Sidney (Sid) Guy of Moose Jaw, passed away suddenly on Wednesday June 15, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Sid was born in Caron on July 7, 1930. He worked for the CPR/BCR for most of his life. He is predeceased by his parents Bert and Pearl Guy; and a sister, Belle Brewin. Sid is survived by his sister, Dorothy Fawcett – Moose Jaw; wife, Terry – Chetwynd, BC; children: Tanya (Greg) Mason, Tammy (Travis) Morton – Fort St. John, BC; Pearl (Ray) Auger – Moose Jaw; Allen (Julie) Guy – Regina; Carol (Les) Beaton, Heather Patri, Geri (Jim) Kuntz, Orville McCartney, and Valerie Tressel – all of Moose Jaw; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday June 20, 2005 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Following Cremation, memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials to a charity of choice, would be appreciated. In living memory of Sid, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W J Jones & Son Funeral Home.

January 21, 1924 – October 6, 2004
Francis Michael Maloney of Moose Jaw passed away at Providence Place on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the age of 80 years. Frank was a World War II Veteran who served in many countries overseas in the 1st Special Services Division. Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mona; two brothers: James and Edwin and one sister, Dorothy. Frank will be remembered by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Marion; his seven children: Jerry (Linda), Jean (Bob), Judy (Bob), Jack, Karen (Dayle) – all of Calgary, Tim (Paula) of Fort St. John and Patrick (Stacy) of Moose Jaw; sisters: Florence, Wilda, Mearl (Campbell) and three brothers: Albert (Pat), Bill (Joyce) and Mervyn; nine grandchildren: John, Kevin, Kayla, Jill, Curtis, Dylan, Ashley, Shawn, Kaci, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Following cremation, A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw . Padre Doug Shepherd will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted by Stan Skrill, Moose Jaw Brach #59. Family memorialization will take place at the family plot, Mossbank Cemetery at a later date. CATHERINE NICOLLE
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of CATHERINE CAROLINE NICOLLE on September 3, 2003. Catherine was born at Section 31, Township 18, Range 24, West 2nd at the family ranch on May 15, 1915. She was never married but became “The Mom” to all her family. Crocheting was her life, she loved to try a new pattern and watch her family and friends eye’s light up with the new treasure. Predeceased by her parents, Douglas Charles and Dorothy Kate, her sister, Vera, brother, Charles and sister-in-law, Evelyn, Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Douglas A. (Chubb) and wife, Marjorie, only nephew, Doug and wife, Jeannette, as well as many cousins and a multitude of friends. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, Moose Jaw on Monday, September 8, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Betty Bradley will officiate. Burial will take place at the St. Columba Church Cemetery. GLADYS BOWMAN
GLADYS ELIZABETH BOWMAN (nee Shuh) passed away at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw on April 13, 2003, at the age of 93 years. Gladys was born April 3, 1910 on a farm near Guernsey, Saskatchewan to Elizabeth and Benjamin Shuh. Gladys went to Normal School in Saskatoon and then taught school in the Lockwood area and at Cana, Saskatchewan. She married Fred Bowman in 1932. Gladys was a warm, compassionate woman who served God and others with an uncomplaining heart. She spent many years teaching Sunday school, VBS, and Bible study. She always took time for her family and neighbours and was a wise listening ear. She enjoyed quilting and knitting. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Fred, her son Bob and her sister Florence Verbecke. She is mourned by her children and their spouses: Rod (Juanita), Walter (Beatrice), Bob (Alma) and Ruth (Barry); her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her sister Helen. We have been blessed by her love and prayers. We are sad to see her go, but look forward to the day we meet her again. Funeral Services will be held at Sharon Mennonite Church, Guernsey, Saskatchewan on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor James Mullet will officiate. Interment will take place in the Sharon Mennonite Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gideons Bible Society would be appreciated by the family. EDNA SAIGEON
Edna Saigeon (Seibel) passed away peacefully on Thursday July 31st, 2003 at the age of 71. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years Don; sons Lyle (Lori) and Bruce (Susan); grandchildren Robin, Anna-Maria, Daniel and Michael; sisters Irene Kruger (Len), Marian Mack (Bill) and Loretta Klassen (Elmer) and her mother Katie Seibel. Edna is predeceased by a baby sister (1930), and her father Gus ( Nov. 13, 2000 ). Born December 25, 1931, Edna grew up on the family farm near Morse, SK She married Don Saigeon in 1952 and farmed with him until 1964, when they moved to Morse and operated a family business. They raised their family and lived in Morse during which time Edna served many years in the Morse Royal Purple. In 1982, Edna and Don moved to Paliser Regional Park and lived there to the present. Edna was employed as Park Administrator for 12 years and secretary for the Cottage Owners Association. Mom loved life at the lake, tending to her flowers and prized garden, as well as enjoying endless cooking, baking and fussing over family and friends. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Edna’s life. The service will be held at Riverhurst Community Hall on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at 1:00 pm . Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery at 4:00 pm . The family gratefully declines flowers. Friends so wishing may make donations in Edna’s memory to the Central Butte Union Hospital ( Central Butte, SK. S0h oto) or the Canadian Cancer Society ( 340-1870 Albert St., Regina, SK. S4P4B7). The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to those close friends and neighbours for their support, and thanks the wonderful nursing staff at the Central Butte Hospital . SUSAN RICHARDSON
MRS. SUSAN RICHARDSON passed away at the Herbert Nursing Home on Sunday, March 13, 2005 after a short illness, with her family at her side. Susan was born on August 1, 1915 at home, northwest of Herbert. She left home at an early age to work as a maid & nanny and did housekeeping with her sister Mary and also worked with the Salvation Army until she met George Richardson. They were married at her parent’s farm on April 17, 1941 and tried farming until 1947 when they moved to Herbert. Mom loved family and loved to cook for them. The house was full on many Sundays with one of her brothers or sisters and their families, enjoying her excellent baking (buns and pies) or traditional Mennonite dishes. She was a favourite aunt to many, a good neighbour and friend. She enjoyed church, friends and many hobbies until her eyesight began to fail. During the summers she had Mike and Erica over for holidays so they could take swimming lessons. Mom and dad were always there to help in any way, whether babysitting, butchering, gardening, wherever there was a need. Right to the end mom was always cheered by the voices and hugs of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never really felt that she belonged in the Herbert Heritage Manor or Nursing Home with all those “Old Folks”. During the last five years, she really missed contact with her sisters and brothers to whom she was very close. Susan is predeceased by her husband, George Richardson in 1996, her parents; brothers: Aaron, John, Jake and George; sisters: Katherine and Mary. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Marlene (Rick); grandchildren: Michael (Diane) and Erica; her son, Don (Cathy); grandchildren: Mandy, John, Pat, Ross, Tim and Kim; great-grandchildren: Brian, Nikki, Kirklin, Ethen and Isaiah; sisters: Helen Peters and Eva Prang and brother, Fred (Marj) Remple and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the Herbert Mennonite Church. Pastor Donovan Epp will officiate. Interment will follow in the Herbert Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorials may be directed to the Herbert Heritage Manor or to the Herbert Nursing Home. RAGNA COMSTOCK
RAGNA COMSTOCK (nee Swensen) of Moose Jaw passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2004. Born in North Dakota, Ragna married Morton Comstock on December 30, 1931 and the couple settled in Mitchellton, Saskatchewan where they operated the Imperial Oil Dealership. In 1945 they sold the business and moved to Moose Jaw. Ragna was a life member of the Rebekah’s and the U.C.T. Predeceased by her parents, husband Morton in 1991, two brothers and two sisters. Ragna is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Christine Nagy (Bob); granddaughters: Carolyn Griffin (Gil), Melanie Blackwell (Cal); great-grandchildren: Christopher, Trista, Tyler, Chase and Burke – all of Moose Jaw, a brother, Arnold (Prue) Swensen of Regina and two sisters: Borghild Anderson of Regina and Helma Qually of Winnipeg as well as nephews and one niece. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate.
