Orville) Boyle and Delphine D'Appolonia. In keeping with Gene’s request, a private family graveside service will be held. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the 50 Plus Club, Mossbank, Saskatchewan, S0H 3G0. In living memory of Gene, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

GABRIELLE MARSHALL

It is with great sadness that the family of GABRIELLE (GABE) MARSHALL announce her peaceful passing on April 21, 2003. Gabe was born on August 29, 1929 in the Minton District. There she was raised as a child. In 1951 Gabe married Jim Marshall and moved to the Big Muddy area where they farmed, and raised their family. Gabe then moved to Moose Jaw where she since resided. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and was noted for her hard work, laughter and sense of humour. She loved camping, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Gabe was a member of the Seniors Fitness Club, where she acquired many new friends. She also enjoyed her many walks through Wakamow Park. Gabe was predeceased by her parents, Bertha and Ernest, her husband, James, brother, Victor Tessier, infant brother and sister, brother-in-law, Claude LeBlanc and two grandsons. Gabe is survived by her eight children: Laverne (Angie), Jeanette (Eldon) Godlien, Donnie (Lynn), Julie (Randall), Lorne, Marlin (Linda), Marlowe (Cindy), Karen (Rodger) McMartin; 30 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 12 sisters and brothers: Norman (Vern), Clement (Cecile), Clemence (Peter) Hoffart, Theresa LeBlanc, Yvette (Ralph) Hoffart, Albert (Simone), Pauline (Daniel) Hoffart, Jeanine Tessier, May (Octof) Uytterhagen, Emile (Josie), Marion (Ken) Halvorson, Lena (Jerome) Tangedal as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces, and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 25, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph ’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 Third Avenue N.W., Moose Jaw. Father Michael Conteh will preside. A Prayer Service will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Church. Family and friends are invited to the interment at Marshall Cemetery in Big Muddy at approximately 3p.m. Friday with reception at 4p.m. at the Big Beaver Hall. Memorials to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 521, Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 4P2 would be appreciated. In living memory of Gabe, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

BILL KERGAN

William Andrew Kergan, long time resident of Moose Jaw, passed away on Monday October 4, 2004 with his loving wife of sixty years by his side. Bill was born on December 28 1913 on the family farm near Kincaid, SK. After his schooling, he worked for the city of Moose Jaw reading water meters. Bill then began working for National Light and Power before transferring to Saskatchewan Power where he worked until his retirement. Following retirement, Bill also worked at the Canadian Salt Plant for a number of years. Bill was an ingenious individual who could fix just about anything and always knew how and why things worked. He was a very loving and caring individual who went out of his way to help others. Bill is predeceased by his parents, John and Sarah, two brothers: George and Bob; five sisters: Anne, Margaret, Mary, Fern, and Sarah; niece Barbara Kergan and nephew Joel Kergan. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary and sister Alice Mark; brother-in-law Bill Cross; special nephews and nieces: Jack, Kelly and Guy Kergan, Kerry Mortenson, Holly Wandell, Doris Wakefield, and Don Lehr; as well as many other nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday October 8, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Reverend Steven MacCuaig will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials to the First Baptist Church, 1010 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, S6H 3K8, the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2, or the Canadian Diabetes Assoc., 104, 2301 Ave. C. N., Saskatoon, S7L 5Z5, would be appreciated. In living memory of Bill, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
