MARY GOMME

MRS. MARY GOMME (nee Vik), age 83, of Moose Jaw, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004. Born May 16, 1920 in Norway, Mary came to Canada around the age of six. She had been a resident at Pioneers Lodge for the past seven years. Predeceased by her husband, Irvin, two daughters: Linda and Doreen, three brothers and two sisters, Mary is survived by two sons: Elgin (Donna) of Edmonton, Dick (Angie) of Saskatoon; three daughters: Jean (Norm) Matheis of Parksville, Nancy (Les) Gould of Moose Jaw and Debbie (Bernie) Plantz of Nanaimo, son-in-law, Merv Erickson of Moose Jaw; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren as well as two sisters: Alice and Astrid. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, #301-2550-12th Ave., Regina, S4P 3X1 would be appreciated. In living memory of Mary, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

PERCY JORDISON

PERCY LEBER JORDISON, age 102 years of Moose Jaw passed away April 1, 2004. Born May 27, 1901 in Monteagle, Ontario, Percy was predeceased by wife, Bessie, daughter, Melba, son, Bruce, son-in-law, Jim, grandson, Ronald and great-granddaughter, Judy. Percy is survived by his daughter, Margaret of Crane Valley, son, Robert (Beryl) of Moose Jaw, brother, Fred (Gladys) of Moose Jaw, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Cosmo Senior Citizen Centre, 235 Third Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw. Mr. Bill Luther will officiate. Interment will take place at Crane Valley Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening 7-9 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Memorials for The Terry Fox Foundation, Suite 210, 1102-8th Ave., Regina, Sask., S4R 1C9 would be appreciated. In living memory of Percy, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

MARY WILLFONG

MARY WILLFONG passed away suddenly at the Pioneer Lodge on Saturday, August 20, 2005, at the age of 75 years. Mary was born in Moose Jaw on July 9, 1930. She is survived by her husband, Murray, son-in-law, Alvin – Saskatoon, grandson, Adam – Saskatoon, granddaughter, Jeanette – Saskatoon, great-grandson, Ryan – Saskatoon, great-granddaughter, Tia; brothers-in-law: Harold (Joyce) and Glen (Delores) – of Moose Jaw and sister-in-law, Bernice – Duncan, B.C. Mary will be remembered for her long time employment at St. Anthony’s Home in Moose Jaw, laundry Department, serving as a Supervisor, retiring in 1991. The Funeral Service will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening, 7-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow and memorialization will take place privately at a later date. In living memory of Mary, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

DANNY STAMINA

Danny Stamina passed away September 9, 2009 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer. Danny was born July 22, 1935 at Kayville, Saskatchewan where he farmed all his life. Danny was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, his mother, Rose Spicer and father A.J. Stamina and a brother Garry Stamina. He leaves to celebrate his life his children, Donna (Dan) Rollie - Rocanville, SK, Audrey (Mike) Houghton - Kelowna, BC, Reg (Antionette) Stamina, Pilot Butte, SK, and Annette (Phil) Korbo, Onoway, AB; nine grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery (9th Ave. S.W toward 15 Wing). Reverend Earla McKinnell will officiate. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to Relay for Life, c/o Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2. In living memory of Danny, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JOHN CLINE

JOHN ROBERT CLINE of the Moose Jaw district, passed away May 17, 2007. Born March 3, 1948 in Moose Jaw, John was raised in the Belbeck area. He attended Postville, Alexandria and Riverview, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Diploma in Education at the University of Saskatchewan. John returned to the family farm following his father’s death in 1970. He and his wife Jean were married in 1971 and farmed in later years with their sons until his passing. Predeceased by his parents, Holley and Ruth Cline, John is survived by his wife, Jean and sons: John (Erin), James and Joseph, and by his grandson, Jesse. John was a farmer in the finest sense of the word. He passed his appreciation of the land and livestock on to his sons. John served on the local elevator committee, the Lindale School Board, and was involved in the Moose Jaw 4H Sheep Club. He also played slow pitch and spent many evenings watching the Moose Jaw Warriors in their endeavors. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery. Pastor Roger Foust will officiate. Those wishing to attend may meet at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home between 1 - 1:30p.m. to follow in procession to the cemetery. A reception will follow at 2p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 104 – 2301 Ave. C. North, Saskatoon, S7L 5Z5. In living memory of John, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

MARGARET PURDY
1922 - 2007

Margaret Purdy of Moose Jaw, formerly of Keeler and Brownlee, passed away Saturday April 14, 2007, with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband, Gordon; her children: Donna (Paul), Doug (Rhonda), Ken (Sandy), Kathy (Ron); her grandchildren: Erik, Holli, Karen (Mike), David, Gary (Lee), Jason (Sarah), Allison and Robert; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, Don (Ione) Schwabe. A luncheon to remember and celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on Thursday April 19, 2007 from 2:30 – 4 pm at W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of your choice, would be appreciated. In living memory of Margaret, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

KIM McINTOSH

Kim McIntosh of Moose Jaw, passed away January 15, 2007, surrounded by her family. Kim is predeceased by her common-law spouse John Coyle. She is survived by her mom, Gloria Greer; sisters, Debbie McIntosh (Chris Hameluck) and Kerry Hough; brothers, Willie and Brian J; nieces Lorraine (Dominick) and Brittany Gallant, nephew Billy McIntosh; and her dad, Thomas Brian (Darleen) McIntosh. The Service of Remembrance will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday January 19, 2007 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Bill Hameluck will officiate. Memorials to the Canadian Aids Society, 1102 Angus St, Regina, SK S4T 1Y5, would be appreciated. In living memory of Kim, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JOE CASARIN

Giuseppe Giovanni (Joe/Joseph) Casarin, aged 74 years of Moose Jaw, passed away in Hospital on Sunday February 19, 2006. Giuseppe is predeceased by his parents, sister Teresina Sattalo, brother-in-law Santin Sattalo, and father-in-law Tony Tosin - all in Italy. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Loretta; son Luigi (Carol) – Brooks, AB and granddaughter Kimberley – Red Deer, AB; daughter Lucia – Moose Jaw; brother Adam Casarin – Moose Jaw; sister Bruna (Giovanni) Paiaro, nephews Lou (Donna) Paiaro, and Gianni Paiaro and their families – all of Calgary; and numerous other relatives in Italy. Giuseppe was born on June 27, 1931 in Trebaselghe Sant-Ambrogio, Padova, Italy. He came to Canada, settling in Moose Jaw in 1956. He was a hard worker, starting out working for the Canadian Pacific Railroad, later at Robin Hood Mills. Then during the rest of his working years he worked for numerous construction companies, ending with his retirement from Band City Construction in July 1995. Before becoming very ill, his family was his first priority. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, helping friends out, wine making, talking with neighbours, just to name a few. The Evening Prayer Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday February 22, 2006 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 Third Ave. N.E., on Thursday February 23, 2006 at 10:00 am. Father Alex Osei will be Mass Celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Ave., Regina, S4R 1A6, or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 104, 2301 Ave. C., N., Saskatoon, S7L 5Z5, would be appreciated. In living memory of Joe, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
