STANLEY FRANCIS of Moose Jaw, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2003 . Born January 6, 1919 in Baworow, Poland, Stanley served twenty-eight years with the R.C.A.F., retiring as a Warrant Officer. He is a veteran of World War II and served several tours in Europe as well as stations in Canada . He is survived by his wife, Anne Cecelia; daughters: Sandra Adams and Karen Moriarty; brothers: Alexander (Mary) and Raymond, his sister, Kasia and grandchildren: Colleen and Garrett. Funeral Services will held in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw on Thursday, September 11, 2003 at 7:00 p.m.. Father Gerry Bauche will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., S6H 1H3 . In living memory of Stanley, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. SYLVESTER "SLIM" BARANIESKI
Sylvester "Slim" Baranieski of Rouleau Saskatchewan passed away on Saturday January 3, 2004 at the age of 86 years. Born in Saskatchewan, Slim spent his working career in construction as a crane operator. In keeping with his wishes there will be no Funeral Service, Cremation has taken place.
ANNA MOFFATT
ANNA KATHALENE MOFFATT, age 93 of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Anna was born May 7, 1913 in Flesherton, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Jane Orr, husband, Carl; sisters: Thelma, Violet and Rhea, and one brother, Jay. Anna is survived by her son, Raymond (Lynne); grandchildren: Robert (Amanda), Kevin, Amy, Craig and Gillian (Adam), and five great-grandchildren: Daxton, Desirae, Brooklyn, Robert and Aubrianna. Anna was a member of Mizpah Chapter #1Order of the Eastern Star Moose Jaw and a Past Matron of Drinkwater Chapter. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Linda Owens will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Shriners’ Patient Transportation Fund. WILFRED TAMES
MR. WILFRED TAMES of Moose Jaw, passed away on April 3, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Wilfred was born November 3, 1917. He married Helen on October 29, 1941 and they moved to the Tames homestead in the Big Beaver area in 1946, moving to Moose Jaw in 1985. Predeceased by his parents, wife, Helen in 1997, three brothers and his granddaughter, Amanda Tames, Wilfred is survived by two sisters: Annie Kleven and Lillian Kleven; six children: son, Gerald Tames of Moose Jaw and his daughter, Tammy; daughter, Marlene (Fred) Meston of Bengough and their children: Brian (Michelle), Trinda (Derrick) Bookout; son, Milton (Linda) Tames of Grande Prairie, Alta., and their children: Jason, Corey and Amber; son, Richard (Kim) Tames of Moose Jaw and their children: Carman, Stephen, Jeremy, Melissa, Thom and Dakota; son, Tim (Joyce) Tames of Innisfail, Alta., and his children: Priscilla and Jennifer, daughter, Penny (Lou) Pilsner of Moose Jaw and their children Devin and Danene; ten great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted by Stan Skrill, Moose Jaw Branch #59. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Ave., Regina, Sask., S4R 1A6 would be appreciated. GARY HEEBNER
Gary Michael Heebner passed away suddenly December 1, 2004. Gary was born in Regina, January 8, 1961 and graduated from Central Collegiate and the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science Technology in Moose Jaw, with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly McDonald November 14, 1981. Gary’s business career included working as a line controller at Canadian Pacific Railways, as Special Constable in Moose Jaw Police Service, and since 1986 as an Executive at Gescan, an electrical supply company, in Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Edmonton. Gary was a devoted Husband and Father, a beloved Son, Grandson, Son-in-law, Uncle, Cousin and Friend to all who knew him. He needed no instruction in these roles. He loved them all. Gary possessed a strong sense of duty and honor and a love for fun appreciated by all his Family and Friends. Gary loved life, he loved his work and he loved his friends who participated in his favourite pastimes. Predeceased by his father, Arthur Heebner of Saskatoon, brother, Glen Heebner of Moose Jaw; and grandfathers: Edward Heebner, Ace Popescul and Henry Ewaskui, Gary is survived by his loving wife, Beverly, daughter, Stephanie Harrington (Sean) and son, Kevin Heebner - all of St. Albert, his mother, Donna Heebner – Saskatoon, his sister, Debbie Hagel (Bruce), niece, Jennifer and nephews: Corey and Lee – Saskatoon, sister-in-law, Charlaine Heebner and three nieces: Samantha, Kayla and Kelsey - all of Moose Jaw, mother and father-in-law, David and Clara McDonald - Moose Jaw; grandmothers: Meta Ewaskui - Saskatoon and Hertha Popescul - Regina, uncle, Edward Heebner (Freda) and cousins: Brian and Neil Heebner. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Albert Funeral Home, St. Albert Trail and St. Vital Ave., on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation at the W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at W.J. Donald (Darcy) DiBartolo
Sept. 9, 1965 – Aug. 16, 2004
Darcy was tragically taken from our world on August 16, 2004, doing what he loved to do, driving his Rig. Darcy leaves many to celebrate his life: his dad, Frank; sons: Robert and Chris McCurdy, Justin and Calvin DiBartolo, his daughter, Shannel Breton, his sister, Debbie and her family (Ron, Cory and Chris), as well as many friends and relatives from across Canada. He was predeceased by his mom, Ethel. A Celebration of Darcy’s Life will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place in Northern Saskatchewan at a later time. In lieu of flowers, a donation maybe made to a charity of your choice. FRANCIS CALDWELL
MRS. FRANCIS M. CALDWELL of Moose Jaw passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at the age of 93 years. She married Doug Caldwell January 13, 1932 and the couple resided in the Lawson District until moving to make their home in Moose Jaw where they retired. Francis enjoyed curling, was involved with the Lawson Ladies Aide and was a life member of the Rebekah Lodge. Predeceased by her husband, Doug and one sister, Blanche, Francis is survived by her two daughters: Verna Reindeau of Moose Jaw and Yvonne (Ron) Miller of Strasbourg; eight grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, one brother, Doug (Ella) Curtis of Calgary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Minto United Church, Moose Jaw. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
